One view of the Mayflower joint fundraiser in DC. Gives some context to BO's performance at the Grand Hyatt fundraiser yesterday. It's getting to him.

But the tone of what really happened inside the locked ballroom was quite different once Obama and Hillary Clinton had their cordial say and the floor was open for questions. The first ''questioner,'' an angry woman from New York, demanded a roll call of presidential preference at the Denver convention. Next came another distraught woman, declaring that Clinton's candidacy was the victim of ''misogyny.'' One participant told me, ''This is as tough a crowd as Obama is going to face the whole campaign.''

Good article but I wish some of these people would grow a set and recognize it should be country first, Party second. This "tow the party line" crap is getting really old, really fast.
One participant told me, ''This is as tough a crowd as Obama is going to face the whole campaign.''
Well, I hope to hell it's not the toughest crowd he's going to face in his whole campaign!!! These people were pansies compared to the rest of the JSND/PUMA sect.
Terry McAuliffe, long the Clintons' faithful political servitor and Hillary Clinton's presidential campaign chairman, played the cheerleader after the meeting. ''This is unity!'' he declared to reporters assembled in the Mayflower's lobby.
Well if THIS is unity, I'd hate to see their definition of disunity!!!
But Davis admitted to me there is ''a lot that needs to be done'' for all wounds to be healed. The minds of the Clintonites are with Obama, but not their hearts.
Wounds aren't going to be healed. Anyone who was truly a supporter of Sen. Clinton and LOVES this country is NOT going to fall in line behind Obama. They are going to use their head and make sure that guy never sees the inside of the White House as POTUS. They will remember country first, Party second.

I can't believe it. That paragraph you quoted made me cry. Those women standing up for our votes and Senator Clinton just made me burst with pride.

The key word in this article is "perfunctory". His perfunctory performance. His perfunctory effort at unity. His perfunctory support for the issues. His passion is only revealed in his arrogant pursuit of the one thing that matters to him - winning.

Exactly. He cares about no one except BHO. Those women were wonderful and standing up for all of us. It made me feel so proud of Hillary and what she stands for. Our revolution is getting stronger.

Robert Novak is a jerk. In describing the women, he uses the terms "one angry woman" and "a distraught woman" but when referring to a male supporter of Clintons he described him as "a lawyer", completely diminishing the other two women and/or their careers or roles as supporters.

Me too! And the press needs to cover this type of dissent MORE. Enough!! With this "unity" b.s.!:)

Can we file for Divorce from the DNC? Divorce is making the headlines these days?
I have supported them since I could vote, given them donations. Yes, this is definitely irreconcilable differences.

Exactly! They do NOT get it that this is an INJUSTICE that we take just as seriously as any OTHER injustice. They would be able to see it that way if it were not about women's "issues" The fact that they must use these terms just proves our point. It's the reason I am not backing off of this or backing down either. They can spin it as "militant" feminism if they want to but, the fact IS that Hillary was attacked because she was a woman. The fact IS that the wrongs and injustices done are NOT being taken seriously because it's about womens' right to being considered EQUAL and hate speech should have been considered an outrage instead of a "blip" on their "unity" radar.

This is how we are continually discribed by the media... angry, and distraught? Well, hell yes, but we are also a big percentage of the working class in this nation and we have responsibilities as head of households. When we women pay taxes we are subjected to the same laws as men, and I want to be looked upon as equally in the media.
Our anger is legit. We want questions answered just like every other citizen.

Novak, truly, is an idiot, and is just out to make a buck, but the important thing is that the MSM keeps printing stuff, every day, that JUST SAYS NO DEAL - and that's great!
The minds of the Clintonites are with Obama, but not their hearts.
I don't know if that was Lanny talking or Bob, but Obama can't have our minds, our hearts, nothing. He does not deserve any of it. And Hillary has both!;)

I love Terry McAllThat's comment, "This is unity!" when describing the less-than-supportive crowd for FLUFF. Honestly, that's about as good as it will get for FLUFF. Terry's statement is hilarious and very PUMAcastic :p.
Thanks to those supporters who had the courage to speak out at an event where they would be observed and recognized by FLUFF's campaign... not so easy to do when the possibility of retaliation is very real !
Thanks to SSOA who pointed out the inequity in Novak's description of HRC supporters.

Terry has been on all the news shows past two days saying how we have all come together for one cause - a Dem in the White House. He said most of Hillary supporters have "come around" - and he has high hopes for Hillary as VP, talked about how great the convention would be - all one big happy party.
He always is so excited - but - this is just Not True!

I just wrote a rebuttal 'letter to the editor' aimed at a woman who chastised Hillary supporters for not coming together to get Obama elected. I had to be succinct because of a maximum word policy:
Folks assume Hillary Clinton supporters are against Barack Obama because they are ‘spoiled little children who did not get their way.’ It denigrates our intelligence when LaRue Boenig tells us to ‘start thinking about what is good for our country.’ The good of our country is exactly what WE think about.
Obama’s ‘claim to fame’ is he gave a notable speech. He has served only 143 or so actual work days as U.S. Senator and voted incorrectly several times by pushing ‘the wrong button,’ is associated with a convicted crook, lacks knowledge of basic U.S. history and geography, seems confused about his own biracial background, will not provide his birth certificate or fully disclose medical records, joined in when a fellow U.S. Senator was mocked and denigrated because of gender, said nothing while the Democratic party made a mockery of the Michigan/Florida votes by disenfranchising half the voters and giving delegates legitimately won by Sen. Clinton to him, copied the policies of his opponent, had to distance himself from a number of unsavory advisors and friends, exposed his children to messages of racial hatred from a radical preacher, and changes stance on a daily basis. Barack Obama is not the strong leader needed to pull us out of the morass in which we are mired.
My vote is NOT for sale to the Democratic Party who ‘selected’ Obama the winner, or to anyone else.

You said it very well. People (BO supporters) who can't think beyond the end of their noses can't believe that there could actually be valid reasons for Hillary supporters to "not come together." They didn't know the differences to begin with and didn't want to know. It's pathetic, and more pathetic that they are, in good part, responsible for getting him where he is - with more than a little help from the media and the DNC, of course.
I am very proud that so many of Hillary's supporters are angry and determined enough to really make a stand, as we should be. They expected us to fall in line, like she was just another candidate, nothin' special. Well, they are mistaken, and I hope that we can have the impact that is needed to not only get Hillary the nomination, but to ensure that those responsible for the outrageous tactics used against her suffer the consequences as more and more Americans let them know that their services are no longer needed or desired. That will consititute real change!

This has gone way beyond wounds. It's a matter of principle, of rights, of fair play. I wish these people would GET this. I'm sick of these condescending "wounds" remarks.
We're going to wear Obama down, and they'll finally get it.
