Sen. Barack Obama's pastor says blacks should not sing "God Bless America" but "God damn America."
Could anyone actually believe that someone running for the President of our great country would be not only associated but close friends and spiritually connected with a person like this. Where have we come as a nation. This is not right. Obama needs to go on a long vacation and get psychiatric care. Am I the only person that thinks this person will put our country in grave danger.

I can't shake the feeling that he would put our country and all Americans around the world in the gravest of danger. He doesn't think well on his feet and has no experience. Couple that with hubris and you get big trouble.
I think that's why the 3 am ad worked so well. It made people think about who they really felt was best to deal with serious problems. And they knew deep down it was Hillary.

shows who we are and our values. our associates are a direct reflection of ourselves, no if's and's or buts. i'm glad abc news is finally investigating obama's background.
I for one am deeply troubled by a "pastor" who uses the Lord's name in vain to make a point. "By their fruits shall ye know them," Jesus said.
THANKS FOR POSTING THE LINK.

No no, that guy's only his spiritual mentor/advisor for the past 20 years. Did I forget to emphasize spiritual?

I love how Obamabots are flaming Clinton for Geraldine's statements which were in no way racist and then again for her appologizing for her statements... (Which there was no need for) But Obama has been standing by this man for 20 years of his anti-semetic and racists views and still... nothing.
Sharpton threatens to riot in the streets if he doesn't get his way.... come on Obama get ready because in the North we don't hear Bamboozle and Hoodwink and think that sounds good... we hear racism... clear and think Rev. Wright.
I hope PA says "Welcome to the P. A. Bitch after knocking Obama out."
Sorry had an OC flashback. :p
I still don't know how some people can flame Geraldine Ferraro for speaking her mind yet be oblivious to this which is borderline unconstitutional! Why the hell does this not make news?
I'm waiting for the people over at Fox to comment on this...

In White House Obama will party and Al-Sharpton and his brand will destroy country. Oprah and Jerrmaih will be his spritual adviser.
Great future ahead for USA. Super power or super flop.
...as if the GOP will let him get to the White House if he's the nominee against McCain.

Below is a blog I posted on the Des Moines Register web site. Why Des Moines Iowa? Because, remember folks, the second phase of the Iowa caucus process is this weekend. ALL OF JOHN EDWARDS 15 DELEGATES ARE UP FOR GRABS. We need to blog in Iowa the next few days. I have a thread on this forum with news articles that state that the caucuses could tip the entire nominating process. That thread also has a few links that will be helpful.
Anyway, here is my Des Moines Register blog

This ABC Newsreport is very informative: "Obama's Pastor: God Damn America, U.S. to Blame for 9/11" "An ABC News review of dozens of Rev. Wright's sermons, offered for sale by the church, found repeated denunciations of the U.S. based on what he described as his reading of the Gospels and the treatment of black Americans. 'The government gives them the drugs, builds bigger prisons, passes a three-strike law and then wants us to sing 'God Bless America.' No, no, no, God damn America, that's in the Bible for killing innocent people," he said in a 2003 sermon. "God damn America for treating our citizens as less than human. God damn America for as long as she acts like she is God and she is supreme.'" Obama responded by saying , "I don't think my church is actually particularly controversial." Treason:
1. the offense of acting to overthrow one's government or to harm or kill its sovereign.
2. a violation of allegiance to one's sovereign or to one's state.
3. the betrayal of a trust or confidence; breach of faith; treachery.

I'm Episcopalian (the actual real American kind, not the anti-gay kind). For all of our perceived "political correctness," I have never heard a priest in the Episcopal church denounce the government or a people.
I think Obama's church is VERY controversial.

Finally, ABC is reporting on Obama's Pastor.

"The government gives them the drugs, builds bigger prisons, passes a three-strike law and then wants us to sing 'God Bless America.' God damn America for as long as she acts like she is God and she is supreme."
In addition to damning America, he told his congregation on the Sunday after Sept. 11, 2001 that the United States had brought on al Qaeda's attacks because of its own terrorism.

The really scary thing is that most of Obama's cult worshippers think this stuff is just fine (and I'm not talking only about African American supporters).
Here are some comments from another board when the subject of Obama's church/pastor was previously discussed:
I don't know about this church's preacher, but Obama doesn't necessarily have to agree with him on every important point. One should focus on any of Obama's beliefs that are allegedly disturbing.
...when a black man is religious you can't stand it
Seems mighty hypocritical too
...
Payback, its a beautiful thing.
And don't forget Jesus was black skinned.Though they wouldn't tell you that.
And isn't it funny how black people are Bush's saviors for his legacy,as he dances and does whatever it is he is doing in Africa this week.
And Viva Michelle! A breathe of fresh aire from the Stepford Wife Laura, the Zodiac loving Nancy with the dour face, BugEye Barbara with the Marge Simpson looks, and corrupt Hillary.Does anyone view Obama as a religious fanatic ? I surely don't... and that is what matters more than the particular leanings of a church he attends. When he starts infusing religion into every decision he makes... and starts preaching implicitly or explicitly then maybe there will be reason to be concerned. Wake me up when warning signs appear.... rather than conjecture about ifs, whens, and maybes.

They are not pro-Obama and will give this Rev. Wright material some coverage. Fox may have its own motivation, but at least people are being made aware of this guy.

It seems to me that Obama associates with a lot of questionable people, doesn't it?? Everything from Obama's inexperience, racial baiting, his controversial wife and the disgusting things that come out of her mouth, Rezko, Ayers, the minister, Farrahkan (sp?), etc. I agree that the mere thought of an Obama presidency scares me to death!
I am a person who has hated GWB throughout all these years, hate the Iraq War, etc. Yet I have never been afraid of terrorism and I live in NEW YORK!!! But the thought of Obama as president does scare me to death! I do believe he is very dangerous. He certainly is not the person he presents himself to be that's for sure. For a person who claims to be a "uniter", I have seen the greatest division in this country since the campaign has gotten down to just Obama and Hillary!!
Even Obama supporters are very scary. One such Obamabot on Hillary's blog posted that if we don't support Obama we are going to HELL!! That he is the "Father of us All". A lot of these people truly believe he is GOD!!!
I pray every day multiple times that Hillary will win this nomination and ultimately the election. If I NEVER heard the name Barack Obama ever again, it would be too soon for me!

Like you mentioned there are sooo many absolutely disgusting things about Obama and yet the media keeps spinning everything. Are they trying to push him to a nomination so he becomes the easy take down for McCain. I wonder.
This guy shouldn't even be in politics. He should be in a psychiatrists office somewhere getting deprogrammed of all that anti-American trash he has learned at his so called church.

No wonder Michele Obama is only proud of her country now that her husband is in the running.
Do they hate whites that much?
Can the Obamas not give credit to the people like the Clintons and the Freedom Riders and CORE and SNVCC and those Queens College students who were murdered so that the Obamas can today have high-paying jobs and seats on boards of directors? White students marched too. John Lewis must have forgotten about busloads of college kids from New York gthering in Atlanta. I haven't.
And I didn't see Obama there.
Does anyone think that Martin Luther King Jr or Reverend Williams would like to see this hateful election? I doubt it very much.

How is this for a kick in the pants. Obama's pastor, the one making those inflammatory statements, including saying "blacks should not sing 'God Bless America' but "God damn America." (http://abcnews.go.com/Blotter/story?id=4443788&page=1)(<<linked article) is officially a part of Obama's campaign per Dan Abrams show tonight. He sits on one of Obama's committees. And, get this, Obama's supporters are defending his presence, saying it is different because Obama's campaign has always been against devisiveness, whereas the Clinton campaign always had this current of using the race card.
What a crock! Hillary was castigated in the press for Ferraro's a statement - a statement Hillary did even not make and immediately distanced herself from - and the media's justification for that castigation was that Ferraro was officially a part of Hillary's campaign. Well, so to is Jeremiah Wright, Obama's pastor and Obama committee member.

Obama must go
Obama must quit the race now for the good of the party. He chose tobe a member of a racist church for 20 years. He gave 25,000 dollars to this church last year. He was married by a thugwho screams God Damn America! from the pulpit. His children werebaptised by the same thug. Blood is in the water. Obama has shown astunning lack of judgement and he deserves the full wrath of themislead voters. SuperDelegates take note! Right thinking Democrats indistricts across America are going to be up in arms. Switch to Clintonnow. Thanks to ABC news we now know the truth. Obama is a fraud. If heis the nominee he will win Washington DC and that is all. Not only do we need a Florida Michigan re-VOTE. WE NEED A NATIONAL REVOTE. OBAMA: LEAVE THE RACE NOW.

Nothing is perfect in this world. But America is so much better comparing to other countries. The facts show that so many people from other countries would like to come to America, not only to visit, but to live here. I’m one who made such choice. The government of USA has to make a certain limit for people from other countries to come legally and live here, because they are too many who want to come to this country. Are there many Americans who would do the same, in terms of moving to other countries and to live there and refuse their citizenship? I’m sure the answer is no!
Pastor Jeremiah Wright said things that are so horrible not only had he said that as a citizen, or as a person, and especially as a leader of a Christian congregation. I heard that he has about 8000 people in his church. That sure doesn’t reflect his Christianity, and a big question mark for his pastorship. Now, the more important question is why we have never heard about this before? Why his congregations have never disclosed about his speeches (only recently?), and why Obama as a candidate who wants to become a President of USA has never told the people of USA about these things? After all he criticized Hillary as a racist. Being an Asian-American I am now scared if he becomes elected as President (I pray to God that this won’t happen). Will he care for us, the Asian-Americans? I heard from people that the only bills that he sponsored since he joined the Senate and have become law are only two: “a bill to promote relief, security, and democracy in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, and a bill named a post office: “a bill to designate the facility of the United States Postal Service at 950 Missouri Ave in East St. Louis, Illinois, as the “Katherine Dunham Post Office Building”. Only that? It seems that they’re only related to black people! Now, who is racist?
The last but not the least, giving the fact that Obama has been so close with Pastor Jeremiah for 20 years, and knowing what he’s been saying in his speeches about changing the mind-set of the people in Washington and change the world, I think the first thing that Obama has to do before running as a presidential candidate is to change the mind-set of his pastor.
If he cannot control this Jeremiah Wright, how will he be able to lead this great nation!

When we discuss Rev. Wright, it's not just a conversation about the minister of Barack Obama's church of membership, we are talking about Obama's longtime close friend and mentor, perhaps the person of greatest influence on Obama. Obama has proudly admitted that it was Wright who delivered him from a life of skepticism and enable his strong identity with the African American community. They began their relationship in 1987, and Obama joined the Trinity United Church of Christ in 1988, by baptism. Rev. Wright took leave from his position just last month in preparation for his retirement from Trinity in May, but I'm sure that he will not retire from his fiery brand of black liberation theology religious-political activism for quite some time.
I certainly believe that 20 years of Rev. Wright's skilled and fiery preachings and teachings had much more impact on Obama than what Obama wants anyone to know.
While Ferraro must be deflowered in public, Rev Wright is definitely given free rein by virtually everyone to say whatever he damn well pleases, even though he is officially a member of the Obama campaign's "African American Religious Leadership Committee", according to "Renowned Faith Leaders Come Together to Support Obama - Unprecedented group of nation’s top Black religious leaders unveiled", PRESS RELEASE from Obama for America,Dec. 4, 2007. See
http://www.gwu.edu/~action/2008/obama/obama120407pr.html
I believe you should have linked the following video also. It's not divergent from Wright's customary fiery sermons, and it better communicates my point.

HillaryProblemSolver,
There was actually a major controversy around Super Tuesday regarding Obama and the Asian American community. A large Asian American political action committee had given a questionnaire to all Democratic candidates. All candidates answered the questions except Obama. Instead of answering the questions "yes" or "no" he was using platitudes and arbitrary language again. So the Asian American PAC (named 80/20) slammed his campaign and called him out on his hypocrisy.
This story was widely reported in San Francisco and Asian American newspapers. Hillary ultimately won over 70% of the Asian vote, which was 10% of the total.

This is a racist pastor who is preaching hate towards white americans and hate towards american. How can you unite a country when you are a 20 year member of a church that promotes this type of hate? If Clinton or McCain were a member of a church that promoted David Dukes values, the black community would be in an uproar and asking that they be removed as presidential nominees.
We cannot have this type of double standard.

We really have to work hard to stop his momentum. There is so much at stake. He’s just not right and unacceptable to be a President. I’m sure there will be other things that he’s been hiding from us. He is actually a racially polarized candidate and he’s been misleading people incredibly, and yet still manages to look clean.
obama has been talking much about his good judgment. When you see and hear something is not right going on around you and you just keep silent. Do you think that’s a good judgment? There are many things he’s been saying in his speeches that don’t fit with the facts. He’s a liar. He is so clever in twisting the facts. Hillary campaign has always been the victim of his tactic. We all have to be united to stop this man from ruining our society and our country!
Beware of him, he is dangerous!!!

BO is all confusion to me. His policy stance, his fllip flop on several issues (eg for/against public funding, war in iraq, nafta or not nafta); his lack of voting records, his rhetoric of change/hope but leave little details on what those are; his ideology that he is "new politics' while the rest (i.e. those who do not belong in his sheep fold) are all 'old washington style politics'; his self-declared image of clean politician but in reality he's as dirty as anyone or dirtier (throwing $ at superdelegates, pulling the race/victim card), and most of all his fuzzy background (association to Farakhan, AL Sharpon, Wright, Rezko, Exelon). Also, his impatience to quickly ascend to the throne of the president of USA at age 46 without even finishing his term as senator (which he promised he will do so) makes me all the more uncomfortable -- what is his motive? Is there hidden agenda?
You tell me : does this person remotely seem to you as one who is "Right on the 1st Day"? Able to take the 3am call?
He will be disaster for America!! No to Obama.
