DCCC has reserved $35 million in ad buys to help down ticket Dems in their areas.
You may want to check the list below to see if one of your Senators or Reps are on the list, as some of these people may be SDs that backed obama over Hillary when their districts went to Hillary. (Altmire of PA is on the list - he backed obama and they plan to spend $544,000 on ads for him - they must be worried.)
The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee has reserved nearly $35 million on television advertisements in 31 House districts in for the fall campaign, offering a sneak preview of the central campaign battlegrounds and the partys most vulnerable incumbents.
Ads will begin airing in early September and early October, according to documentation obtained by Politico.
By reserving television time for the fall campaign early on, the DCCC gets a discounted rate on often pricey advertising buys. If a race becomes less competitive, they can get their money refunded occasionally with a small penalty assessed or air additional ads in the same media market.
The list is indicative of the ever-expansive playing field for House Democrats; the DCCC reserved $22.5 million of air time in seats currently held by Republicans. Some of the races theyre scheduled to be airing ads in, such as the seats of retiring Reps. Steve Pearce (R-N.M) and Kenny Hulshof (R-Mo.), are solidly Republican.
