You're like me Tania. Sometimes I'm supposed to be doing homework but I end up on here for a couple of hours before I realize what I'm doing. :D
I have to check in everyday...why?? I don't know. I think because the only way I know how to express myself about Hillary is through this forum. Expressing myself verbally is really hard for me. Through this forum, I feel like I can express myself. I get so frustrated with myself when I get into a conversation with a non-Hillary person, in person. I just freeze. It really sucks.

I had to say yes I am addicted, even though I might not post that much here, I have been on here at least twice a day everyday since I joined. I usually always leave a window open with this site up so that whenever I get back to the computer I just hit reload and read what's new. I am on here every morning and usually every night when I get off work. And when the primaries were still going on I'd say on was on here even more than that.

I'm not addicted - I'm sure I don't know what you're talking about!;)
Here's a smoking questionnaire I adapted to see if, indeed, there is a "situation" here:
1. How soon after waking up do you log on to Hillary Clinton Forum?
As soon as I make my green tea and get my raw sunflower seeds.:)
2. Do you find it difficult to not log on to HCF when not able to get a break ie: work, movies, travel?
I think about it sometimes, but it is not difficult.
3. Which log on would you find hardest to give up - morning, afternoon, evening?
Just thinking about giving up one is rather disturbing. Hmmm...
4. How many times a day do you log on to HCF?
I have no idea. A lot.:D
5. Do you log on more frequently in the morning than the rest of the day?
I'd say about evenly through the day, until the fam gets home. Then I still log on, but it's less.
6. Do you log on even though you are sick in bed for most of the day?
That hasn't happened since I joined, thank God.
*******************
I still can't tell, even with the questionnaire. I think it's just that this forum serves such an important purpose - choosing the next leader of the United States! I don't go to blogs just to fool around or spend time - there has to be a very good reason. I didn't even post on blogs before this election.
I wouldn't call it an addiction. I actually consider what I do here for Hillary a volunteer job. But a fun one!

Let me see - from what I remember of A&D Addictions class -the criteria for addiction:
1. Increased amounts are necessary to achieve the desired effect: check - I'm using
with increasing frequency.
2. Withdrawal symptoms occur with attempts to stop: check - I feel info deprivation
3. Efforts to reduce useage are ineffective: check - I set time limits for myself only to
violate my own rules.
Well, the results are clear - Addicted! lol

I actually didn't quit the forum just yet... I said that I will quit the forum after Denver IF Hillary isn't our nominee, because I'm on board with Plan A and even Plan C if A doesn't happen... But, Plan B, not so much. So, After the convention, If Hillary isn't our nominee, then I must say "farewell, my forum friends, as it is time for me to go". :p As, it wouldn't make any logical sense for me to stay at that point.
Until then, I'm afraid y'all are stuck with my addicted a** *sigh* :D:p:cool:

Oh hell, yeah, I'm addicted. I check my email, write my friends and family maybe one-sentence replies just to let them know I'm still alive, then it's back to the forum. The boyfriend is feeling even more neglected than usual. I haven't written anything in the novel I'm working on in weeks.
This place makes me feel good, but honestly what makes me feel even better is taking action: writing superdelegates (if MANY, MANY people do this, it might make a difference), blogging and sending letters to the editor, sponsoring my matching funds drive last week.

Definitely addicted. Discovering the Forum was a life saver back in March. I didn't realize how many like minded people there were out there - supporting Hillary AND frustrated with how it appeared things were being played out.
I'm not posting as much these days. My family has expressed frustration with how this had taken over my life. Now that school's out for the summer, I'm spending more time with them but still manage to check in several times each day. Actual efforts on behalf of Hillary have slowed. I'll be voting for McCain if she is not the nominee. Within the last few days though I'm softening to the idea of her as VP. At the very least, Democrats should be demanding that he extend the offer to her. Then, who knows.
Thanks Murray for providing this forum. I don't know what I'd do without it. I fantasize that we'll get to meet each other one day - at Hillary's inaugeration!

We are persistent and loyal. That is what Hillary supporters are and why we like Hillary so much. We don't give up easily and we don't get swayed easily.
It's a good thing.
It is also a good talking point for Murray if you do get out there in the media. If all we Hillary supporters get on this Forum day after day and share news and thoughts with other Hillary supporters, we will NOT ever become Obama supporters.

I keep the tab open to "the forum" both at home and at work. The IT guy for our hospital noticed all my internet activity which led to a discussion (on his part) on why Obama is a 'good guy'. He teases me now when I see him- he is such a great and helpful man, that it hurts my heart to know who he is rooting for. I mentioned some of the main things, and at least he isn't a total zombie- but it was still disconcerting. I talk about this forum so much it drives my partner crazy. She quit logging on as much and just relies on me to tell her what's up. She says she misses me! I just feel like we are actually accomplishing so much- it feels AWESOME to be part of such a movement, and I miss working on Hillary's campaign so much that this forum has helped enormously with that issue as well.

Heck, I'm back reading the BC threads, which I swore I wasn't going to open anymore. So I guess that makes me a candidate for a 12-step program.
"Controversies" aside, I find myself using this site as a sort of launching-point for infomation gathering. I'll read something here, then look up more detailed information elsewhere... then eventually end up at Amazon.com looking at DVDs, Books and video games (not sure how that ties in, but it does tend to happen more than I want to admit). Still, I figure increasing one's knowledge is a good thing, right?

:eek::rolleyes:;):D
That's quite a set of emotions!:p
Because my first emotion when I read Bill's Prez statement was , then I went from there to . Then I reacted to Murrays hillarious statement about the silence being deafening ;), especially by the long term HCF members:D.
I actually needed your smiley where it covers it's mouth while trying to hold in its laughter...
Did I explain it for you, Meggy's? (LOL)

I can understand about Amazon.com. I got obsessed with global warming because of the thread on the topic and ended up buying four books on the subject from Amazon.com.
Now I have a kindle, which makes my habit even easier to feed.

I'm gonna have to stamp ALL of Rebecca's emotions! I left it alone when I first saw it because I just couldn't go "there".:D:D

I am so jealous! I want Kindle, but I can't justify the cost right now (plus it's always sold out when I look).

Me, not at all!;) And look at all the oldtimers here on this thread. I've been so non-addicted to the battleground BC thread, I didn't realize this many of you were still around! :D
