View Full Version : If you were making an ad against Obama what would you use?

If I could get my voice heard I would bring attention to this fact that when he was an IL state senator 1996 - 2000, he was the only senator who voted against legislation that forbade early prison release of child predators.

He is doing a great job of it himself. SNL has put pressure on the Media to treat him as a target instead of a client.
We do not need to stimulate a response against us. Never attack him.
Stay with hillary's strengths, he cannot match her and the world is beginning to see the light.
Connect with men and re-inforce weak women to stand with their sister.
That is the goal only positives will achieve.
No one wants him attacked except for us.

I'd use his adviser's statements, and call the ad "honesty". The ad should briefly have a clip of Obama on his plan for Iraq, then shift to Obama adviser Samantha Powers where she says Obama's Iraq plan is political speakese, then shift to Obama clip on NAFTA, then to a headline clip of the AP article where Obama advisor told Canada that Obama's position was political speakese, then would go to 3am ad, to Obama adviser saying Obama not ready to Answer 3 am call, then end ad with Hillary saying she is ready for that 3am call, and voters don't have to worry whether what she says on campaign trail is what she means, where Obama's own advisers raise questions as to whether Obama is all talk.

This was posted by another blogger on another thread, "In 2005, Obama voted YES for the Bush energy bill that gives tax subsidies to the oil companies. The money comes out of our paychecks. Hillary voted NO. Obama has yet to apologize for that vote."
I think this would resonate big time given the profits posted by the big oil companies and current gas prices.

I think my favorite Obamapas was at the SC debate when he voted against the credit companies rate cap of 30% because he thought it was too high, but in voting against it, he voted for no cap at all. That was priceless!
But bernie is right...focus on her strengths and maybe make a comparison that way too. Positive always works better, unless you put negative to a positive beat (sound).
And definitely focus on men. I don't say this because I am one, but white men are a key demographic that if she could win around 55% to 60% of each time, coupled with strong women support, she could walk with each primary here on out.

I want to see an Ad that has all of those Generals and Admirals in it endorsing Senator Clinton!
Obama cannot touch that with a 10 foot pole!
If I could get my voice heard I would bring attention to this fact that when he was an IL state senator 1996 - 2000, he was the only senator who voted against legislation that forbade early prison release of child predators.
Exactly! Anyone who has children or works with children should think twice about electing this freak!

He couldnt, he wasnt a US Senator and wasnt in Hillary's position or John Edwards position.
There are people that actually believe that he voted against war so Hillary needs to keep reminding everyone what he was really doing in 2002.
We all are qualified to be president under Obam's criteriam. I was against the war in 2002, I opposed it as well. I guess I am qualified to be president as well.
This is the cornerstone of his entire faux campaign!!!
He DID however vote for the Surge!

I would bring to attention the fact that he claims he wants to change the health care system, yet in contrast to that his wife who works for a supposed not for profit hospital raked in over $100 million dollars last year from gouging uninsured people, and then turned around and pocketed a few $100,000 herself. Obama did nothing to fix that problem, why would he do anything for the whole country??:eek:

Have a clip of him saying something about how he wants to change negative Washington politics and how he doesn't want to bicker, argue or criticise...
Then cut to a clip of him saying how Hillary will 'say anything' to get elected or the classic "You're likable enough, Hillary". Emphasise his hypocrisy and the fact that he's so inexperienced, he wasn't even a US Senator in 2002.

It is like kicking a sissy. Not a good idea.
Hillary's voting record has been out there and examined. His are not. There are not many informed voters out there and the media is not bring attention to his voting records. The Republicans will examine his records and dealings if he will be on the ticket as a president or VP.

Jayling (blogger on this site) has a great table, showing the two side by side. Hillary started work as a teen before he was born. Most of his years are a blank.
show the year 2002 clearly - where he was.
show the year he met David Axelrod, who decided to sculpt him into something.
Just show the truth.
Geez...where do I start? There is TOO MUCH material to choose from!
He is doing a great job of it himself. SNL has put pressure on the Media to treat him as a target instead of a client.

I think this is a good approach. He will be his own undoing! And best we focus our energies wisely on the positive! Focusing on his negatives is draining and draws attention away from Hillary's obvious positives.

I believe it's worth mentioning how much more Obama has spent in Ohio and Texas relative to Clinton's. We know how influential marketing can be. This shows that to win a campaign is required way more than just the money itself. The money the Obama campaign is spending in media may be one of the reasons behind the support he might have gotten there. Net, media spending could be a strong argument in favor of Clinton.

I would like to see more of her accomplishments , from teen years to now
and people talking about them not just the add with her accomplishments.
I think using other people to vouch for what you did and do are more convincing than just having accomplishments out there. Like her life story add
on her web with the videos, of others endorsing her for what she done in the
past. Just regular people like us in this forum, could be used to touch voters

Show the discord and yelling at the cuacases caused by the Obama people.
Show the huge bus loads of people bussed in possibly from other states.
Show remarks by Al Sharpton and Lewis Farraghan.
Show the absolutle asinine behavior of followers of Obama at his rallies.
I don't think anyone likes to think that these type people might somehow influence our Government at the highest level.

Barack talks all the time about the importance of having "good Judgement" implying that he would make excellent decisions because of his "good judgement". I would play some of these soundbites alongside the news clip from last week when asked about his decision to invest in a land deal with Rezko he said "obviously, it was not good judgement on my part". A caption should follow that says "Barack Obama has Misjudged!" and then "vote for a president who has (roll the following) Experience, wisdom, domestic relationships, foreign relationships, credibility, knowledge, perspective, perserverance, ... end with "I am President Clinton and I approve this message".
This should be played over and over in different ways - TV, radio, interviews, etc.. so that his claim to good judgement is weakened.

TX caucus fraud might be a blow at the knee cap of Obama.
Especially if it can be traced back from the perpetrators to the campaign.
It will undermine his previous win in caucus and the honestly of his campaign.
We should keep our eyes and ears open for any information in the web that can show light on this issue. If we found any link we should send to Hillary campaign and the media.

Two messages we need to get across
1) TARGET: HRC RESUME is SO filled with achievements, experience, etc.
We need to get that out more. Every time I tell people a very little bit about her work, you can see that they had no idea. For an ad, Jamie #17 is on the right track. Hillary's pictures & some of her accomplishments either in a single spot or a series of clearly related spots. Voices of her friends, fellow congresspersons, Mrs. Rodham, Bill, Chelsea citing her accompishments.
Mrs. Rodham (picture(s) of HRC in Youth): "I was so proud of Hillary when...
Mother of HRC college friend who was in the MSNBC special (pics from graduation): can't remember exact quote but she knew then that HRC would one day be POTUS.
Chelsea could take education
Just don't forget her Humanitarian Awards.
2) TARGET: tie together "TIME: THE DREAMS OF YOUTH, THE MEMORIES OF THE ELDERLY" a.k.a "The Road of Life."
-At the beginning, a few young people seem to be thinking of an older person and one of them says "yesterday is but today's memory and tomorrow is today's dream" (Kahlil Gibran may be too esoteric but "The Prophet is great!)
- a)The Youth vote - dissolve in & out pictures of HRC as child the reading to or helping a child(ren) forward through the ages, maybe use Hillary shots as youth / speaking at Wellesley / post grad shots intermingled with regular people. Use quotes from her speeches, in her voice. Move forward through and into...
b)The older vote - inspire them to get out and vote & not think that their life has passed. Remind them that they have had successes over the years and that they still have an impact on the country - the globe.
-At the end, a very old person may be in the foreront picturing the young people from the first shot & seems to be thinking of them "It was but yesterday we met in a dream." The older this person the younger Hillary seems. We want the young voter to realize that she is the same person that spoke at Wellsley, Beijing, the Senate floor, etc., -- The person they can envision themselves becoming.

1. NAFTA-gate
2. Rezko
3. Iraq-Powers-gate
4. Pastor Wright
5. His unpatriotic wife
6. Hillary is the Democrat from Punjab, India comment=Bigoted remark
7. Former(and still closet) Palestinian supporter
8. Hasn't even finished one term in the US Senate. His supporters seem to think corrupt Illinois Senate is the equivalent of national experience. Not even close.
9. His various flip flops and there are many.
10. His parsing words and basically lying to 80/20 the Asian PAC in California. So they slammed him.
11. The list goes on........

It's all availible online through non-partisan research sites. But they honestly appear to be walking around in a fog--as if they want their candidate to get away with lying about not taking special interest donations--the big error in Texas.
Fortunately, he did not win Texas. And I think it was because we were encouraging people who were undecided to check the facts out. Apparently it worked. But the level of deception is beyond creepy.
I've worked on several campaigns previously. And I just thought that strategy-policy differences were human nature. But I honestly am worried about what these people are digesting which keeps them locked into oblivion :eek:

It's always a good idea to stay as positive as possible. Repetition on all of Hillary's strengths....... her vast amount of experience and preparedness. I love the idea someone posted above having all those generals who support her.
I think any ad would need to be careful about too much negativity....... I figure the hard core Obama supporters are NOT going to change their brainwashed minds and others who are undecided would be turned off by too much negativity. However, I do like STRONG ads like the 3 am ad!! That has a lasting effect.
Also, I'd like to see MUCH MORE focus on the ECONOMY!!!!!!!!!

Obviously, this one could never be used, but I would love to use it. It is concerning a comment that obama made when he was interviewed on fox news about the controversy that is going on now about his pastor.
Obama said even though he has been going to that church for close to twenty years, that he was unaware of the hate comments that his mentor and friend that he thinks of as and uncle has been making. If you truly believe that, then at least ask your self this. Do you really want a person in the White House for the next four years that don't even know what has been going on around him for the last twenty years? Think about it.

Senator Obama, will you promise to take a pledge that you will denounce and reject your use of illegal drugs? Will you be a model for all American Children and tell them that drug use leads to drug abuse? Will you ask Senator Kerry to release the evidence of his Congressional Hearings on Iran-Contra drug trafficking? Will you vote for the Impeachment of President Bush? Will you follow the advice of Senator Hillary Clinton in changing the means by which Al Queda uses to traffick drugs to fund terrorism? Will you guarantee to the International communities that you will stand for no more trafficking of children, women, drugs and weapons? Will you pledge those things to an oath to the American Flag?

"I'd contrast his supposedly not taking special interests with the finances doccumenting that yes he is."
YES! That's one ad I"d like to see on air! Also, an ad showing how every decision that Roberts made so far on the Supreme Court has been anti-women, anti-worker and nothing but pro-Corporatism. And then show how BO thinks Roberts is such a great choice that this so-called progressive liberal wanted to vote to confirm him! Obama thinks Roberts is a fine choice for the Supreme Court! Now that's someone seriously lacking in judgement!
But then it fits in with why Obama broke rank with the dems and voted FOR the biggest bank and corporate give-a-way... which would come out in ad #1 mentioned above, if such an ad ran.
Also, some people mentioned about staying positive and not running negative ads etc. I beleive we have to be careful not to fall into the trap of unwittingly adopting the "talking point" language. Don't let them frame the situation. It's not "being negative" in calling attention to accurate inconsistancies and out-right lies in an opponent that so far has all but been ignored by the media. I also don't consider it "being positive" in pointing out the accurate successes of a candidate providing they are real, verifiable and again..accurate.
To me it's not "positive" it's just the truth. And that's something I"ve not heard anything about when it comes to really taking BO to task about statements and claims he has made. Obama is just like the Republican's-- they say one thing (experts at bumper-sticker phrases), but the truth of it is usually the exact opposite!
