What a crock.

No one can mention that a tall, skinny, guy with no substance is running well before his time solely because he is black. And mention that Hillary is catching crap by the boatload from a Media that is patently unfair because she is a woman.

Gerry Ferraro spoke her mind and suddenly she is a target.

Hell, Ferraro was way more qualified when she was VP candidate than this creep.

And if he isn't running on skin color, what is the attraction for the now-near 90% black vote he is getting?

He has run on skin color first, attacking anyone who mentions the Messiah is totally, without question, the least qualified man running (except the sourpuss Nader).

And when we finally bury his campaign on the plains of Pennsylvania and the rolling hills of North Carolina the world will see what a sham this whole phenomenon has been.

Geraldine isn't going anywhere. And that was an op-ed piece for the NYT. Does he think he can take them on? He can't even fight SNL without whining.

To follow his logic, then I suppose Maureen Dowd should be fired from the NYT as well for flying on his plane around the Country and making anti-women, anti-Hillary op-eds.

He's a whiny little joke.

No way! No How! The media can say anything they want about her gender but let the word black come out of anybody's mouth (other than their's) and it's a racist comment. Please! Geraldine is not going anywhere. He is of mixed heritage. He needs to quit playing the race card himself. He does not even like blacks. Neither does Oprah.

Girl, Amen and Amen.
Hillary will soundly defeat this guy in both Pennsylvania and North Carolina...I am so ready for Hillary to stomp this guy and go on to Denver!

This is his way to retaliate against having to sack his staff member who called Hillary a "monster". Obama seems very vindictive, resentful and as being willing to go to ANY lengths to ensure his ego-driven desire for POWER is fullfilled. A new kind of politics he says? WHAT A JOKE!!!!!!!!!!!

There was a world of difference between what his foreign affairs advisor
( Powers ) said about Hillary being a monster. She was mad and nasty at the time of her comments after Obama's loses in Ohio, Rhode Island & Texas. She was expressing venom!
Geladine Ferraro was simply making a statement which everyone else is trying to avoid saying but knows is true! It is about race!! And, it was Obama who made it about race when his nasty little race card issue was played out in South Carolina. It is somehow " off limits " to mention race. This is part of the tactics the Obama campaign is relying on!

It seems to be the political version of the Blacks able to use the N word...but when another race uses the N word...it is racism.

Now, I know that is an extreme comparison because it truly is a hateful word, but you can kind of see how it parallels.

Try the delegatehub.

they are stepping on the land mine. This is a forbidden subject even if it's the truth. Anything referring to his performance, good/bad because he's black, is an untouchable subject. We need to accept that it's how the society perceives the subject in this time of history.

If Ferrarro is black, it will be ok for her to say it. It's the same thing as
AA can call another AA using the N-word, but the white man cannot.

I hope Hillary camp can come up with a way to get out of this with little
damage. It's a big slip. The campaign is already hard as it is.
This new hurdle is uncalled for.

I suspect too that Obama more or less had to boot Powers not so much for the "monster" comment, but because Powers made some pretty damaging statements that revealed that Obama's "Iraq Plan" was campaign speech lingo - Obama had to distance himself from those comments.

I really think it is time to stop apologizing to Obama every time his feelings get hurt. Gerraro's comments were not racist.

As a footnote, at least Obama has some cause for anxiety with the Mississippi primary according to one article. Click Here (http://www.time.com/time/politics/article/0,8599,1721113,00.html)

If the NYT wants to fire Geraldine Ferraro, then they should follow suit with Maureen Dowd who just happens to fly all over the Country with Oblahma*.

They are grasping at straws.

It's OK to be sexist, but not OK to state the obvious.

God help us if this man wins the nomination.

Obama wants Farraro fired because he wants to play his race card again and again and again. Please relisted to his debate style in South Carolina. He says that John of course wants the White Male vote. Sen. Edwards is annoyed and comments back that he wants all the votes.

A spade is a spade is a spade. She is right on this issue. Our campaign has got to quit caving in to this way of swift boating us. The constituition says"1/8 of black blood means you are black. He either ignores this or does not know about it. He wants to be affiliated with the "Regan Democrats" (republicans in disguise). N----Please! He is not even trying to identify with any blacks. His base supporters are actually republicans touting themselves as democrats or actual republicans who will not vote for him in November. Americans unite. It is ok to not like him. I am black and I don't like him. Enough with the guilt of racism already. Put this sucker where he belongs...in the toilet.

I'm sure he will get what he wants. Anyone who speaks out against him will be labeled a racist. But only if it suits his cause. Heads will roll and will be served on a platter....just watch. The media will play this until he gets to Denver. We are entering the "Twilight Zone". Nothing is for real anymore. I can't believe what is happening. I just can't.

Oh, poor Obama.....if he can't take the heat.......

It is very obvious that he is running on race and as already said, if not, the why does he have 90% black support.

It is proven that when push comes to shove, they have more loyalty to race.

Geraldine Ferraro just said what millions of people are thinking and the reaction is why Hillary has an uphill struggle against racism and sexism.

This country should be ashamed of herself.

What is baby Obama gonna do if President if nasty Mahmoud tries to attack America, or starts building those nuclear weapons again..who is he gonna go cry to..Michelle..I highly doubt she will accept that..its very obvious who wears the pants in that family and its NOT Barack. Geez if he is taking what Geraldine Ferraro, someone who is not even involved in Hillary's campaign, just a backer, said, I dread to think what he might react when a real, dangerous situation happens and he has the make the right decision. Will he cry, want his binky, poop in his diaper and cry for his mommy. WAKE UP OBAMA, PULL UP YOUR BIG BOY PANTS AND ACT LIKE A MAN

The last time such a large segment of Black Americans stood blindly behind a famous person just because of skin color, it turned out badly. This is inevitable when you base your decisions just upon skin color. Does anyone believe anymore that OJ did not do it?

I believe the OJ deserrved to get off but only because the prosecution completely bungled the case, and that is how anyone should be judged, not by skin color alone.

But this is to be expected though. Sigh..

Obama needs to grow up and stop running home to Mama. If he's going to play with the big boys and girls, he needs to stop playing the race card every time he is held accountable or someone makes a factual remark, such as Ferraro's remark. She was describing the elephant in the middle of the room that everyone can see but just keeps tip-toeing around. Wake up Obama, either get a tougher hide or get out of the race. You obvioiusly will not be able to withstand McCain's blistering attacks in a field where the race card won't play because no one cares. GO HILLARY!!!!!

The only reason why OJ got away with murder was solely because of his race. If Gil Garcetti had done the RIGHT thing, the trial would have been in Santa Monica, close to where the crime took place, where mostly affluent white people live(OJ's TRUE peers since he NEVER lived amongst the black community) and they would have convicted him because they would have been more intelligent. But Garcetti succumbed to pressure from city leaders who of course always threaten to riot if things don't go their way and the case was moved to Downtown LA, poor people who wouldn't know what DNA is if it bit them on their butt. Juries in Downtown LA almost NEVER convict a black guy, no matter what crime they are accused of. They call it "protecting their fellow brother" why do you think one of the jurors held up the black power sign after OJ was acquitted? My point exactly. Now with Obama, yes he is using the black community to his advantage, and just like with OJ, once he gets what he wants he will drop them like a sack of potatoes and people will wonder "How could we have fallen for that again?"

Maggie said stick with the issue and stop dividing the Democrat party.

Statement from Campaign Manager Maggie Williams

In January, NBC’s Tim Russert confronted Senator Barack Obama with a four page memo from his campaign characterizing statements they claimed the Clinton Campaign had made about race. Asked in hindsight whether he regretted pushing this story, Senator Obama said:
Well, not only in hindsight, but going forward. I think that, as Hillary said, our supporters, our staff, get overzealous. They start saying things that I would not say. And it is my responsibility to make sure that we’re setting a clear tone in our campaign, and I take that responsibility very seriously, which is why I spoke yesterday and sent a message in case people were not clear that what we want to do is make sure that we focus on the issues."
We agreed then. We agree today. Supporters from both campaigns will get overzealous. Senator Clinton today reiterated that when asked about Geraldine Ferraro’s recent comments:
"I do not agree with that and you know it’s regrettable that any of our supporters on both sides say things that veer off into the personal. We ought to keep this focused on the issues. That’s what this campaign should be about."
Senator Obama’s campaign staff seems to have forgotten his pledge. We have not. And, we reject these false, personal and politically calculated attacks on the eve of a primary. This campaign should be about the leadership we need for a better future and these attacks serve only to divide the Democratic Party and the American people.

Geraldine Ferraro said that Obama is black.

This is a surprise to everyone?

The media solemnly announces “Obama expected to win in (enter name of state here) because of the large black population”

Senator Obama plays the race card sermonizing at black churches, likening himself to Martin Luther King, Jr., throwing in a “y’all” or two, and references to Popeye’s Chicken, sistahs, barbershops and Cousin Pookie in case you didn’t get it.

But Geraldine Ferraro mentions the Emperor’s Lack of New Clothing and the Obama campaign erupts in shock and horror.

How utterly cynical, and how very much “politics as usual.”

Meanwhile, Obama’s every reference to Senator Clinton (" Hillary" ) is dripping with sly condescension, and that is just fine with the media and the Obama campaign.

You are exactly right bernie! Thanks for telling it like it is. It was BO and especially MO who played the race card, pandering to the black population. Now, Rev. Al is making threats. The real shame is that the only qualification that 90% of the black population seems to care about in a prez is blackness. Hillary and Bill have done more for African Americans and for civil rights than BO will ever do, yet they buy into the lies he's telling about the Clintons being racist. We have got Oprah, Tom Daschle, Ted Kennedy, and that loser John (wind surfer) Kerry to thank for the mess this race is in, and for the fact that that fluff ball that calls himself a presidential candidate ever got this far.

was telling a friend the other night.. "you just wait. sooner or later this campaign will become a racist issue because Obiasama can't take the heat NOR implications of any sort. You bet he's playing the race card for all he can get out of it. Why do you think he's pandering to the black folks out there? He's counting on their vote because he knows its the only way he can 'get ahead'. If the black population can just stop looking at his color long enough to really LOOK him over and hear what he's really saying, there might be less of a number flocking to support him. But face it.. the way it goes right now, all they can see is a 'brutha' in the White House. Sorry to be so blunt but hey.. he's pulling the race card so now everything is on the table.

What in the thunder is the matter with the media and the black folks out there? I've said it before - this should be about qualifications (or the lack therewithof), NOT race OR gender. Good grief.. I thought Americans were more enlightened than this!

Obiasama is a disgrace, period. He is a disgrace to himself, his family and to the black community - and finally, America.

Can't you tell I don't like him? :)

Fired my AS*!! She is right on it! If NoBama was not Black he would not be where he thinks he is now! To prove this point, someone take the 2004 Black vote (percentage wise), plug it in now and what do you have? Hillary Clinton as the nominee! End of story! Blacks are the most racist people on earth! Not "all" of them, but a very large percentage. You can see it in the votes, especially in a mixed neighborhood in Texas during the caucuses. You've never seen so many Blacks coming out of the woodwork in your life!! go head on, Geraldine!! I salute you!!!

When a person goes for a job interview, they are asked about their qualifications... What makes people think BO has enough, to run this fine country.
Hillary has more knowledge for running this country, than BO will have in 15 years of political office.
Being 1/2 black and playing the race game for votes will only get some very NON knowledgable people voting. That is what is happening now too many people are voting and have not ever voted before, but because a woman television personality backed the BO card,..,, a load of persa idiots are voting.

A woman with Geraldine Ferraro's experience should have known better then to make a race related statement WITHOUT having supporting evidence to back up her statement. What Geraldine said was 100% true but it was presented as an opinion and that's what got her into trouble. Only media can make race related opinions. Politicians and campaign workers can't.

Had Geraldine done just a tiny bit of reaserch either before she made her statement or after she realized she was in trouble, she would have been in the racist clear.

Of course Obama is where he is because he's black. Obama's own advisers know this and use it to their advantage.

Rolling Stone magazine (2007)

There is an amazingly candid moment in Obama's autobiography when he writes of his childhood discomfort at the way his mother would sexualize African-American men. "More than once," he recalls, "my mother would point out: 'Harry Belafonte is the best-looking man on the planet.' " What the focus groups his advisers conducted revealed was that Obama's political career now depends, in some measure, upon a tamer version of this same feeling, on the complicated dynamics of how white women respond to a charismatic black man.

I think it is a shame that people in our country would gladly attack a fine woman like Geraldine Ferrarro-- or Hillary Clinton for that matter -- and allow blatant racism from the Black community. Obama is certainly using his race as a vantage point as well as a shield... any supporter of HIllary who notices his race will instantly be burned. Yet, so much hatred of women is given a pass.

When this whole race is over, I would like to see this race issue dealt with. Black churches cannot be preaching such divisive sermons as Rev. Wright's-- and from news accounts it is similar to sermons all over the nation in black churches. WEll, that just isn't promoting unity. That is reinforcing anger, resentment, pain, and -- for all of Obama's talk of progress and moving forward-- these messages are rooted in a past that is painful for whites and blacks. I personally have participated in programs of dismantling racism-- our focus was on predominately white organizations... maybe we should have been focusing on black organizations and showing them how they reinforce division and exclusion.

Also, after this campaign, what I pray I see happen... is women coming together to form organizations/churches... that preach women's oppressive past. Imagine if women had spent the past 40 years preaching such inflammatory ideology as the black churches had, if women had built such guilt in America that no one would dare use the B-word without being scorned by a majority of their neighbors, if women had pushed and aggitated for sensitivity trainings and filed lawsuits against anyone/everyone who used a sexist slur, maybe Hillary would be in a place where she could vaporize anyone who dared to mention her feminine persuasion.
