"In response to a question about the economic stimulus checks administered by the U.S. government earlier this year, Michelle Obama said her husband believes that short-term fixes don't solve economic problems."You're getting $600," she told an audience of mostly African-American women here. "What can you do with that? Not to be ungrateful or anything. But maybe it pays down a bill, but it doesn't pay down every bill every month." "Barack's approach is that the short-term quick fix kinda stuff sounds good," she continued. "And it may even feel good that first month when you get that check. And then you go out and you buy a pair of earrings," she joked...."

Anyone else spend $600 on earrings? Looks like Michelle Obama may.

Ok MO, let me give this to you.
You fell and broke the fifth metatarsal bone of your right foot. The doctor said you need to a cast for 4 weeks. It will take long time to heal because it's a nasty fall. You have got your cast alright. But now it's bloody painful. Your doctor said he won't give you any pain killers to take home. He said the short term fix won't do you any good. If you don't feel the pain, you will keep walking and make your broken bone worst.
So tough luck, your dear doctor said you just have to wait it out till the pain go away. No Tylenal, no paracetamal. No stinky little pill to help you feel better at night.
how is that sound!? Did that make sense to you?
It's economy for dummy love.

I really cant stand those stuck up, so far away from the real people obamas that I would pee in their chai teas, or frapaccinos, or whatever drink they drink. Me? I bought a 30 dollar espresso maker with a frother and have half espresso/half hot milk. Get up 10 minutes early so I can make my own before work to save a few dollars. DANG!!!

THats true it came from BHO speech , trying to get hillary supporter
I BHO going to fight for you, put another stimulus package together,
Maybe MO should check with her husband before she opens's her mouth,
and inserts her foot!
So what she is saying is BHO plann to put another stimulas package together
won't help us... BHO won't help us.. So the $600 we would get to pay down
our bills or buy earings we should turn our nose up to, because it too little to
help....
Mo, take a look around you most of us have cut back everything , so $600
won't solve our problems, but is better than nothing.
Nothing is what you prefer to somthing????? Get real MO, stay out of what you do not know. Bake your cookies.......

Because BHO probably doesn't have an "AND THEN" plan. So she had to throw in a NOT funny joke to finish the sentence.

ummm..lets see, mine went to luxurious seven day stay at an all inclusive resort on a grecian isle.
yeah right,
Mine went to trying to not completely default on a student loan, pay for hospital bills the same ones that keep me from joining my family in California because I couldn't leave my job while going through this for fear of "preexisting condition" and paying two rents while I wait to heal.
Hey Haggatha, welcome to the real world where our children don't even have the opportunity to whine about having to go to dance classess or piano lessons that cost 10grand a year.
I'm about sick to death with Obama and co. saying well these small things won't help so why do them. Well Einsteing, whats your plan that is going to help me from getting my check garnished for student loans and help me pay for gas??????? I'm about tired of your empty words and rhetoric. The unwashed massess are tired of having Haggatha scream Let them eat cake.

Michelle is the most clueless, out of touch person I can think of since...since...
Nancy Pelosi.
"WELL GIVE US SOMETHING HERE, MICHELLE!"
If I recall correctly, when the 'Bamas started to make some real coin Mish went off and bought a white mink.
Yep, tacky 'til the end.

Being disabled, I look forward to anything I can get to help with meds, utilities, ect. I'm grateful. Seems to MO, one shouldn't be grateful for every little windfall. This type of talk comes from someone who's never without and has too much.
Some of our youth has this same problem. Parents break the bank to make sure their children have everything they "want" not need. It's love that does it, and it's not all bad especially if parents make their children aware that it is done out of love.

They really are out of touch. I mean, certainly it won't solve all of the problems that the struggling workers in our country are facing, but it provides a bit of a reprieve.
Another short-term fix that they are against is the off-shore drilling. I'm not sure I understand this position: we have the technology to make it safe, it obviously won't solve our energy prices completely but it could help lower gas prices a bit, and if we find a big supply, it will help us end our dependence on foreign oil.
I care about the environment and do want to see major investments in alternative energy sources and green energy, but why can't we do both????
The problem with elitist thinkers is that they fail to see the complexities of real life when they are looking from their ivory towers.

hell give me one...he wants to do another short-term fix I won't refuse it..hell, I would take 300.00 right now. Every little bit helps with the cost of gas like it is. I refused to buy milk over a month ago and still have not bought any because it is $4.59...who knows what it is now. I am sure MO does not look at grocery prices.

Amen, and well said, Kbentleyis. And by everyone else.
Michelle is wanting for nothing yet asking for everything.
Neither her nor her husband 'get it.'

Obama really is that guy at the party in the corner making fun of other people with no real ideas of his own. He did this to Hillary with the gas tax holiday. Every successful person knows you have short / mid / long term goals. Just because you have short term goals doesn't mean you don't have mid and long term goals. That logic is idiocy and somebody should call him on it already.
I think the better illustration is the hybrid car. It is not the final solution. I waited a year or so to buy mine because they were supposed to have the plug-ins come in. Wel, I got tired of waiting for the PHEV (the mid term goal) and went out and bought a hybrid over a year ago (short term goal). Yes, I feel real stupid getting 50 mpg now. I could have still been getting 23 mpg and paying mathematically over twice as much for gas now as I wait for that 100+mpg Volt to come out two years from now.
Oh and I also got back into riding a bike for local trips. Now if you have Obama's tunnel vision he would say "how is a bike going to help you pick up groceries?" Well, let me tell you, dunce. i don't just have a bike. It is part of a more comprehensive solution.
If Obama is proving he doesn't understand short / mid /long term goals, not only should he not be President, he should be declared mentally retarded.
