If Obama's the nominee, we will see no end of this kind of stuff. And there's probably some small benefit of getting a preview. But the simple fact is that we wouldn't be seeing this stuff now if it weren't for the fact that this is the kind of campaign Hillary Clinton's campaign has decided to wage -- often directly and at other times indirectly by not reining it in in her supporters when it crops up on its own. Wright is news today because Ferraro's been news yesterday. Are her comments racist? That's a loaded, too copious, word. And there've been cases where the Clinton team has gotten a bum rap on these matters. What I do know, however, is that Clinton's campaign and her surrogates have injected the subject of Obama's race into this campaign too many times now for it to be credible to believe that it is anything but a conscious strategy."Wright is news today because Ferraro's been news yesterday."
Really???
The media should have run the Rev. Wright story a long, long time ago.
Unbelievable.

Yes, it took a great deal for me to thank Hannity, but only Fox seems concerned about this. For their own reasons, of course. But, I don't care what their reasons are, they've brought it to the forefront and his scrawny behind can't run from this one.!!!

If the sky were falling they would blame it on Hillary. I think the media and Obama have poisoned the public perception of Hillary so much now that all they have to do is blame her for every little thing negative about Nobama. Can't wait to see how they blame the Rezko trial on HRC!

Patrice in LA,
I agree, no matter what goes wrong the first instinct is the "blame it on Hillary." It's kind of like how bratty and ungrateful kids blame everything on their mom who is working hard to make ends meet for them.
I wonder if it has anything to do with that. It's a male driven system as we know.

Greetings All -
I am new to this Forum. This happens to be my first Post. I was brought here from a posting on Hillary's Official Site and decided to check it out. So while scanning through the various entries, Topics concerning & regarding the 'destroy Hillary at all cost Media Monster' are the most interesting & important to me simply because those very people have a 24hr Microphone that spew forth a barrage of mis-informative biased charges geared to an Audience they are all convinced very impressionable and subject to believing the Network News Media is bound to be accurate and therefore what they claim is truth must be truth.
I feel extremely sorry for the Clintons'. Hillary has not had the good fortune of just waging a contest against Obama but she's had to fight the Media as well and to be quite honest, the fact that she hasn't folded suggest to me, she has more than proven her ability to not only withstand the attacks from Obama's Team but the Bias Media and still hold her ground should be proof enough for anyone to see, this Lady is for real and would probably become one of the best Presidents this Country has ever had in recent history.
Even the Media's attempt at poisoning the minds of many by suggesting a Vote for Hillary is really a Vote for Bill's 'Third Term' is more than ridiculous, it's insane. I personally feel a sense of comfort in knowing Hillary as President with a former President as her husband who knows the inside and workings of International relationships along with his popularity around the World is nothing less than a huge plus for her.
I wish to conclude by saying this, I am a Black American Citizen, who liked Barack Obama from the moment I first became aware of him in 2004 during the Kerry / Edwards Democratic Convention. Although I was impressed with his ability to give a speech and now I guess we see where his speech lessons have come from, that didn't necessarily equate one who is ready for Primetime.
What Geraldine Ferraro was saying made all the sense in the World to me and I was not offended by her statements and neither was Obama. I'm quite sure Obama understood what she meant but unfortunately Mrs. Ferraro provided a Soundbyte for His Team to use as a tactic to say, "There they go again with the Race Stuff. oh we are so distressed over this."
This made me laugh because to proof of what Ferraro was suggesting is right in front of our faces. During these Primaries & Caucasus Contest, my Race has been going to the Polls in larger numbers than ever before in American History to support the first Black Man they felt had a real chance of getting into the White House. My people are NOT going to the Polls in these numbers because they feel Mr. We really don't see Color is what we feel is the best choice for America right now.
If you were to remove the number of Blacks that have voted for Obama that have no idea what he stands for but are simply supporting him because of his RACE, Obama would be getting more like 20% of the Black Vote instead of this 80% to 90% he's been enjoying and that's what Geraldine is saying and quite frankly she's right about this. I think for the Media to SPIN this as her being racist and throwing Race back into it again, is a travesty.
BTW, Thank You for the Invite and I hope to be a Good Member that gets to celebrate a Hillary Clinton Win for President of the United States.

I don't think the Hill camp had anything to do with this. She has run a positive campaign against all odds.
If this was an intended leak from anybody, shouldn't it be known?
BO has a lot of unethical, criminal like behavior in his background.
We The People want to know our candidates so we can make an informed judgement as to who to vote for.

Is this the sort of preaching that Obama listens to every sunday? How amusing that he can call the Clintons racist! Is he going to backpedal from his church, now? This doesn't make him look very good at all and I don't see how it can be pinned on the Clintons...I mean, the pastor is saying it, it's not rumor.

I wish to conclude by saying this, I am a Black American Citizen...
And we need to hear your voice in here. We know there are many in the African-American community who do not support Barack Obama but their views are getting ZERO coverage. Your voice will get heard here so I welcome you to speak up!
Moving this one to the main room for now as it's become a "hot topic" !

Welcome to the forum. I am also a fairly new member.
Thank you for being so open and honest regarding your thoughts and opinions of Obama.
Here in Pittsburgh during a few surveys on the local newscasts a question was posed to some members of the black community as to why they are supporting Sen. Obama, in which case all replies were "because he is black".
I wish that that when newscasters were interviewing these people, they would follow up with " well what is it about their VOTING record that makes you want to endorse the candidate"? Unreal..........

One word for Obama followers: unbelievable!
They said we should be more rational and take into account that Wright's preaching was just opinion. What about Ferrero? Why couldn't they be rational about it? Her message was no where compared to Wrights. What a bunch of hypocrites. Some even said what Wright said was just the truth.
Have they gotten insane? What is going on with half the american people?

Yes they threw me of the Democratic underground for just mentioning this preacher's rant in rebuttal to what Geraldine was supposed to have meant ( by Obama's supporters.)
Hillary is not getting a real public voice now anywhere. Most of the blogs have been taken over by Obama supporters and the fair unbiased news is non-existant.
Yes< Hillary is a good person, an extremely intelligent person and has the ability to get things done, but what is her strongest suit is her great strength. If she wades through the super mounds of hate and vilification and gets this nomination she will prove herself as almost a super woman. We must stay strong advocates for her and have her back as much as possible even when the news media and blogs shut us out.
I thank every one of you here and all who support her. I believe she is the only qualified person right now to restore our country back to greatness and solvency.
I made many calls today and will resume tonight.
I hear she will visit Indiana . I am in Ohio but live close to Richmond, indiana. I will try to get there to see her if she stops in Richmnd.

Sincere, do you think the less than fanatical members of the AA community may be swayed by some of the stuff that is coming out? At the beginning of the campaign a number of my friends (AA) acknowledged they prospered during the Clinton years but felt they had to support BO as an African American. Are people willing to discuss it with you or are they totally beyond that? We (all of us) have so much to loose if Hillary is not elected.

Are people willing to discuss it with you or are they totally beyond that? We (all of us) have so much to loose if Hillary is not elected.
There are of course two main schools of thought concerning this issue.
1. You are Black and you must get the first Black man who has a real chance of winning into the White House regardless of what you find out about him because the Big Picture will be far greater for us as a People than what Obama (the person) really stands for.
* The ideology here is simple and I will be the first to admit the obvious. Of all the Nationalities that have prospered in America, my Race (who have been here since the early 1700s' or possibly sooner, have unfortunately remained nearer the bottom of the food chain than any other Nationality. I would love to elaborate on this much more however the reading would be far too long and involved. So just to outline as much as possible, when you think about the Races that are considered Minorities in America, which I will even include the Eastern Indians, Cubans, Filipinos, Japanese, Chinese, Puerto Ricans and Mexicans, our Race has felt these groups have surpassed us in financial gains and social recognition. At this very moment, we are still contending with larger numbers incarcerated, low income housing and drug related problems than any other Minority group.
It is no secret that a young Black teenage committing a criminal offense is 10 times more likely to get jail time than his equal counterpart of different Nationalities. Asian groups are least likely due to their respective Country's political influences in our Government.
Who is truly to blame for these and other conditions? Well popular thinking would say Now this is important so pay attention that my Race is still to this day subject to the never ending Oppression perpetrated by White Americans whose steadfast philosophy throughout the Country, is manage any possible contentions by throwing the proverbial 'Bone' the selected Black individuals that would suggest we are doing just fine and it's getting better.
Hell, nobody even makes that big a deal of mixed couples any more and to see a Black man & White woman kiss in a movie is no longer openly frowned upon. However at the end of the day, property values still decrease when a number of Black inhabit any congested area of a town or city. So to have a Black man finally get to the Big Room, would finally get us (collectively) a seat at the Table and things will begin to change because President Obama will begin to legislate laws aimed at reducing prison sentences for minor or harmless crimes, such as teenagers who are caught smoking crack or stealing cars. So I guess the so-called self appointed Leaders of our Race intend to use Mr. Obama as a tool for equality.
2. The second School of Thought here is, regardless of what is told, discovered or suggested about Obama will be looked upon as nothing more than a trumped up lie to discredit a legitimate Black Contender to the White House. Even if Mr. Obama got drunk and ran his car into a SUV killing an entire family, sadly I'd wager a good 40% of my people would not believe it and simply think these are the lies and distortions that they expected to keep the Black man down.
* The only reason Hillary Clinton is somewhat being blamed for anything negative that comes out about Obama is because she is his main adversary at the moment. My people truly believe once Hillary is out of the way, the White House is all but ours, oh I mean his... if you get my point? Do not be deceived by those National Polls that suggest McCain could possibly beat Obama in the General Election. If Obama gets the nomination, every Black person in America that can vote will be basically forced to vote, like it or not.
I suppose many here might wonder why am I different? Well I guess it's because I'm older & wiser than those of conventional thinking. I'm what you refer to as 'Old School'. I'm still stuck in that phase of thinking the most qualified should get the position. I've worked in companies that were Union controlled and I can't tell you how many times, I've witnessed people getting promotions and/or positions solely because of their tenure on the job despite the fact that others who applied were better suited. And people who are Slackers but are enjoying equal pay with those who truly pull their weight and consistently prove themselves an asset to the company.
We live in a World that is blatantly unfair and unjust and the saying that I heard when I was a young kid stuck with me throughout my life, "You are either part of the solution or you're part of the problem" I suppose I wanted to go to my grave knowing I was a good advocate for my Race. I've managed to keep out of jail, I only smoked pot during my teens and subsequently grew up and out of that because I realized it was basically a huge waste of time, energy & money.
I must end by shocking you all with this statement. I am not a Troll (btw, I just recently learned what that was from my daughter, who gave me a lesson in Forum etiquette so I wouldn't embarrass myself she claims) and I am truly what I am claiming to be. Which is not for any special treatment or consideration but simply to illustrate that if there is one, there are more who probably think as I do about this election.
We are our own worse enemy as I see it. When it came to making a life for myself, I did not for one second feel anything was owed to me because I was Black. I do not subscribe to the quota theory and the basic equation of education, determination & hard work are the only ingredients of success that matter in my opinion. If I want something, I either work for it or forget about it.
Nothing in this World is so important that you should justify taking another person's life to get it or subjecting yourself to possible prison. I have never allowed objects to be so important that I would be willing to sacrifice my integrity or moral values.
Two beautiful girls lost their lives last week because two Black teenagers that are a small sampling of the thousands of Black Teenagers in our Country who have not been educated in what taking a life really means. We didn't just lose two young girls for no good reason, those acts not only destroyed the families of those girls but the families of the perpetrators as well not to mention what contributions to society they or their children might have brought forth or the children of their children. For all we know, one of those unfortunate young girls could have had a child that grew up to become the President of the United States or the very person that solved a medical mystery or maybe even the greatest Ambassador of Equal Rights this World has ever witnessed.
Every life is precious and yet those so-called self appointed Black Leaders in our Country 40 years after the death of Dr.Martin Luther King, people like Al Sharpton, Jesse Jackson, Marion Barry, Martin King Jr. and others are still looking to Washington D.C. to solve the problems of our Inner City Youth, Teenage Pregnancy amongst young Black women that force Tax Payers to foot the Bill, Inadequate Education in Urban Areas, Drug Infested Neighborhoods on our Urban streets and something that is being greatly ignored by our Black Leaders is this allowance that permits our Black Teens to maintain a language or dialect and manor of dress that would never grant us any real consideration for higher levels of employment other than Clerks in Hardware, Grocery or Fast Food Outlets.
Our children have stopped looking toward their parents for guidance and made a collective decision that if they want money given the tools they have to work with, they might as well go out and take it. And in case anyone is totally dumb and stupid, these very kids that are killing each other and innocent victims as well, these are not necessarily acts of a Primal Species prone to violence but in my opinion actions of an angry child that can't understand why he was born to parents of a Race that as a whole, have failed to do the hard work and unit as one people like other Nationalities have successfully done. We are Separatist with a consciousness of individuality rather than bonding together to help each other collectively get ahead.
Those Leaders have failed to make a difference and now we are hoping to force Obama to do it for us. Should Obama succeed in winning the nomination & Presidency, he will begin to have a whole bunch of Black Folk at his door saying, "Ok Obama, we got you in now how do you plan to pay us back?"
I am truly a shamed of the Women in this Country for not seeing the big picture in how important it is for a woman to finally break through. Aside from the Black issues I've explained and more, Women are and have been oppressed not only in this Country but around the World far too long. In many Countries, it is still acceptable to kill a woman if you can just give a valid reason as to why you did it and sometimes those reasons are as insane as a father or husband claiming he can't afford the female child because she would not be able to plow the field or do the manual labor required for survival that a son will be able to do.
Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton, went to China and stood in front of the Chinese Government and told them to their faces what she thought about how they treated their women and it needs to stop immediately. No male representative from the United States would have dared make such a statement. This lady has big ones and I gotta say, I love her for it ... she's not afraid of anyone and yet at the same time, she's level headed enough to understand diplomacy to not start Wars all over the place.
If, We Americans, squander this opportunity to elect arguably the brightest Woman this Country has on the Political front, sadly it will be a testament to how far we still must travel before we can truly understand why we are here.
I am so sorry for the Speech .. please accept my apology and I will not do this again but this Member touched a nerve ..

Wow. That was a fantastic essay. You should think about posting that elsewhere... or sending it 'viral' (as the kids say) through the email.
You have written a stunning endorsement of Hillary and why she would make a strong, level-headed President and how being a woman, though it isn't the reason, it is an enhancement.
As for your assessment of the aftermath if Obama is elected and how he will deal with a whole section of the American community asking what he's gonna do for them now that they've elected him... I have wondered myself what the Black community is thinking will suddenly change if he were elected?
As a woman, I don't expect that the world is suddenly going to be an understanding and gentle place if Hillary is elected. I just think it's going to be more compassionate and, though not perfect, it will be more fair and just... to a small degree, depending on her opposition in Congress. I'm not sure what Obama expects to change/do. But I suspect his followers/supporters expect a whole new world. It would be interesting to ask them what they envision--in detail--would be different if he were to win. Unfortunately, talking to his supporters is impossible... they bite back and attack like it's 2004 again. Sad.
Thanks for writing such a focused essay-- are you a professional writer or a scholar, per chance?

America has become so politically correct, it's annoying. You really cannot say anything anymore because of people sitting around, waiting to pounce. Geraldine does not look like a redneck to me. I doubt she's racist. What I do see is bluntness. She's brutally blunt because no one wants to see the 45-pound gorilla in the room.
And, oh, my Asian race is now being accused of being racists, too, because most of us voted for Mrs. Bill. The media says we are, so I guess we'll have to swallow that pill for now.

What if it did come out of the Clinton campaign? Exposing questionable behavior of a man who's running a Mr. Smith Goes To Washington campaign is hardly dirty politics.
This is dirty politics:
Michelle Obama at a day care center in Zanesville, Ohio, where the median income and percentage of adults with college degrees are below the national average, tells a group of women not to go into lucrative professions like corporate law or hedge fund management.
In the words of Rush Limbaugh: Michelle kicked Hillary in the uterus!
Everything Michelle Obama said at this day care center was bizarre on a lot of levels but the reference to the hedge fund was a direct attack on Hillary. Chelsea Clinton is in hedge fund management. This is a must read article!
http://corner.nationalreview.com/post/?q=OTViZjhhNGI1Y2QxYjE0ZDc0YmMwMjJiNmUyZjQ3MmU=
Another example of dirty politics is Michelle Obama's comment: "if you can't run your own house, you can't run the White House. ...can't do it"
and then there's the buisness of the maxim Thorne emails.

In the beginning when the Iowa Caucus was just starting, I will admit I was open in seeing which Candidate impressed me more. Two things happened rather quickly:
1. By time they all had there 3rd Debate, I was firmly in Hillary Clinton's corner and leaving a crack to allow the others the opportunity to change my mind.
* That crack immediately closed when the second thing happened ...
2. This is what prompted me into writing to the DNC addressed to Howard Dean. Barack Obama & John Edwards began a relentless attack on Hillary Clinton that transcended way beyond what I thought was reasonable being they were all on the same Team (supposedly)
Obama made claim that he has tried to run a positive, above the fray style Campaign as well as Edwards making the same claim and I kept asking my wife, was I the only person remaining in America that saw just the opposite from these two?
I am certain John McCain against Hillary Clinton in the General Election would never attack her credibility in the manner Obama & Edwards did from the very beginning and YET the Media basically pretended this wasn't happening when all of a sudden students were coming out for Obama.
!!!! This was the huge turn of events for Hillary that turned the Media against her. The collective reasoning here was, this could be possibly the first time in history the Young Voters are paying attention to the Election and actually showing up at the Polls and they didn't want to disrupt that trend. If the Media began to disenchant these young Voters by telling them their Knight in Shinning Armour wore black underwear, we could lose them forever and it could be years before they picked their heads up again to support their Government.
So Hillary Clinton was then deemed the 'Enemy of Progress'. I mean what will this Country do if our young continue to stay away? The established Congressional Leaders can't stay in Office forever and sooner or later we are going to need these kids to participate AND if Barack Obama is willing to provide the catalyst for this transition of thought, they will assist him by distorting the facts, burying any questionable facts about Obama and playing up anything positive he might attempt to stand for.
People don't you get it ? The writing has been on the Wall right in front of your faces all along ..
Young Voters, Black Voters, Hispanic Voters are getting tuned into a political structure that is flawed and shall remain flawed but Obama is being prepped into telling them, as long as they get him in, he'll fix it finally
If you have ever believed in Conspiracies, then this is probably the biggest since the Kennedy assassination. Of Course the Media knows it's being completely unfair to the Clintons but unfortunately Hillary is being sacrificed for what Congress feels is the greater good right now. Nobody really believes Obama is going to change a damn thing in Washington.
Just think about what he is being told to say ....
1. "Washington is the place where good ideas go to die"
That is pretty much a slap in the face of every person that is endorsing him that's currently in Washington, basically saying they are doing nothing but taking our Tax Dollars.
2. "The time has come to move away from the Old Washington Establishment"
My friends you need to wash the sleep from your eyes on this one, especially when at the very moment Obama is spewing those words from his mouth, he is standing next to Ted Kennedy & John Kerry, who typify the very people Obama is talking about. Certainly he couldn't be referring to Hillary Clinton who is only in her 2nd Term is a Senator. Chris Dodd, has been the Senator from Connecticut since Moses was around but as long as these are endorsements, it's fair game as Obama sees it.
3. "I was against the War from the beginning and voted NO on allowing the President to wage it."
Again and for the last time my friends, Barack Obama wasn't a Senator when Congress voted to strike Iraq. He claims he voted against the War on Iraq, well I'd sure like to know what vote he's talking about. Could it be a Straw Poll in his local Barber Shop, because it wasn't in Washington.
Not to mention, each & every person that was in Washington at the time, who is endorsing Obama, did vote to allow the War. Where's the man's integrity? If he's so passionate about his stand against the War, why allow those who supported the War, claim they now have some sort of credibility?
4. John Edwards hasn't endorsed Obama and if you are wondering why, the answer is simple. John Edwards & Hillary Clinton are not the best of friends which only leaves Obama. However Edwards has two basic problems endorsing Obama.
(a) His own Running Mate endorsed Obama over him which was a stab in the back and the fact that Obama allowed it, suggested to me that Obama doesn't give a crap about integrity as long as he wins.
(b) John Edwards, is very much aware of the tactics the Obama people are using along with the Media's help and even though he can't bring himself to endorsing Hillary because of Edward's wife Elizabeth, who is the real wall between them, John would be going against his own principles in supporting Obama.
The mere fact that Hillary Clinton has not yet been stomped out is driving the real culprit crazy, which is the Media Machine. They are beginning to wonder if Obama truly is the right person for the job. Lately, I've been hearing small little lines injected by some Talking Heads that Obama has to be careful that he's not showing signs of weakness by not winning the Swing States and maybe Clinton could actually be the strongest Candidate. This is the only reason you heard John King talking about Hillary's possible chance of gaining more delegates.
The only time Chris Matthews said anything nice about Hillary was right after Hillary gave him a kiss on the cheek in New Hampshire. Chris Matthews is probably one of the biggest ego maniacs in Washington. If I were Hillary, I'd invite Chris out for dinner (often) just to hang out. Not even to talk politics but just to make him feel she really truly likes him and wants to be his friend.
If Hillary did that, Chris Matthews would do an immediate 180 in support of her over Obama and start suggesting to people that Hillary might be the strongest after all.
Good Night Folks ... too much coffee is my problem. My daughter thinks I'm crazy and my wife thinks I'm wasting my time but we know better.

It became clear a long time ago that the media couldn't be counted on to report fair information about the candidates. I had to turn to the internet to get an understanding of what was going on.
I think Obama has been playing the 'make everyone in the political world and beyond like me and think I'm going to help them' game for a long time. I think it's why the politicians have endorsed him and it's why we know little about him. In my opinion, they can't wait to use him. Can you imagine what would happen if he did become president? Four years of GRIDLOCK!!
