When did she start with the "look at me" style? It seems now days you can't make a video without using the "look at me" style. What about the ugly musicians then?

I think her "look at me" ways began around the time of the "honey" video. I could be wrong but certainly since the "glitter" soundtrack, it's been all "look at me" from Mariah. She's had some great songs...but I prefer her former plain image!
