I have a personal feeling that there may be something more to Unity New Hampshire this Friday. There are too many things happening this week that seem to be converging on this little town. Premonition? Wishful thinking? I don't know. But, I do know that if I were within a 200 mile radius of Unity New Hampshire, this Friday, I would be there. :D

Details on time, location, shuttle service, etc.:

She acquiesced this week.
He backed off this week.
The media was mute this week.
Bill came out today and declared support for Obama BEFORE the convention.
Hillary turned over her big fundraising people this week.
Her campaign offices got cleaned out this week.
She went back to the Senate today to a whole lot of hoopla that I did not expect at all.
And, Unity is a small town, but most of the press corps will be there from what I am reading.
I just have a feeling that is going to be more than a 'kumbaya' moment.

It seems there are 3000 of them according to this email I received from the Dems. Unfortunately you have to go to BHO's website. If you go to the site you can enter your ZIP code and find nearby events in your area.

I still think it has to do with his clearance. His mother was several years too young when she had him to give him the proper credentials (because his father was Kenyan his mother had to have spent five years after the age of 16 in America for him to have the needed citizenship to be President. His Mother was 18 when he was born in 1961. This could be the reason Obama tried to make it seem that he was conceived after his parents witnessed the Selma march in 1965.

Even THIS will be "staged" by Obama. He will FLOOD the place with HIS supporters in a vain attempt to show the country that the party is unified! It truly is a SHAM!!!

Okay, I'm always cynic. But this is my theory about Unity, NH. Obama has talked more about her debt. Hillary's email today seemed like this was a final plea for help. I think Obama will buy her delegates. The joint appearance will be about how Obama is generous kind. Hillary will give Obama her delegates as a show of Unity. If Hillary does not have delegates then she will not be on the roll call. This makes some sense of what Howard Dean's office said about the convention. I was told Obama's name would be the only name called for roll call. I asked why and was told that it is assumed everyone is for him.
NEVER in the history of the US has there been only one candidate on the ballot. This is indeed a coronation.

Obama thinks he doesn't have to worry about Clinton supporters or Independents or Hispanic votes. Check out this link where it states "Obama Poised to Win Historic Level of Support from Women Obama" He states that in exit polls Hillary was +16 margin and he is +24 margin.

You have to remember that OB debated her on her health care plan stating how it wouldn't work. For some reason I believe that he is not as in to it as she is. Unless she is in the forefront heading the path, it won't happen. BO will crack under the pressure instantly. If she excepts a VP from him, I'm still not voting for him....McCain it is.

I say we need to ready ourselves for anything. Allow yourselves to imagine various scenarios, so you will at least be somewhat prepared for whatever might happen. Then latch on to the one you want. I picture Senator Clinton, with her brilliant, huge smile, waving to the adoring crowd, that is so happy to have her in their sights again. She has Bill and Chelsea there, and they are likewise so happy that their smiles light up the entire room. It's a happy, joyful time for everyone, and we will never forget how the mood in the country lifted, and we knew that President Clinton would lead America, and the world, to greater heights than we ever imagined! Sorry, I'm jumping ahead to the convention:rolleyes:.

As for Friday, she will be subdued, will smile, who the hell knows - it will probably be torture on many different levels. But aren't we learning to live with daily torture? It makes us stronger, so we can fight harder.

I have been thinking about this today. I realized that I don't want to become another 'jerk' that tells Hillary what she can or can't do. Between the media, Obama, obamabots, and the DNC, this lady has seen more than her share of jerks telling her what she can and can't do.

After giving this some very serious thought today, I know that I have to respect her for any decision that she has made. And, I have to accept the fact that she is much more politically savvy than little ole me. I am a pea-brain politically. And, I would be the last one to kick her when she is down. She has been beat up enough.

My personal goal - Universal Health coverage for all. And, in one of her town meetings I got to have my question placed before her. This was her answer to me, paraphrased a little -- Sharon, I guarantee you that my health plan will cover every person in your Rare Cancer group and every person in the United States. My question was whether she would guarantee me, personally, that ALL people in the US would be covered.

So, now, I have to sit back and realize that in order to give me that, she will make the decision that will get it. I trust her implicitly to make the right decisions for me, my rare cancer group, and the rest of the country. And, who am I to tell her differently? I am just a pea-brain, remember??

Honestly, I am behind Hillary Clinton 1000%, NO MATTER WHAT.............

Anyone who thinks Hillary as VP would make a difference in the next 4 years is naive.

You are ABSOLUTELY correct. Hillary as VP for four years will absolutely result in nothing - NOTHING!! Because of national security concerns, the President and VP are literally kept apart much of the time. Hillary would have virtually no pull in day-to-day operations of the country. She would have virtually no impact on anything Obama did.

Add to that, that Obama would simply be using her to attempt to win the GE and after that he'd shred her to pieces and undermine her at every opportunity. And believe me, he wants NO part of having President Clinton anywhere in the White House. If President Clinton is there, he is going to have quite alot to say about the issues at hand, even if he isn't supposed to. And.....people will LISTEN to him. Obama doesn't want anyone listening to anyone but himself.

So, forget Hillary as VP. I don't see it happening and even if she does run as VP, I love my country more and I will NOT for Obama if he's anywhere on the ticket - even with Hillary at his side. Can't do it.

If she does accept the VP position (and I, too, hope she doesn't), remember that if he's elected, she will be President if something happens to BO (he's declared ineligible because of his birth certificate, he's indicted, a felony is found in his past criminal record, etc.).

She is a very, very savvy politician and she's doing the right thing, even if we don't know why at the moment. Also remember, she and Bill seem to recognize the danger in a BO presidency.

I think all you have to do is look the role Vice President Cheney has played in this administration to see that the vice presidency does indeed carry some weight in terms of policy and decision-making. Plus it is the best stepping stone to the presidency in the entire country and find it hard to believe Mrs. Clinton would pass it up if offered.

This may be true for someone of Obama's experience, but for Hillary, it could only mean that she would be on a losing ticket (because I feel that any ticket with his name at the top will go down in flames). If somehow they were to win, she would not get her shot at the Presidency until 2016!

Plus it is the best stepping stone to the presidency in the entire country and find it hard to believe Mrs. Clinton would pass it up if offered.

The Vice President carries weight, if their political stature going in allows it. Cheney carries weight because it was his money and his connections that got GW into the Prez position and it is his supporters and their financial backing that has kept him there.

On the other hand, Al Gore did not have a great deal of power in the WH. He was being primed to be the heir apparent.

If she chooses to run as a VP, before you balk at it, ask yourself:

Do you think Hillary is politically smarter than you are?
Does Hillary have stature going in?
Does she wield a little power of her own?
Would she keep an eye on the WH activities?
Do you think she would have negotiated for delivery of some of her major issues, before making any VP decision?
Is having an eye in the WH better than nothing at all?
Is an ascendency into the WH better than nothing at all?

A personal note on all of this: I was sitting at Burger King 2 days ago in the morning sipping on a senior coffee to wake myself up. There was an older married couple in the booth behind me. Keep in mind that I live in a Republican stronghold. Wife says to hubby - "Oh, that HILLARY! She is trying to wrangle a place in the White House." (This tells me they are Republicans :D) Husand replies, "Yeah, but it is better than having her in there as President". Wife quickly replies, "NO, it isn't! Then we would be stuck with a Democrat in the White House for 16 years!!"

I had to ask myself, in all my anger and stupidity, am I missing the obvious?

So, this is my constant prayer since then - "Please give her the wisdom and knowledge to do the next right thing for the country."

I vote issues, not candidates. My top issues are health care coverage for everyone in the US and investment in our children's educations. That is why I chose Hillary, that is why I stick with her, regardless of her decisions. She promised me, personally, she would work on my number one issue; I promised her I would stick by her, no matter what.................

Okay this is just too much. Tomorrow, Barack Obama is staging a joint appearance with Hillary Clinton near a school in Unity, NH at what is to be called a “Unite for Change” rally. The Manchester Union Leader reports that the location was chosen not only because of the town’s symbolic name, but also because the votes for Clinton and Obama in this tiny NH town were tied 107-107. Oooooh, strange!

But it gets even stranger. Recently we learned that the Unity, NH school mascot is a panther, which is another name for puma. So will there be Unity school kids at the rally wearing their panther T-shirts? Will there be a panther flag? Will Barack and Hillary congratulate the Unity Panthers (pumas) in their speeches?

Yes, yes, yes! I agree. Hillary knows something and cannot make it public. She must show support for Obama or the Party will never support her in the future. Though it would be poetic justice to see her turn her back on the Dems, she can't afford to do that because it would be the end of her political career. Let's just trust Hillary, let her do what she needs to do, and keep the faith. I am so relieved that so many of us continue to feel as stronly about one thing--WE WILL NEVER, NEVER, NEVER SUPPORT BO!

She's had to be "happy" for the past 15 years dealing with everyone... so I think dealing with BO is nothing to her.

Besides, she is a professional politician. You learn early to tough it up when you have to.

1) Obama has severe character flaws. He is not qualified to be president.
2) He's a national security risk.
3) He would have a distasterous presidency.
4) His VP would suffer the fate of a permanently ruined reputation.
5) If that VP was Hillary, it would also negatively affect future women running for president because sexism would add fuel to the fire.

Some people called out "Hillary!!" at the beginning. On CSPAN, you could see that the Obamabots with signs were all in a tight swath in the middle (just behind the podium, of course) and all around them were people who had folded arms and hardly clapped at all.

CSPAN is replaying it all at 8 PM EST. I want to see Hillary's speech (missed it; she spoke first).

What we do in voting against BO is our choice as individual voters who know what the party establishment did to push their candidate over the choice per democracy. We dont like people who undermine democracy. And that includes DNC, BO, and all the people who are standing against Hillary. Hillary is the choice of democracy in this country.

Frankly, I disagree. A NORMAL VP has very little standing. In Cheney's case, I believe he ran this country into war and into the ground. Dubya is too dumb to run a presidency. Cheney is VERY powerful, and has been a very big contributor in setting policy. That's one reason no one has impeached Bush, they see Cheney as worse - for good reason.

Interesting, but just yesterday someone on Hannity & Colmes opined that any impeachment proceedings would have to start with Cheney, then Bush. When asked why, that's exactly what he said - can't have a Cheney presidency.

Not only that, but Hillary would have to wait 8 years most likely, to run for President if she accepted any VP slot. I doubt she wants to run at 70.

Not that I know of... LIKE US ARE GOING TO VOTE FOR McCAIN...MENTIONED COUNTRY BEFORE PARTY, HIS STRENGTH AS A LEADER IN A WORLD CRISIS, (ALMOST CERTAIN TO COME IN THE NEXT YR OR TWO), HIS BEING A WAR HERO, ETC!

AND THEN WENT ON TO POINT OUT A FEW OF THE MANY BO WEAKNESSES WHICH WE POINT OUT ALL THE TIME ON THIS FORUM!...HOW BADLY HE GOT BEAT IN THE LAST FEW CONTESTS...AND WAS LEAKING OIL, GAS, ETC., AS HE CROSSED THE FINISH LINE...AND GUESS WHAT...THIS GUY WAS ABSOLUTELY RIGHT...FOR A MOMENT, I FOUND MYSELF THINKING THAT HE MUST READ THIS FORUM SINCE HE HIT ON MANY OF OUR MAIN REASONS NOT TO VOTE FOR BO...AND TO VOTE FOR McCAIN INSTEAD!!

BOTTOM LINE: REGARDLESS OF WHAT WAS SAID, ACTED OUT AS SCRIPTED, NOTHING HAS CHANGED!

PLAN A - WORK ON SD`S TO GET HILL THE NOM., ETC!
PLAN B - CAMPAIGN FOR McCAIN TO DEFEAT BO
PLAN C - HILLARY...12!!!

Just a random scene? Don’t be so sure.

According to the latest ABC News/Washington Post poll, 24% of Clinton’s supporters are thinking of supporting McCain in November, with Obama only winning 62% of them as of now. That’s why Clinton directly told them not to go for McCain today.

I thought she out did Obama all the way around today. She sparkled. You know she is a smart cookie. She knows she has to have Dems united for her when the time comes. Now, no crystal ball as to when ...but she will be back. Hey, she said their paths have joined to make Obama president...but if he has a problem between now and November and he gets knocked off the path...Hillary will be on the path for the White House for Hillary to be president. And if Obama is able to stay on the path and does get the nomination she will be on the path for 2012 cause he is going to lose and out go the sorry DNC with him. She is one smart cookie.

When you look at the entire speech, split up in 4 equal parts, you see the truth:
http://forum.hillary-clintons-voice.com/viewtopic.php?f=43&t=177

First two parts are Hillary pretty much giving a campaign speech, replete with platform. The third part is Obama thanking her and trying to 'make nice'. And, the last is Obama. I think 3/4 of the speeches being dedicated to Hillary is pretty good! :D

She is a class act!

Ok, just got in here.

I saw clips of the rally, and from what I saw Hillary (as usual) outshined him at his own phoney rally event. For anyone that watched "Yes, Clinton does rock." :)

As sickening as it was to watch Hillary lead along the Unity Pony so he could strut and show, again, she did outshine him. She looked like the president up on that stage, and he again looked lacking and in need of her help. I'm really not sure why Obama would ever want to have her on stage with him. It must have been really difficult, for him. You could tell that even his supporters knew who the real deal was.

Yes, despite the role she had to play, she was a total class act.

BTW, was anyone else gagging at the signs the campaign gave to his followers for the campaign? The "United for Change" signs? *gag*

I was watched the speeches on FoxNews and am wondering did anyone catch what was said between Hillary and BO, before she went to the microphone? I thought I heard this, but wasn't sure, since it was so fast and I was not expecting it:

BO said something along the lines of . . . "not going to talk about it" and something about "speech."

Hillary responded with . . . "don't worry it is all good." (I am fairly certain that is what she said.)

And, then she pointed to something in the crowd. And, started her speech.

Just wondering . . . wish I had recorded it.

I read or heard somewhere that Hillary wrote her speech and refused to allow BOzo's people to review it. So I assume he had no idea what she was going to say HA! Love it! Still showing her power over him!

I caught a few words between them, but don't remember now what i heard (yeah, I broke down and watched the re-run on CSPAN). You may be referring to the point where she said to him "Look at that t-shirt...." couldn't hear the rest of it.

Does anyone know who the women in yellow t-shirts were? There was only a side shot, so couldn't read what the tees said. They also had on hats which appeared to say "Peace".

Two things stood out for me. One was that BOzo is really a poor speaker. He stumbles quite a lot, even when he's reading his own damn speech. Hillary did definitely outshine him all the way around. And 2nd, did anyone else notice how FAST Hillary exited that stage? LOL She lit off of there like a house afire!

This was my very dear friend C. She is a wonderful speaker! We both drove up to Unity from MA.

You were right: Hillary did outshine BHO! The audience was very friendly. They both got equal cheering and applause.
The Mayor of Unity. Upon greeting the audience, he said he is a Republican and will vote for McCain. When he said that -- he got considerable applause as well, LOL!
I will write more later. To sum up though: There were about 10 PUMA members
We were interviewed by many media outlets: BBC, Al Jazeera, NPR, Der Spiegel, Boston Harold -- to name a few. We were a mighty few and I believe Hillary was well represented.
I will write more later
Cheers!

PS: Luckily you cannot see me. I forgot the sunscreen and I look like a red lobster!

HE MADE AN INTERESTING FREUDIAN SLIP while .... oh, I just heard him make another one. He said, "You can join Senator Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama ..." he put her first.

His slip was when he tried to quote Anne Richards. He said while commenting on the historic nature of her campaign, "She proved that women can do everything that men can do, only better." He meant, "backwards." He said "better!" Bingo!

Anne Richards quote is that Ginger Rogers could do everything Fred Astaire could do, and "she did it backwords and in high heels."

I got Hillary's "Unity" email today and decided to try watching the video from yesterday and I got about halfway through where she's talking about McCain staying in Iraq for decades and the SC Roe v. Wade thing. The whole "I strongly urge my supporters to reconsider" just had me stewing. I just can't. I found myself talking to the screen "Hillary, I love you, I do, but I can't, and I can't keep listening to you sing praises for the fraud sitting right next to you"

If she is just simply doing this for party unity and reading a speech, she's doing a great job at being sincere because I almost started to feel guilty.

Anyway, I turned it off almost halfway through.
