Anderson cooper is a assignment reporter for Oprah. Does she have money in CNN too. That women has way to much power. my mom is 70 and she is furious with Oprah and blames her for this whole mess. I kinda blew off the idea, But Im thinking she is not so far off thinking now. What are your thoughts?

I completely agree. Oprah is a major culprit here. She acted for racial solidarity rather than the best interest of the US.

I actually respected her before she came out. I have nothing but negativity to express about her now. She should have kept her nose out of a place it didn't belong. She will now see that her own career will soon end. She messed with the real feminist icon and in turn has lost any sympathy anyone ever had for her. She single handedly tried to block the first viable female candidate for president. Oprah is a major disappointment and has been sullied forever by her irresponsible actions.

I hope no one supports her or her show. She is the first one anyone should boycott. She is largely responsible for this mess. It's time for her career to end.

For the past two Presidential elections before this one, Oprah called out to all women voters to stand up and make a difference in selecting a President who will make a difference for women's related issues.

Once she backed Obama, I knew that she was just another hypocrite. She doesn't care about women's issues. She had a show about a year back about the deformation of the black female identity by the black male rapper. How rappers use foul language to describe women in the majority of their music, and how she felt it should be changed. Well, Obama's first victory rally after Iowa had Jay Z's "99 Problems (but a bitch ain't one)" blaring on the speakers. Instead of having an eye opening epiphany regarding how Obama doesn't care about women's issues, only their votes...she decided to back him BIG.

I don't watch Oprah anymore. If I have the time to watch TV in the afternoons for recreation, I watch Ellen. Oprah can stick it up her self-righteous behind as far as I am concerned.

oprah only cares about oprah.

remember her school in africa? she said she would not help the poor kids in america "because all they want are nikes and ipods". that just might be because they see all that on tv and at school and cannot afford to have them. that doesn't mean they are undeserving of a good education. that really turned me off her.

In my opinion Oprah is nothing compared to the entire Banking Industry and the rest of Wall St that funds BO. Then he gets up there and lies that he doesn't take corporate or lobbyist money--only money from the "employees" of those companies... he leaves out that those "employees" are NOT the everyday workers making $7 or $10 an hour but the SHAREHOLDERS, OWNERS and PRESIDENTS of the biggest Bank and Corporate Industries! Those are the "employees" that funnel..er, I mean "contribue" money to him. And they've been rewarded as bO broke rank with the Dems in the Sentate and Voted FOR the biggest banking industry bill that the Industry worked for years to push though. Couple that with BO wanting to vote to confirm Robetts to the Supreme Court and well.... to me Opraha's support is just the razzle dazzle so no one looks behind the curtain and sees what kind of man he really is.

With the Media continuing their lapdog approach to reporting, and AAR turning into Air Obama, Oh, where is somoene like Mr. Murrow when you need him?!?! The closest I can think of is Greg Palast...does anyone know if he's declared support for Hillary or that other guy?

Mind you, I once had a lot of respect for Oprah, in that everything she's got she created with her own bare hands. I have to give her credit for that.

HOWEVER, I started being suspicious of Oprah when she started her book club. I don't like the way she talks down to people when she makes her heavily-financed-by-publishers recommendations. She treats people as if they were borderline illiterate by telling them what to read when I have serious doubts that she reads any of the selections she recommends (James Frey, anyone?).

When she got on stage some months ago with the Kennedy cousins in California and said "I'm not voting for him because he's black....", that's what made me lose total respect for her. Mind you, if you want to vote for a candidate because of race, by all means do so, but don't be so pathetic as make it seem as if race isn't an issue to you.

I have made a point not to watch anything Oprah is in for months. She had a show on before 9/11 that she said we should go to Iraq because the people are treated bad and they want us over there. I wish I knew what show it was but I know she said it.

Tell everyone you know not to watch her. She how powerful she'll be without white women backing her up.

Yes, I have been discouraged with O for awhile and only occasionally watch to see who was on-for me about 3 years ago it was TOO MUCH "O" sadly unlike Seinfeild she doesn't know when to go and now I believe single handedly has interupted our political process and has set back race relations along time... though I think that was coming even without current political events in fact there is O's school in Africa (notice how we never heard more than one day the abuse situation that went on there... also she now hosts an AA ONLY dinner to recognize everyone and has been working tirelessly with ONLY AA actors for at least the last 5 years producting various shows and interesting to note all in the name of doing good deeds -bring hope to people changing their lives, sound familiar... now she has a new show (not watching it... giving away million dollars for others to help someone...) she broke with MAYA ANGELOU who continues to support HILLARY CLINTON -whenever BO is in trouble notice he brings out O and now sure enough she is back... WE NEED IDEAS TO BE ABLE TO COUNTER this... maybe SNL will come up with something -I WANT TO BELIEVE that PA will see through this but it is sad how some give up their vote andthinking for O because she says so.... that is why the TX cattle association took her to court because they believed her saying something was that impressionalbe... she was not charged and of course that is where Dr. Phil came in and helped her through the O drama that everyone didn't like her and would sue her or try to... probably the cattle ranchers didn't have a chance she ended up doing the whole show there for months! and then Dr. Phil was on her show and then he has is own show .... TOO MUCH O... BO on David Letterman some time ago joked O would be VP now it just feels scary....

YES, I completely agree with your mother and her double standards for children of America that O unduly influenced this election and will continue to do so... maybe people need to be reminded about why she took her school to Africa... I wonder though in our country would she be able to have an all AA school? mmm thinking NOT! this whole thing is just not right... WE NEED TO get back to issues and who is the BEST FOR THE JOB... and O is only one person who gets to vote and she cannot CONTROL anyone unless they let her... new slogan SAY "NO" to O and BO and VOTE FOR REAL PERSON who is already CHANGING THINGS SENATOR HILLARY RODHAM CLINTON!!!!!! :)

I have sent an email to Oprah reminded her that we can be wrong something.

I reminded her of the book scandal, when she was fooled by the author who made up stories in the book ""A Million Little Pieces", which turned out to be "A million little lies". I told Oprah that she's very much in the same position with Obama.

I told her of the invisible people in Chicago district 13, who had to live without heat for 5 weeks in winter. I told her to step back and look at the whole thing with open eyes. Oprah, don't be fooled again.

You can send her email at this link.

I have not watched her show in over 10 years. She got to full over herself for me. She is a racist to the fullest. When she came out in support of bo I knew we were in trouble. I read some where that she goes to the same church as bo, does anyone know if that is true? It would explain why she opened a school in Africa rather than helping out our American kids..........maybe she did not know that some of those poor American kids were African American.........

Can't stand Oprah, I wont even watch her show if there is someone on it I like. Nope ain't happing here.

Ellen is much much better. She has a greatest show and does lots to help out others. From what I could gather I think she is all for Hillary, but I could be wrong.

True. And I am glad you are willing to call it out!

Oprah is just another "vehicle" for Obama to get through his message of division and disunity. And how laughable that Obama claims to be "for the people", and not linked to "special interests", when he has some of the most powerful/rich people (Oprah) and institutions (media) in society colluding with him in his narcissistic drive for power.

I don't think Oprah has that much clout now. She has money and some power but in the really infuences circles of politics and old money, she has no clout. She wants to chance that and she saw her chance with Obama.
If he gets elected, she will have clout coming from the Whitehouse.
Just think we could have Oprah and Al Sharpton and Lewis Farraghan and Obama's minister sitting on his cabinet.

I think Oprah has a LOT of pull when it comes to Americans. Maybe TOO much. Yes, she has worked her way out of having nothing to having EVERYTHING. She does give quite a lot back in terms of charity as well as education.

BUT....how much does she really know about BO and what his plans are if he were to become President?

Early in the campaign, it was said that the hoorah's that she attented for BO and spoke at, there was a LARGE crowd.....and then when she left, so did the large crowd.

And I think it should also be noticed that her tie to him is no longer reported (from what I have seen). What is her opinion now? Does she really matter in his campaign anymore?

Oprah’s boards burning with Wright responses; Wright accuses America of creating the HIV virus

"As I noted earlier, the Rev. Jeremiah Wright has more than one high-profile member in his congregation. Besides presidential hopeful Barack Obama, Wright also preaches his message to Oprah Winfrey, one of the most successful and beloved media personalities in America. She has an active on-line community at Oprah.com, and her forums have had almost 300 posts from members in the past 24 hours after the revelations of race-baiting and hatred at Trinity United Church. Uh-huh - That purse shop (Hermes) is a boutique 99% of her audience can on dream of affording!

They didn't open the doors because they weren't open for business yet and she had her head turned away.

We all know that big name stars can shop when they want. Had she contacted Hermes, they would have had a personal shopper for her after or before hours. She knew that. That was the whole point of her making the scene to cry racism and get pity.

She needs to hop on down now. This is the second "known" plagiarist she's backed.

And look at the corruption at her school in South Africa.

Charity begins at home and this just shows where she thinks her home is.

that's what they said about o.j.simpson, "he is black, therefore he is innocent"

why would oprah make that distinction unless she felt a need to bring it up

ask any black why they are voting for the racist divide obama, because he is black, that's it in the nutshell, he has no substance to anything he mentions

has he spoken about the issues at all in this country, "the 3:00 a.m. phone call was precisely for him, he would not even bother answering it, get back to you in the morning"

he knows nothing, will do nothing

be sure of your vote!

I confess I used to watch O when I was in college. I used to pick my classes not to miss her show. I started feeling uncomfortable during the last 20 years and questioning her agenda when she was always pushing the next big black actor for Oscar,... It became apparent to me after watching her shows and the preferential treatment of African American all these years that she prefers her race. All the movies she has invested in are movies about African Americans not woman's right or children's right. I stopped watching her 4-5 years ago all together.
I sent O a comment when BO's wife made her comment about her proud moment.

It's funny but I have never liked Oprah. My family and friends have always thought it was strange, and akin to being un-American. I remember the first time I mentioned it at work people jumped all over me! They couldn't believe it and spent a lot of time trying to convince me why I should like her.

I've always thought everything she did was about her not the people she was reportedly helping.

First, I have never been a fan of Oprahs. I understood she had large audiences but that did not cause me to watch even then.
I understand she does deal with some real issues on her shows at times.
When she came out for Obama, I kinda understood, but when speaking at a big rally she kept, in a preaching like voice mode, mentioning MLK and have far they had come and indicated that it was BOs time, I had second thoughts.
She was in that way actually bringing race into the election process. Then - from then on the Obama campaign kept saying others were bringing race into the election process.
Can't have it both ways if you have integrity. I believe Obama has played the race card to the hilt and we should not let him win with it while trashing Hillary.

I am a European-American woman, and I have absolutely no shame about this. I worked for Amnesty International for three years. I saw for myself which countries non-Caucasians begged to be allowed into. They wanted to get into nations ruled by Caucasians and escape the nations ruled by members of their own race so don't even start with me that I owe Barack Obama the moon and the stars because he is black, and I do believe in equal opportunity for everyone.

Oprah is a racist, and I knew it before the Clinton and Obama primaries.

Back in the day when Oprah was all fresh and new she put out a great show, when it was really just Donahue, Oprah and Sally. The last few years her show became the QVC or HSN contantly hawking products, slobbering over whatever celebrity is hot that week and her ultra boring book club.

I had some respect for her, being a powerful woman who worked hard to get where she is today but once she jumped into political endorsements then I was done with her. I remeber her having Bill, Hillary and Al all on her show and now? Nada.

I am a little concerned as to Oprah's personal judgement.

Example #1 in regards to her judgement. Some one mentioned in earlier post on this thread about the author that duped her. With his "Million litTle lies" book.

Example # 2 in regards to her judgement. Then she hand picked the people that attended her school as well as the ones hired at that school. I believe she even boasted as to how hands on she was in all processes involving the school. As her "brand" would give a mark of excellence and trust.

Example # 3 in regards to her judgement. Barack Obama!!!

There was Oprah and she did work hard and acheive great sucess. Even better she actually helped people. Then she became all about the celebraties, the product endorsements, the book club recomendations ect.

Then Oprah decided to get into politics and back BO. (It's no crime for her to make her own choice and even to endorse who she wants but it IS a crime when you use your influence to PUSH a loser on the public and EXPECT them to fall in line and do what you told them!)

I lost respect for her over the last couple of years anyway and then came her million dollar contribution and her decision to get involved in a way that she should have been smart enough to see was a bad risk. I think it will cause her a lot of grief down the road. many of us will not watch her show or support her in any way ever again.

Of course Oprah is the most powerful woman in America [she don't want a woman Pres unless it's her]. In fact, she Oprah, is the Queen of America but unfortunately she's a bit of a pig-out ruffian and does not have the class of a real Queen. Royalty does not take sides or show political bias. Maybe Oprah should enroll at that finishing school of hers in Kenya. The promotion of black power in US and Worldwide is real. People like Oprah and Obama and Rev Wright are right into this movement linking with the likes of Farrakham and black organisations that activate against whites. It's a movement that can also spawn active terrorism. I think that Michelle Obama is maybe a bigger believer than BO having let it drop that she "hated her country". I think that if this Pres of USA oppurtunity had not come up for BO he would be aspiring to be a black leader like Farrakham. I think that BO had already been anointed to this cause and then he changed track. I think that Rev Wright is a major teacher/indoctrinator for this movement and he has been BO's mentor all this time, preaching all this white hatred, not for nothing. So along comes this chance for BO to be Pres and Rev Wright is not happy. Remember he's put years of work into BO. The relationship between them has changed. Too right it's changed! Rev Wright had control of his golden boy but that's all gone now. As they say round here, you might be able to take the boy out of the black movement but you will never take the black movement out of the boy. And if BO gets to be Pres all these black activists like Oprah and Rev Wright and thousands of others, won't ever let him forget it.
Just a few rude questions to finish up!
How racist are black Americans? I gather that polls show a huge bias for black Americans to BO, whereas the say polls for white Americans do not show a similar bias to HK.
Does HK have to work harder because she's a woman?
Has BO actually done anything? Why is he so popular?
HK has an awesome record why is she not appreciated as much as she should be?
I just wonder if BO gets into The White House will he change it's name to The Black House? This is a serious question.
I hope someone will be kind enough to give me some feedback.

Then Oprah decided to get into politics and back BO. (It's no crime for her to make her own choice and even to endorse who she wants but it IS a crime when you use your influence to PUSH a loser on the public and EXPECT them to fall in line and do what you told them!)

CQ:mad:

Of course Oprah is the most powerful woman in America [she don't want a woman Pres unless it's her]. In fact, she Oprah, is the Queen of America but unfortunately she's a bit of a pig-out ruffian and does not have the class of a real Queen. Royalty does not take sides or show political bias. Well as fare as Oprah goes I don’t see what the magic is she’s just a talk show host with a lot of money to through around. I wonder if Obamas big contribution numbers are coming from her under the table, That said of course the big O doesn’t want to see a woman president that would make her the second most powerful woman in the USA and all her money wouldn’t mean that much and Hillary would get more press than her and her ratings just might go down. As far as The Black House goes I dont know about that but I for one will not vote to but a pair of racist in the white house just becaus they are black and happen to be Demacrat.
