This is yet more evidence that she is a leader and not a follower. She takes the blame, even when it's not hers. Obama dishes blame even when it's his own. I feel much more touched by her words than anything he has said.

Thanks for sharing this. This is a fine example of the person she is! And this is another reason why she has my vote and my support!

she only has 1 goal unify the party and get back the white house.

Look they should not have taken offense in the first place when you know it's Hillary talking. Hillary loves everyone. But in case you have some boneheaded people in the crowd you have clarify. It's unfortunate that the media created a lie and that she then had to explain it.

They know she is not racist. It's all just a political ploy by Obummer. So, it doesn't matter what she says or does, they'll find something wrong. He needs to apologize for being sexist. I am not a bigot, but if Obama and the African American community insists on turning this into a black/white contest, I'm pretty sure they will lose. The white vote plus the Hispanic vote will beat the African American vote. This is sad in the 21 century to even have this an issue.

Hillary has the make of a true leader - even if the problem is not yours directly, if tied to you in any way, accept the mistake and apologize for it. It's an act of class Obamanots have yet to learn.

She has nothing to apologize for because she did nothing wrong.

You and I both know that she's done nothing wrong and that Geraldine Ferraro was 100% right. But as they say here in Sicily (I know I keep mentioning Sicilian wisdom in many of my answers but it's foolproof!;) )...wanna make someone let down their guard? Apologize!

as i stated in an earlier post in the Oberman thread, these apologies can only help her...can`t see how the media can spin this into a neg...if they try, i think we all will be very, very angry!

Yes, she is being diplomatic and unifying, regardless of who is and isn't at fault. Two qualities her opponent has zero understanding of.

justme,

I totally agree. I also think Hillary is much smarter than anyone in the media or politics. Remember that Bill called her "a genius" and the smartest person he has ever met. Bill has met Steven Hawkings, Amarta Sen, Bill Gates, and probably most of the Nobel Prize winners.

So yeah, Hillary is a nerd that knows how to get our country out this mess. She's the Big Kahuna who's going to right our ship.

Hillary will beat this. We will be backing her up all the way to the WH.

WOW!...I`ve tried reading Hawking`s theories on multi-dimentional universes, etc...quite a compliment from Bill...and some pretty, 'High IQ'/intelligent company Hillary has in that list...

ON TO VICTORY!!!...HILLARY 08!!!

I don't mean to go off-topic, but reducing the 3,000 years of history that Sicily has with just the Mafia is quite sad. Sicily is much more than that.

Hi Conchita,

I hope you know I was joking around.

I'm from New Jersey and I'm a big fan of the Sicilian/Italian culture. I said that with nothing but affection. Though I'm not Italian, being around my friends, I start gesturing and talking like one sometimes. It's great fun.

No problem - point taken and no harm done:D. I sometimes get angry when people reduce Sicily solely to the Mafia, because they judge based on stereotyping when instead it has a mix of culture and a complex history some people cannot begin to understand.

True, there's so much about Sicily. It's been time tested, being taken over by how many countless other countries and still stood strong and pushed others out.... very stubborn and strong IMO. And one of the first places in Europe that Catholocisim took hold... Sorry the land of the Dead in Siracusa is awesome, first Nunnery, birthplace of how many saints...

*sigh* I miss Sicily, my family's from Melilli outside of Siracusa.... mmmm gelato... lol. Bellini *sigh* one of the greatest Italian composers of our time... ;)

Look, Hillary felt she had to keep this thing from festering. She knows how divisive this election is already with the closeness of the race. She is posturing herself for the win, and knows that when she wins, many in the opposite camp will take to the streets...certainly not a majority but can anyone say Watts! She, and the party do not want major problems after the outcome is decided.

I have heard blacks, some major magazine reps, in their discussions on Hillary getting the nod, that especially young voters, would see Hillary's selection as highway robbery and would go back into their caves, never to surface again.

Obama has himself stated that he doubts that his followers would vote for her if he is not granted domain over all the land, He is an inciteant to the umpteenth degree.

When you use terms like "bamboozled" , "Okie Dokie", at his rallies it can't help but raise the hackles. His wife stated early on in this race, that she wouldn't vote for her. Just exactly what is that telling those Obama mammas!. I think beyond any shadow of doubt, that Obama is telling those super delegates that, if there is no clear cut winner by the time we reach the convention, you had better place the crown on my head or there will be trouble. I don't care what Obama has said about party coming together bla bla bla. in recent days, he and his wife stirred up the race issue sometime ago.

I was hoping and praying last night that Hillary would do exactly what she did.

Why? Because it was her fault? No. Because it shows yet again that she truly CARES about how minorities feel. That she is sorry people have been hurt. She puts herself in their shoes. She consistently shows brains, courage, heart and class despite the despicable names she has been called and lies that have been told.

Hillary (and Bill!) have always been enormous activists and legislators on behalf of minorities and those who don't have a voice. For decades. The black community has suffered so much and Hillary has been trying to help for more than 40 years!!! The racist smear campaign against the Clintons is evil and hurts everyone. Every time the media and others spin and lie they inflict more injury on the black community, making them feel hurt and abandoned by people they once trusted.

And what Hillary showed last night is that rather than thinking of how much the attacks have hurt her, she is more concerned about them.

That's a leader. And that's class.

I agree. It's infuriating to me that someone who has done so much for black people has to fight off accusations of racism, but she did the right thing.

Hillary just has class. You aren't born to that, it's an internal value system. She apologized, even though she rightfully did not have to. That shows she really cares.

Yet, Obama is not pressed to distance himself from his own pastor, even though that pastor makes comments like these: “Barack knows what it means living in a country and a culture that is controlled by rich white people, Hillary would never know that! Hillary ain’t never been called a ******. Hillary has never had a people defined as a non-person.” “Hillary is married to Bill, and Bill has been good to us. No he ain’t! Bill did us, just like he did Monica Lewinsky. He was riding dirty.” Here's the link (http://savagepolitics.com/), the disclaimer on the website linked states as follows: "This site is NOT related in ANY WAY to Right-Wing Political Pundit MICHAEL SAVAGE and it is NOT Partisan to ANY Political Party or Campaign!"

Hillary shouldn't have to apologize but I know she is doing this because she is a leader who can stand on her own. Anyone who knows Hillary and Bill know that they are not bigots--Obama is. Black voters need to be wary of Obama and see how he is causing great harm in America. He doesn't care and he will do anything to become president--even a race war--scary--but look at this mess--there are a great deal of blacks who are not supporting Obama--but just like Hillary supporters--these voices are not being heard--thanks to the MSM. Personally, I believe someone now needs to stand up to Obama and tell him and his campaign advisors, "play the race card and caused a riot, you break it, you will fix it." No one should be paying for riots or rebuilding communities over a candidate who is using the "race card" for his own personal advantage. Rush Limbaugh is putting a great deal out there today on his show--defending Geraldine and exposing Rev Wright...we need more of this from the right and left to put Obama on notice and black leaders who are acting on emotions and not rational.

HILLARY FOR PRESIDENT :):):)

This is one of the most ridiculous things I've read! The notion that Hillary should appologize for comments that had absolutely NO hint of racism in them....on behalf of her husband and Geraldine Ferraro. Both President Clinton and Ferraro have such wonderful records in civil liberty, civil rights , equality issues. This is the biggest piece of BS I've seen.
The only thing I take from this without getting sick is the possibility that this public appology will put a rest to all the BS about Ferraro and President Clinton. I think it is absolutely appauling that Obama would stoop this low! He will NEVER see the oval office because he's a whining , divisive and cheating loser!

I read that and it was disgusting. This level of hate from supposedly a man of the cloth. Barack Obama was raised like a middle-class white kid. The pastor is an ass.
