This list is to boycott products and their sponsors of Main Stream Media (MSM) whose moderators fail to uphold standards of human dignity. Refer to my thread of 3/12/08 for the full story.

For sponsorship of the 3/12/08 MSNBC Keith Olberman show with the entire program being biased and unprofessional, the boycott list begins with:

Best Western Motels
Lexmark Printers
Cialis (Eli Lilly Co)
Beneful Dog Food
Duracell
TD Ameritrade
Ameriprise
TheLadders.com
Toyota
Sheraton Hotels
Insight Cable
HealthSouth

Hey everyone!

Given the HUGE bias that the media has played in supporting one DNC candidate (Obama) over the other DNC candidate (Clinton), I am calling upon a FULL BOYCOTT of the networks and their holdings.

This thread is for letting everyone know what the networks are and their holdings, in other networks and products. Also, any advertisers on each network.

I am asking each of you to join in this boycott and to let each network know of your intention. Also, this thread is available to everyone to post information that they find where MSNBC and CNN have affiliations. I'm going to start off with a few findings and we'll expand from there. This must be a joint effort and we can all make a difference if we spread the word!

MSNBC -

NBC
Microsoft
Universal Records
General Electric

CNN -

TimeWarner which includes: America Online (AOL), HBO, Time Warner Cable, Warner Bros., Time, INC.

Turner Broadcasting System which includes: adultswim, Cartoon Network, TruTV.com, Crime Library, The Smoking Gun, GameTap, NASCAR.com, PGA.com, PGA Tour, Super Deluxe, TBS, TCM, TNT, Very Funny Ads.

Any further information? Come on!

You can't count on me, but now I'll have to get dial up service for my computer...lol

I've already fired off a letter to NBC and you can count me in on the boycott.

Want me to set up a petition?

A petition would be amazing! Let's get that set up as well. Show them that we mean business.

And honestly, it all goes down the line. There's a parent and then the children, grandchildren, and so on. Let's do our homework. Who knows, maybe if we have some of these products, we can sell them off and give the proceeds to Hillary.

A negative can become a positive!!!! Kudos to Reese! This boycott isn't about can, it's about WILL!!!!

I'm going to miss my Platinum Status at Starwood and my Amex:(

But I'll sell anything off to stop the madness (as Susan Powter would say) and show these people we mean business.

I'm setting up the petitions now.

Well, hopefully what we get rid of and what we don't support can be found with competing companies to show that we mean business. Less dollars for these companies and increased revenue to competitors will mean something.

Let's keep the list growing too in regards to who are companies under the umbrellas of MSNBC and CNN.

I'm ready to flip from Microsoft to Apple!

Well, Care2 Petitions has deleted my NBC and CNN one. They must be in on the Conspiracy as well. I'm going to find out who owns them!!!

You'll never go back!! I have all Macs and I wouldn't own a PC if they PAID ME!

Mac has one problem you should be aware of though.... it's TOO EASY..lol

It took me forever to remember that it only took one step to get something done instead of 10.

But on a good note, we have someone from the Netherlands who has signed!

Guys, I am totally down with this, and had signed a petition posted on No Quarter last night. It has occurred to me though, given the Gerry Ferarro situation, if we might create a sticky situation for the campaign. What are your thoughts? Should we run it by them?

Hey Southern,

The Petition I established is calling for a Fairness in Media (which is something the Republicans abolished)

The NBC one is more geared toward Olbermann, but I explicitly stated that his racially divisive comments had no place on America's airwaves. They should have no voice.

The petition makes no mention of HRC, merely the unconscionable act of a diatribe comparing ANYONE to David Duke.

I left any specifics about HRC out of it. I think any sensible citizen should be enraged by the commentary.

I'll have to keep that in mind. Now the hard part is trying to find a Mac that is cheap enough to purchase. They cost so much and then maintain their value! Darn them!

Awesome, thanks so much for doing this! And let's remember to keep our research going on the companies that they are involved with. It could be down to various soaps.

Btw, in relation to boycotting Universal Records, there's an easy way to still get your favorite music without giving them the sale. Use eBay, pawn shops, or used CD places. It's legal and they will see their sales drop more.

Start sending email to their marketing department, you can use multiple email accounts to increase count.
It works, let these companies know.
We should start this as movement.

I agree. I'm 100% for a Boycott. Let's hit them where it counts and let them know.

Btw, another network to boycott is USA Networks. They are in conjunction with NBC/Universal.

Debate in Philly
Thomas Fitzgerald reports: The Clinton and Obama campaigns have accepted invitations to a televised debate at the Constitution Center April 16. The clash will be broadcast by ABC News. U.S. Rep. Bob Brady and center CEO Joe Torsella had been working on convincing both sides for several weeks.

Here is my addition to the petition letter:

" What is needed is a realization that power without love is reckless and abusive, and love without power is sentimental and anemic. Power at its best is love implementing the demands of justice, and justice at its best is power correcting everything that stands against love. And this is what we must see as we move on. What has happened is that we have had it wrong and confused in our own country, and this has led Negro Americans in the past to seek their goals through power devoid of love and conscience.

This is leading a few extremists today to advocate for Negroes the same destructive and conscienceless power that they have justly abhorred in whites. It is precisely this collision of immoral power with powerless morality which constitutes the major crisis of our times."

Yes, I've already stopped watching NBC news - was disappointed in the political coverage, especially by Tim Russert, Andrea Mitchell and David Gregory. I'm now switching back and forth between ABC and CBS.

Signed. Thank you SantaCruzen for the MLK quote. If only all pastors could be as human. Dr. King was a man of dignity and character who never needed to be a victim. He relied on his own genuine power and high ideals to be his guiding light. He walked the walk.

This is great! Glad to see ABC getting in on the action. Here's hoping they will be much more fair than CNN and MSNBC!

REASON #1: 3/13/08 5:00 p.m. Hardball with Chris Matthews: Continuous, complete lack of objectivity. Bias as demonstrated by gushing and raving about Senator Obama, his book, his campaign. Bias demonstrated through voice inflection that could only be described as "kind and supportive" of Obama. Bias via voice inflections of sarcasm when refering to, or invoking Senator Clinton and her campaign for president. Mis-representing himself: masqueraded as a professional journalist and panel moderator all while interviewing three Obama fans or Clinton critics. Each Hardball segment should come with the "analyst disclosure" -
"Chris Matthews is for Obama, he hates Clinton, he will use every opportunity to push his own agenda (Obama) undermine her, her campaign and the people that believe in her campaign regardless of the accuracy of the topic's premise or conclusion."

REASON #2: 3/13/08 6:00 p.m. Tucker Carlson: very similar to prior notation regarding Chris Matthews in particular a lot of gushing for Obama versus criticism of Senator Clinton.

For these reasons, THE FOLLOWING COMPANIES or PRODUCTS ARE ON THE BOYCOTT LIST:
Best Western
Swiffer
AT&T
Centrum Silver
Apple Computer
TD Ameritrade
SILK Soy Milk
UPS
DoubleTree Inn
LexMark
Insight Cable
Nissan
Chevrolet
Saab
Glad Trash bags

i have boycotted them some time ago.
i basically am trying to follow PBS or the internet.
i have even written to the former owner ted turner to express my disgust!
it truly is terrible!
i sent many many letters to the editors of networks, print media, etc.
gone are the days of edward r. murrow.
such a shame!!!
