Nancy Pelosi is warning Clinton diehards. She has the nerve:
http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?f=/c/a/2008/05/30/MNQE110L6T.DTL
My 2 cents - If Nancy P thinks she can bully Hillary out of the nomination with her media remarks --- "I admire the enthusiasm of those who want to take this to the limit," Pelosi said. "But it will harm our party's chances to win in November. Their enthusiasm is wonderful ... but it's a luxury I can't afford."
Well, Nancy - can you afford to lose my vote in November? Start treating my candiaite, Hillary Clinton with some respect. The media has not nor has the democratic party stepped up to stop the abuse.

hey Pelosi, when you actually start doing your real job and get something done to better the country, then I might think you have something important to say.
Until then, this is America hon....I'll do and say and support anyone who I damn well feel like!

My God. Who died and left her boss? She really thinks she's something. I have news for her. She's not the boss of me (or any of you) and we'll do as we damn well please, including leaving this miserable party. BTW, did anyone notice how bad Pelosi looks in the photos? You'd think she was the one campaigning 24/7 and not Hillary.

Pelosi added she did not blame Clinton for the current controversy.
"Sen. Clinton and President Clinton, they are leaders in our country. They're above all of this," she added. "The enthusiasm of some of our supporters sometimes gets a little zealous."
Someone needs to shut this hyperactive mouseketeer up!

If Nancy Pelosi wants to declare war on a segment of the Democratic Party the size of the one that is supporting Hillary Clinton, let her do it. She and her kind will lose in the end. Their political careers will come to a screaming halt if all of the Hillary supporters hold true and later punish them for gambling away the November election on a disaster like Obama. We should see this fight to the end no matter what anyone says. Obama NEVER! Pelosi and the rest should be told to kiss our collective a$$e$ if she tries to muscle us out.

Pelosi' warning to the clinton supporters and to Hillary is meaningless. The only way to ensure this party is split is to deny MI and FL their primary votes. It's Pelosi & Co. who are working toward that end and she and her cohorts will be solely responsible if the party splits and there is a fight on the convention floor.
And might I add that their worshipee claims to be the great uniter. He is a big part of the splitting of the democrats. He wants to deny MI and FL their votes.

I believe the Speaker of the House is the 3rd in line in position of power. (Correct me if I am wrong.) As to her position, all that has to happen is that she has to be voted out just like any other congressman or congresswoman in her congressional district. Nancy is very vulnerable since she is Speaker under the lowest approval ratings for a Congress in history.
This is just another case of arrogance from just another political leader (hohum!). She needs to let the process play out to its' end.

"There is too much at stake in our country for us to be thinking that we can afford the luxury of intra-party battles eight weeks before the election," Pelosi said in her strongest words yet on the battle over seating the Florida and Michigan delegates. "We've had many months to have a debate, to come to a conclusion. And one way or another ... we have to come together."
Hey Nancy, do the letters "FO" mean anything to you? http://i135.photobucket.com/albums/q155/RunDMC_02/321.gif

Dear Ms. Pelosi,
Since when did the Democratic Party "leaders" decide they would tell us who we should vote for "for the good of the party?" What happened to doing things for the "good of the country?"
This is not about voting for the Candidate YOU want us to, This is about voting for who we feel is the best person for the job. For MILLIONS of us it is HILLARY CLINTON first, followed by JOHN MCCAIN. See, we are Americans before we are Democrats, We are concerned that some of you are so gaga over a candidate with very little in the achievement category and so many unknowns.
If Hillary Clinton is nominated I think we will see a Democrat in the White House come January. If Obama gets the nomination then not only will the Republicans be voting for John McCain, but the MILLIONS of Democrats who care about the country will be voting for McCain too.
If you put your personal goals aside and look at what is best for the country you will see who is truly the best candidate.
If Obama gets the nomination and loses do not try to pin it on Hillary. It will be on Obama and everyone who pushed him on a country whose majority did not want him.
Sincerely,
Susan, etc

This is my letter to Howard Dean,
Subject: Latest Warning From Nancy Pelosi
Dear Mr. Chairman,
Just so you know.
Thanks to the latest warning from Nancy Pelosi to the die hard Hillary supporters, I signed up with John McCain website today.
In the future, I will be working for him if Hillary is not the nominee.
I am deeply demoralized by the cricket silence from Democrat senior toward the sexist and racist remarks from Obama's paster on Hillary. I was appalled by the remarks, the cheering inside the church, the fact that Obama went to that church for 20 years he must share the same view with those people, and the lack of leadership from the Democrat senior.
No one came out to her defense and to condemn the remark. No one say that Hillary is not like that, white entitlement is not her view, it is not accurate, she has been working hard for the nomination, etc. If the Democrat senior wants party unity, this is the golden opportunity for them. But No, nobody came out. No leadership.
Only John McCain showed his disapproval of the remarks about Hillary as unwarranted, disrespectful and disgraceful. He has more leadership and better judgement than any of the Democrat senior.
It's disappointed that Nancy Pelosi as the first female House Speaker said nothing about this sexist & racist remarks. But she is busy giving warning after warning to Hillary supporters.
It's not about female president or vice president. It's about the best qualified leader to run the country and that is 150% Hillary.
I have witnessed the Democratic Party allows one of their best candidate being carved, trashed, demonized, dehumanized during this campaign.
First, you are pushing to nominate the weak candidate in this crucial year without giving any consideration to our concern.
Second, you are trying to silent us, shut down the system, and make us fall in line, but without defending the dignity of our candidate.
So that's it. I'm not taking it anymore. I'm not going to stand down and be a body count for the Democratic Party.
Today I declare that I will work for John McCain if Hillary is not the nominee.
Regards,
xx xxx

honestly imo Nancy Pelosi suffers from delusions of grandeur. but newsflash for her: if she thinks Hillary losing the nomination will make her the most powerful woman in politics, she should think again. I've been saying all along that as leader of a coalition that comprises half the democratic base, Hillary is the most powerful woman in American political history and just today a couple of pundits expressed nearly the same belief...Charles Krauthammer on Brit Hume's panel and John Heilemann in The New Yorker (article entitled What Does Hillary Want?). Heilemann says that even if she goes back to the Senate her power will be enormous, probably most powerful Senator, and Krauthammer says even though he doesn't think she'll get the nomination, Hillary would be CRAZY to release her delegates, because 'her delegates' make up half the convention floor. Mort Kondracke (also on Hume's panel) basically said whatever she wants, Obama will have to give her A LOT.
now some of these people still think she might want to be vice-president, but Heilemann doesn't. it's an interesting article and you can pick up the link over at realclearpolitics.

I don't think she wants VP either. She would have a good shot in 2012 if she doesn't take VP position. She takes the VP position and they lose which they would it would hurt her chances in 2012 if it came to that. She knows he can't win no matter what she says.

Pelosi added she did not blame Clinton for the current controversy.
"Sen. Clinton and President Clinton, they are leaders in our country. They're above all of this," she added. "The enthusiasm of some of our supporters sometimes gets a little zealous."
They still don't get it! This goes beyond one candidate just being too liberal for our tastes. If that were the case many of us would just buckle up and accept him if he were elected fairly.
But this candidate is much worse than that. He is only close because two entire states were denied the right to vote. He has political corruption charges hanging over his chief fundraiser for all his previous elections. He only won his prior elections by having his opponents thrown out. He has tacitly supported anti-american, anti-patriotic, terrorist sympathizers, when terrorism is one of biggest concerns of the American people. He has no foreign policy knowledge and has made foolish statements that only serve to further increase the perception that he himself is sympathetic to terrorists against his own country.
How in heavens name can they expect us to support this guy? How in heavens name can they?

Yep they do think we're that stupid. Remember we're uneducated. "Give them a woman, any woman, on the ticket." It's the old "turn them upside down they all look alike" mentality.
I think they do think that but it's not going to work.

The enthusiasm of some of our supporters sometimes gets a little zealous."
As opposed to the OB supporters? Is she for real? It is the OB people who are "a little zealous". Hate is a better word, threats, bigotry, sexism, rage, cheating, threats of riots. And WE are "a bit zealous"?

Let me see if I have this right....the woman who has lead this do-nothing House of Representatives is telling all of us to stop supporting a woman who has done so much. Well, that certainly sounds logical to me....NOT! When Pelosi has even half the resume that Hillary has, then she can CONTEMPLATE telling me what to do. But until then, I suggest Pelosi concentrate more on cleaning up the House she is supposedly the leader, and let the TRUE LEADER clean up the White House.

Someone ask for her address? Here it is.
Nancy Pelosi
http://www.house.gov/pelosi/
email: sf.nancy@mail.house.gov or http://www.house.gov/pelosi/contact/contact.html
District Office
Phone: (415) 556-4862
Fax: 415-861-1670
Washington, D.C. Office
Phone: (202) 225-4965
Fax: 202-225-8259
You are giving the wrong address for Pelosi unless you are her constituent. You will get a bounceback to that effect.
Pelosi's Speaker email address is:
AmericanVoices@mail.house.gov
No one reads the "speaker" emails that are sent to her constituency address.

And as it was leaving many people were thrown under it including Senator Hillary Clinton. So you can just pour yourself a drink and drown your sorrows because you are in for a dismal christmas

It's starting to seem that Pelosi is just looking for power and attention. Pay her no mind....she's no longer worth listening to IMO. These kind of people are out in life to tear others down....don't let them....ignoring them will drive them crazy because it shows them they haven't won.

Yes, Pelosi is to be ignored. Through her blatant bias and unethical support of a flawed candidate, she has shown her true colors. And those colors aren't good.

Even though it won't do any good, I feel better...here's my email:
Speaker Pelosi,
I realize that I am not in your district, however, as Speaker of the House I believe that you represent more than just your district.
Please know that I was appalled at reading your words regarding the Democratic primary race for the White House. You seem to be chastising Clinton supporters and threatening them. This suggests to me that you have already decided that Clinton has lost and Obama has won. You will NOT get the support from those of us who have been working with great faith to help Sen. Clinton gain the nomination. In fact, with your comments you have done nothing more that push us all further away from the party and toward Sen. McCain should Clinton not be the nominee.
Further, when you state that our enthusiasm is a "luxury" that YOU cannot afford, you are clearly stating that this is not about us, it's about you. Try to remember that we pay your salary and that you work for us.
The best thing you can do for Clinton supporters is to stop patronizing us and threatening us. The reality is that a McCain presidency will be far better for this country than an Obama presidency.
SO THERE!!!

That is exactly what it comes down to. If Hillary looses. She looses. She is a piece of work.

[QUOTE=spdubois;137165]Nancy Pelosi is warning Clinton diehards. She has the nerve:
--- "I admire the enthusiasm of those who want to take this to the limit," Pelosi said. "But it will harm our party's chances to win in November. Their enthusiasm is wonderful ... but it's a luxury I can't afford."
What does she mean 'this is a luxury I can't afford"? Who died and left her boss? This is NOT about HER! This is about the best person to perform the singlemost important job in this land.

Quote:
Sen. Obama has shrugged off suggestions that the Democratic primary may not end next week. "This is fairly standard fare," he told reporters on Wednesday. "I mean when [Michael] Dukakis won the nomination [in 1988] you know Jesse [Jackson] was still running until the convention. When Bill Clinton was running [in 1992], Jerry Brown was still technically in it."
While in both cases the challenger stayed in the race until the convention, neither had anywhere near the same level of support as Sen. Clinton. The New York senator has won 20 contests and has amassed roughly 16 million votes.
