View Full Version : Nancy Pelosi up for Re-Election on June 3 - No wonder she has been so "outspoken" recently...

Okay, so it probably won't happen...but we can at least make our unhappiness known at the ballot box. I plan to "step in" and cast my vote for Shirley Golub for Congress on the Tuesday, June 3rd, Democratic primary ballot.
She's for impeachment, Pelosi is not etc etc. Yadda yadda yadda and issues aside, Golub is an Obamaite--but atleast she's not pretending to be neutral like the Pelosi/Clyburn crowd.
I think it would be important for the Hillary supporters in California's 8th Congressional District to vote for Golub to show their disdain for Pelosi's spinelessness when it comes to counting our votes.
Are there any board members in the district that plan on joining me in doing this?

I'm willing to support you on this but not if it's for voting for an Obamaite. I'd be even willing to support the republican candidate if it got Pelosi out of office.

It think I understand your perspective Amy, but I think jealousy feeding dirty tricks and backstabbing opponents is not gender specific - Kerry, Kennedy and others being a case in point point. In the real world, if there is extreme jealousy between men, they usually fight.

Pelosi is waaaay too liberal for my liking. I have some friends still living up there I'll contact to see if I can get them to go vote against her (they usually only do the GE election so I'll need to be persuasive).
Oh and I agree with Amy (sorry everyone go ahead and be mad at me) - this is based on my experiences working with women in the office vs. working in a male dominated industry. It's an unfortunate truth - often we (women) are our own worst enemies...the only way to undo the problem and change it is to first admit the problem exists.

Well, I have received plenty of Golub's E-mails regarding Pelosi's impeachment, I always encouraged her and infact donated few bucks for her sincere campaign against this USELESS Jealous woman, called Pelosi..she reminds me of a mean Mother-in-law who is burning in the hell of her own jealousy and who is good for nothing, but, to create more and more problems...
But, I have a Big problem with Golub, too. She is Obamabite and I can not support her , if, she is with Obama, simple and clear....

The way people are looking at Congress these days, maybe we will have some luck and she will be defeated on June 3rd. I am from Texas and it is so hard to live in a Republican state. But after this primary season, the DNC has left me with a bad taste in my mouth. So maybe I'm better off.

Hey, are most people in that area for Obama? Hubby and I are going to Infineon and then wine tasting in Napa and Sonoma at the end of June. (Yes, I know that sounds like an odd combination -- we're eclectic) :) The folks in Sonoma seem like Hillary people to me and if so, I'll bring my hat and shirt with me to wear to the wineries! What do you think?

But I live over in the East Bay. Thank God because Ellen Tauscher is my congresswoman. She's done a great job and has stood by Hillary 100%. I also agree that the three choices on the ticket so far are all awful.
There are plenty of Hillary supporters in the Bay Area. Sometimes we are not as visible as Obama supporters but we are here. Hillary carried many of the counties making up the Bay Area and when Obama carried a county it wasn't by a blow out by any means. So to all of you I say wear your Hillary pride any way you want to but wear it proudly! ;)

Practically speaking, Obama got the Northern Coastal Regions of CA. He really only had a small percentage of the counties. Those areas are known for people who think that they are radical. They still live in the 60s era. They have not yet realized that the rest of the country has evolved. So, they fall for all that Obama Fluff because that is their dream come true - equality.
At what price? They are really into their fantasies. That is why I have said for years that if our Intelligent Californians were not sticking their heads in the sand, they might have been more aware that our country was in danger.
I was at the airport on September 8, 2001. I noticed that day, it was like slow motion. I was thinking that the security was so lax that anything could happen and they were asleep. Why so? One of my students had been having nightmares that she was in an airplane heading for two sky scrapers. So, we were trying to calm her down before taking her to the SF Airport to return to Europe. I was hyper aware of the security that day because she gave specific details of her repeating dreams.
The problem with those groups of people is that they live in their idealistic past. And, now they are being fooled into believing that this Chicago Politician who does not share those same ideals is their leader. They are giving their dreams away. I am proud that the woman from Oakland, across the SF Bay, reported what Obama stated in his address to the sleeping fundraisers. One woman could at least alert us all to the drone of his arrogant projections of superiority.

Unfortunately I'm surrounded by BO supporters. Several signs, bumper stickers, and lawn markers. Makes me ill, I just want to rip them stickers off everytime I see them. I proudly walk around with my button though. Wear your gear and show the Hill Pride, might even change a few minds in the process. Not all Northern Ca people are wealthy latte liberals, many of us are actually reasonable.

I'm not saying they are doing anything but yahoo and gmail both have bots that scan emails...then based on key words they advertise certain things to you. So if they wanted to scan for the word "Hillary" and bounce those emails they could though it would be very unethical.

I'm a SF resident and their are a lot of bad feelings towards Pelosi at this point about a lot of different things ranging from the war to the way she has treated Hillary. I know a lot of women who refused to go to a fund raiser for her because of her treatment of Hillary and because she did not speak up about the way she has been treated. It's definitely time to send a message to all of our politicians. We must think about local issues as well as the larger ones. My father used to tell me "take care of your pennies and your dollars will take care of themselves".

I used to live in San Fran but not now and I don't think Golub is a viable candidate especially as she stupidly supports obama. I could never bring myself to vote for anyone who supports Obama as they obviously haven't done their research on him. She just doesn't look like a good enough candidate to get the votes to defeat Pelosi.
Anyway, if she doesn't have the sense to support Hillary then I would prefer to go with the Republican nominee who is a woman - I believe who made the fuss re her son being killed in Iraq. I liked her she is brave and wish she were a Democrat.. but then I can't vote in San Fran.

Cindy Sheehan hates Hillary Clinton. I was on the backend of supporting one of the key women who supported her. I was invited to the Veterans for Peace Conference in 2005, traveled on the Impeach Bush Bus Tour, gave Cindy my flashlight the night before she was excorted by the VFP envoy to the Dallas Ranch. I stopped supporting their agenda when I felt that they were too angry and chaotic. I would not support Cindy Sheehan based on my personal experience.

Golub will not push Pelosi out of her seat she isn't known enough and you can't run by running on impeaching a Pres who wont be the Pres next year anyway. Stupid stuff and just garnering publicity. You're right about Golub perhaps she's seen the light as well. I was at a party last night and was asking "hillary or obama" and all the ones for Obama said "well, I was for Obama but now I don't know". We should approach her that was a great idea.
You go gal.....

She somehow got caught up with Obama, probably made some backroom deal, may have been promised something. And now, now that it looks like Hillary could do well with the issue re Fl and MI, Pelosi is scared. She stands a lot to lose doesn't she. She's afraid now that a Hillary win spells the end of her career. Who wants someone working around them that will stab them in the back? Pelosi is fighting for her job, life. She knows she's toast people. Stay focused. These threats; they are just as much about her as they are about Obama and whatever back room deals, protection that were worked out.
This is a result of some backroom deals between Obama and Pelosi IMO, and this is being done to make Hillary supporters believe they don't have a chance and become less driven, lose hope and focus and quit. Pelosi knows this race is very close, and if she thought otherwise, she would say nothing. She is as corrupt as they come. Remember, if she really didn't believe Hillary had a chance, or didn't feel she was the stronger candidate, she wouldn't waste her time on this, it would mean nothing. She'd forget about it; but she hasn't. And as the momentum changes and Hillary gets more and more support, more wins, more recognition for the fight Hillary's been up against with the biased media and dnc, and some sd's who appear to be more caught up with money than doing the right thing, Pelosi can see a trend for people supporting HIllary, for Hillary to really demonstrate she has the popular vote, the support of the people of America who are really beginning to show their outrage at what has been going on with the media, oppression by Obama's camp and Pelosi fears that. She doesn't want America to see that if they fight for somethign they believe in, they will win. Pelosi will have lost credibilty, fears losing her job. What do you think is going through her mind right now?; she just kept supporting Obama, trying to make it difficult for Hillary.
Remember the paper tiger:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paper_tiger
In appearance the paper tiger is very powerful but in reality it is nothing to be afraid of; it is a paper tiger. Outwardly a tiger, it is made of paper, unable to withstand the wind and the rain. Any one can get past this if they are aware.
Stay focused and win. Get caught up in the Pelosi and media garbage, lose. I choose to stay focused and stand up for our rights and fight even harder and that's what Pelosi hopes doesn't happen. Her psychology is failing. She's trying to strong arm people here. She's using threats. Well, people are showing her what they think of her threats and Pelosi.
A Hillary victory now would mean a Pelosi loss.....Pelosi has been saying damaging things about Hillary and her supporters and she knows Hillary is very close to winning, it's about Pelosi keeping Pelosi's job now, not just helping Obama. This has become personal.
We see through the facade, we see the paper tiger, keep moving forward towards the goal. She cannot stop us, those are only words meant to break our spirit. Pelosi is a fake who is about to be standing in an unemployment line.

Ignore Nancy Pelosi. She doesn't have the "power" to do anything. What is she going to do? Tell Hillary to just quite? Anyone think Hillary Clinton will do so just to please Nancy Pelosi? NOT A CHANCE! ;)

Meanwhile, she on the big-list for 70x7 violation [and I am not even Christian and I have far less forgiveness in me...], particularly today.

Pelosi crossed the line, she's cooked and she knows it. You couldn't trust someone like her. She's on her way out.

Pelosi is possibly expecting some cushy job courtesy of BO, so she doesn't care about re-election. Problem is, he's so politically naive that it is likely that he has promised the same position to many people. (Yes, I think Pelosi is just that ignorant). Like a former spokesperson for BO said - what he says during the campaign isn't what he'll do if elected... He's got so many fairytales going on at once now that BO falls into one bumbling pit after another. His uncle and the Jewish liberation, his pastors who have been friends for 20 years that he didn't know were racists, seeing dead people in an audience while speaking on Memorial Day... and the beat goes on.

The only problem with Pelosi's opponent is that she's ALSO in the tank for Obama... BUT if she knows Pelosi out it would knock Pelosi out as Speaker and the position would move to Steny Hoyer (I think)

Which is yet another reason for her undying support of him, no doubt. I know politics requires playing the game, but, damn, it would be nice to see someone who just did what they needed to do because it was right. If they didn't get re-elected, at least they would not have prostituted their principles out to the group who could offer them the most votes next election.

Just a thought. But what if we call and email Pelosi telling her that we will contribute to her opponent. That her bid for re-election is over before it starts. Also let her opponent know we back her and the opponent will bombard the media that Pelosi is losing.

I forget her name??? I think Pelosi know her and was quite condescending and arrogant (surprise surprise) because this woman is it "Cindy" is so upset about her son's death she patronized her "well whatever she has to do... yada yada as if to say well, you know she will never get it..." sounds at least interesting enought to find out who her opponent will be...

And, the super delegates who are supporting Obama when their entire district went overwhelmingly for Hillary, should be worried about their re-election. I know that I have taken a closer look at our SDs, who supported Obama. Our district supported Clinton with a huge margin. Obviously, the SD does not represent and is out-of-touch with the people he supposedly represents. He will not be getting my vote in the Fall (unless he comes to his senses and moves to Hillary).
These SDs need to worry about what their vote may mean for their re-election efforts!

Mjoy, Shirley Golub is the Democratic primary opponent (that race will be held tomorrow). If Cindy gets enough signatures, she will be on the general election battle. After Tuesday, I don't know whether I will still be a Democrat or switch to decline-to-state. Got a lot of soul searching to do.

Shirley's strategy right now is to pretty much get as many people to the polls as possible. She doesn't have high name ID so she's hoping there will be a niche of voters who are pissed off with Pelosi for whatever reason (the war, Obama talking points) etc that will go to her. I want to send a message with a respectable showing.
