I don't do it every day, or even every week, but a trip to www.gratefulness.org (http://www.gratefulness.org) to light a candle can really lift your spirits! I like how they start you off, once you click on the candles on the left side, a little ways down:
"Please take a deep breath
and quiet your thoughts."
That little moment always helps me to center, and slow down my hustle-bustle day. It also helps me to step back and remember the bigger picture, which is always better than the more immediate, smaller one.
"Before continuing,
reflect for a moment
on your reason
for lighting a candle."
I'm so grateful for all of you here, and we know that it does our heart and head good to remember what we're thankful for. This candle-lighting, no matter what your spiritual background, helps to bring our blessings to the forefront.
"Stay here quietly,
as long as you wish,
before continuing."
I don't usually stay that long. Sometimes it's interesting to look at what others are praying for. I've even found people praying for Hillary. People post prayers from all over the world. It's nice to pray for them, too.
Just a thought for a lovely Wednesday afternoon.:)
