I really don't understand why we Democrats are such idiots sometimes. The writing is on the wall, Obama is done, over. There is no way he's going to win the general election, so I don't understand why no Prominant Democrats are speaking out and asking him to step down. Is it only us, the normal people, who see that Obama would be clobbered by the Republicans? Lack of judgement, guilt by association, etc? If Democratic leaders won't open their eyes and see what their supporters see, then I will never donate another dime to the Democrats! If Obama supporters and others think he can survive his connections to controversial figures, then they are really blind. What this party needs is a big reality check, and we need it now!

let's wait for the video of obama in attendance of such a controversial sermon...H&C is ostensible scheduled to play it...i think that would change a lot...but i think they will still not ask him to leave the race immediately, just if the response of the people to this is extremely negative. i mean, at the moment obama is -unfortunately- leading in the delegate count and the popular vote. that's why the pastor story really have to look very, very bad for him so that it would look understandable to his supporters that he steps down (it certainly wouldn't at the moment) and if the obama supporters think that's an inside deal of the democratic party when he leaves the race and feel treated unfairly, the will never support hillary in the GE...

No kidding! If things don't go the way we're hoping they do, I intend to distance myself from the Democratic party in the future. In other words, instead of making contributions to the party, I will only contribute to individual candidates--of *MY* liking, not ones who are shoved down our throats by the party...for no good reason.

It makes my head spin the way the party hierarchy walk around in denial. You could almost think they have a collective death wish for November. It's utterly bizarre. Do you suppose they simply count on the media to continue protecting B.O. through the general election???

I confer! I think that the Democratic party is wasting everyones time and resources at this point. Obama is a no go. The guy would be a total disaster for the Democrats. I think they are being too stupid to see this. They are hoping they can spin the Wright story. There is no way to spin this. This is on tape, he's been there for 20 years and hasn't said a word about it until he was confronted by all TV stations playing the story around the clock.
I have already read an article that says that Obama will bring out the conservative base like never before. They will march to deny him in masses. Not only that but he would really put us at risk in states like NY. For the first time NY could be in play. This is no joke. You play Pastor Wright talking about 9/11 and New Yorkers are going to be infuriated. They will strike back at the ballot box. And California.....oh goodness.
The Democrats will end up turning the whole map red. These are some stupid Democrats, sorry to say. That's why they never win.

The only Democrat who has been able to beat the Republicans for the Presidency for the past THREE DECADES is Bill Clinton.
The only Democrat to win RE-ELECTION in the past SIX DECADES (since Truman in 1949) is Bill Clinton.

I never understood why the Dems spoke out that Hillary should back out of the race when she didn't have a thing going against her, other than being behind by a still small margin in the Delegate Count..but it was still not mathematically impossible for her to get the nomination. Really, the only thing against her was the reaching that was being done regarding her taxes and her vote for the Iraq war.
The things against Obama show that he is a part of a world of hate with the minister, the dirty money with Rezko and the buried allegations of the gay sexual relationship and drug use with Larry Sinclair...would only hurt him if he were to get the nomination AND even worse if he were to win the General Election.

Obama won't step down unless "the party" asks him to do. Even then, I'm not sure he would do it, because, I believe, in his mind it's not about the democratic party. It's about him. He's got too much ego to step aside.
I do agree that the party elders are turning their backs on this...or perhaps just burying their heads in the sand hoping it will all go away. It won't, so they might as well come up for air and face facts.
I won't hold my breath, though.
i think obama already has it locked up. the campaigns will go on a bit longer, but the superdelegates and his wins have already locked it.
it amazes me to see the obama people not only close ranks even tighter around ob, but even claim that preacher was right. scary. showing a video of him in attendance won't change anything to the ob cultists.
i have to beg people, please vote mccain if it comes down to obama.
eta - it is my feeling that the superdelegates fear angering the black population more than they fear angering the whites. ob will get the nomination.

I'm afraid I have to agree with you. This will not go away, and Obama probably feels this is his only shot at the presidency. I mean, even several years down the road, it's gonna come back out. He made a horrible judgement decision when he decided to stay so close the the pastor. I used to think that Obama would become president one day, if not soon, then later. However, now I no longer see that, at all. The sad part is that you have die-hard ultra liberal Democrats who still feel that Obama would still have a chance in the general election. I don't know about you, but if Obama gets the nomination, I will probably be blogging on the McCain site for a while. A little hyatus for this Democrat!

Susanah,
Obama better not get the nomination, otherwise there will be full on revolt by the Democratic base. We will abandon that party forever.
The Democratic Party is full of perennial losers like Kennedy, Kerry, Gore, Mondale, and Hart. If they don't understand that Hillary means winning, they want to remain underachieving deadbeats forever.
I don't wish to join them on their suicidal mission. Sorry but I'll be out and hoping that Hillary runs as an independent. If not, I vote for McCain.

i think the only chance to force him to leave the race would be if his poll numbers fall dramatically...i don't see that yet, but maybe the recent polls were conducted before the news about the pastor really reached people's minds...
but i agree, that once the republicans make adds out of this stuff for the GE he's done...but i doubt they'll do us the favor yet...they probably hope the dems still nominate him and then they destroy him and have an easy game in november...

That's the key. Bill Clinton was a Moderate. That's why he kept on winning.
As for the fat cats of the Party, they're all in Egypt right now on that HUGE river...de-nile. They backed the wrong guy, as usual, and can't figure a way to get out of it.
It's no longer about alienating a faction of the Party, rather it's about electability in November and they have bankrolled this guy, shut the MSM up and vilified Hillary and how do they go back now when they know she has a very good memory and that the entire Nation sees them as the ineffective ding-dongs they are!

03-16-2008, 09:18 PM
The fact that BO is where he is now is because of the MSM. Hillary Clinton has been begging them to look at his record and to scrutinize his professional career. They refused to do it. And even when there was significant stories out there (Reve. Wright is not really a new story), they did nothing. Probably because we no longer have an investigative press. The outrage has to be from the people. She won in Ohio and Texas because people are seeing the dew come off the BO rose, just may be too late. We have to keep trying. Barack Obama resign.

the Dem. party leaders may not have to worry about angering the A-A community...obama appears to have done that himself by denouncing Wright...which is seen by many ministers in the A-A community as denouncing the teachings of their A-A churches...
will be interesting to see how it all plays out!...

The 'higher numbers' is more of a perception, in my opinion. The core base of Democrats, those that vote year after year may number around 140 Million, though of course not all of them do vote. But there were close to 60 million Dems who voted for Kerry in the General Election of 2004, nearly 51 million who voted for Gore in 2000, loooong before Obama was ever heard of.
Obama doesn't have the majority of the Core base under his spell.

Well... well... well! Now the next order of business is to continue to make noise that running Obama will only result in more of Republican strangle hold on our country. Speak loud, frequent and in many places "Do we really want to continue to suffer at the hands of the Republican party?" or "Do we want a Democrat in the White House?". Those politicians who prematurely and arrogantly jumped on the Obama band wagon must be stroking out right about now. They may or may not love Obama, and they certainly wanted to be seen with the “cool one”, but I bet there are lots of these folks trying to figure out how to crawl back into the Hilary camp as we speak. Hillary will be running against McCain because she is the ONLY one who will beat him and as I’ve said many times. It is her destiny and our good fortune. :D

Yes, they can certainly change their minds. The civil right's leader who switched from HIllary to Obama was the most prominent one. His constituency overwhelmingly backed Obama, so I'm sure he felt the pressure to hang onto his seat. I read that someone said he was going to challenge him in the coming election. I hope someone will challenge Pelosi in the next election. She needs to go back home!

Updated Feb 17, 2008) The momentum has clearly shifted towards Obama in the last couple of weeks. Some are already writing off Hillary Clinton's chances as the charismatic and younger Barack Obama has won 8 consecutive primaries and stands poised to win Wisconsin on Feb 19th. No astrology needed to predict that outcome! As I see it, however, the astrological picture is rapidly dimming on Obama. This week upcoming will represent the high point of his popularity, and look for the days around the 22nd to be especially good. After that, things will begin to slide. As mentioned previously, the March 4 Texas and Ohio primaries will probably go to Hillary and Obama's chart shows significant stress and unhappiness in the period of March 8-12. This configuration involves a major affliction of Venus and strongly suggests that his difficulties will stem from issues beyond simply bad vote results. This seems like it may be a stressful distraction involving women in some way, and with the influence of P4 Mars station on March 8th (!),
Let me clarify this a bit... The distraction involving women...hmmm, Geraldine? Michelle O? kristen?

I completely agree. Unfortunately it is not only the DNC but also the media. I watched Meet the Press today and I could not believe how "soft" Tim Russert was about the pastor issue and how incisive and persistent he was about Ferraro. The media is the one now responsible to dig deeper. We Americans have the right to learn more about this candidate who, if nominated, will be buried in the general election.

Oh yeah, and we Democrats really love Falwell and Robertson!
Anyhow, at least Falwell and Robertson do not always blame America first. I find Pastor Wright's church pretty scary. A preacher should preach kindness, forgiveness, goodness. Fear factors don't move me. I was quite upset at how excited the audience was when Pastor Wright went on his tirade against America. They were nodding their heads in agreement, clapping, it looked pretty weird. I would never attend church that brings people down. Church should be uplifting, and not about blaming. I guess that's why I no longer go to church. Born again free thinker.

For those crying out for Hillary to go independent, I urge patience :)
This game isn't over yet so there's no reason for her to throw in the towel. She should in fact, continue to take the high ground and focus on the issues.
Now what piques my interest is Fox. Fox is a republican station isn't it? The news about Obama's pastor made its rounds in 07. Yet they didn't bother with it.
Why now? Why not wait until the GE? Unless...2 possibilities:
1. They're pretty damn sure he's gonna lose EVEN without these tapes being aired and they want to milk it before he fades out of sight.
2. Fox doesn't like McCain and would rather Hillary win? Rather unlikely, but expending this kind of political ammo prematurely doesn't make sense. If they had waited for Obama to win (touch wood!), this "revelation" would snap Obama in an instant. Millions of republicans would immediately demand he step down and faced with the kind of pressure that the GOP can dish out...well, I don't see how he won't.
Food for thought!

Food for thought!
i wondered about that, too...i mean, why doesn't fox wait until he has the nomination? Then they could easily go after him and make McCain the winner...

A Democratic strategist's view....
On a totally conservative right wing site? It plays well for the repubs. They think this kills his GE chances.

It makes my head spin the way the party hierarchy walk around in denial. You could almost think they have a collective death wish for November. It's utterly bizarre. Do you suppose they simply count on the media to continue protecting B.O. through the general election???
This boggles the mind of any intelligent human being... we know if this was our candidates pastor or McCain's they would be history... NO ONE IS TALKING ABOUT THIS And the last time I ck'd the "news" MSNBC was interviewing Chris from Huffington Post and saying the blogosphere is really upset and vicious about all this "but we know they do not reflect the views of the general public" WHAT??? they are hiding this story and now the #1 story top news is the ECONOMY oh yeah and it sounded they all the stations were being nice to Eliot Spitzer today too... however there is no let up on Clinton as they continue to decry she is done by delegates and Barack won more yesterday and she can't catch up (neither is he going to win) and of course then they wrap it all up with Pelosi and her infamous comments saying "well, george the superdelegates are not going to decide this they can't go agains the peoples vote..." and then baack's camp is dragging feet on MI and he wants to split FL anything so Hillary doesn't do better and he is this vicious HE ONLY PLAYS TO WIN and he doesn't care how and now it is the bloggers who are upset and "keeping this story alive " (the church one)
can someone help me out here is this the USA home of free speech and radio and tv (oh as long as you are paying for it!) gotcha

Well... well... :D
What we need to do is look like the cool ones. Hillary needs a cool endorsement like Bon Jovi, someone cool but in our age group so they apeal to young and old. he is from Jersey too.

Don't forget, these same Powers-that-Be in the DNC also thought it was fine and dandy to strip we Florida voters of our delegates and apparently thought we'd just sit idly by and accept it. Geniuses! If the DNC thinks it can win Florida (probably a must-win state again) with Obama they are nuts. The guy's spiritual mentor thinks Louis Farrakan (sp?) is an admirable guy.
Oh yeah, that's gonna go over REAL big with the elderly Jewish population down here (who vote in droves)! Good luck!

LETS PUT THE PRESSURE IN THE MEDIA......PLEASE!!!!
I feel utter frustration with the media. Frankly, I could spend (and have ALREADY spent) hours upon hours blogging, commenting, writing letters to editors. I don't think it makes a bit of difference. I'm to the point of not wanting to do it anymore. I feel like it's reactive instead of proactive. I guess the most proactive thing to do would be donate to HRC's campaign. This media bias will surely go down in the history books!

Michelle O? kristen?
The distraction involving women starts with Samantha Powers. If you continue to read the "read more" link you will see the rest of the connections. According to these predictions, this is just the start of his downfall. As far as what I could see, it seems that the rest of the predictions have fallen into place. I have a feeling that the rest of the downfall will come with the Rezko trial, Ayers and Dorhn, more on the church connection and possibly Larry Sinclair case. The news seems to indicate that the next primaries and the numbers will be critically looked at from Obama's side to realize the effect of the news. As I stated, we need to continue to support Hillary and make sure the news continues to expose Obama for what he really is. In the meantime, this prediction indicates that he will then in mid-May or June concede the race. A few months ago, I thought that the way to go was to disqualify Obama on his own connections and record. This is a real possibilty!!!

No, no , no, you cannot give up blogging. I did not blog until after the first super Tuesday. I only started blogging because of how upset I felt about the biased media. We've got to continue to defy them. Like I said before, bloggers tend to uncover stories way before the media picks it up. Vive la resistance!

I wonder if they dont want BO to win? he voted present 130 time's ( I wonder on what bill he voted present? Then we have McCain a weak Republican running, There was a post on hIllary's home-page where someone said Bush introduced Bo as the up and coming Prodigy in Florida a few years back, The republicans knew they wouldnt win this time. what better way to have control then plant a republican in the Democrats circle. Then the media jumps on board.( media, money,Republican) They all hate the Clintons because they really do know how to fix the problem. But that will cost the well off.

Talking to Republicans (in Texas), in their mind there is not a question they can beat HRC. I belive they are banking on something coming out about the Clinton Library. And they are confident Democrats will not vote in huge #'s like in the primary. They are also smiling that the "surge" is working and banking that Iraq will not be that big of an issue. I still believe HRC can win but only if the Democrats come out and vote. I don't think BO stands a chance in H-- to win GE.

Barack is TOAST after the scandals that have come out.. He knows it.. He has so many strikes against him.
Barack: Disloyal to supporters (Alice Parker, Hillary Clinton), Shady deals (Rezko), Poor circle of friends (Ayers, Wright), continued endorsement of extremism and anti-American talk (Wright), his own anti-American talk (wont ever wear lapel pin), difficulty to say simple yes to American song (CNN-AC360 interview), integrity issues and conflict of interest in healthcare (Michelle's part-time job with big pay doing the work of channeling uninsured away from a good hospital).. the money trails, the winking on NAFTA to Canada (+ 5 tries over a week to come clean), the 'forgetfulness' on money dealings with Rezko (and now this!), the unravelling of Rezko (it is just beginning!), difficulty explaining his platform (beyond slogans and catchy phrases), lack of clear and cohesive plans to support plan (and lack of fluency and consistency around own platform), indiscreminately co-sponsoring 400+ bills in the year (hey, "look at my accomplishments!" (has he even read them?) and being one of the top people not at the voting station.. (his voting record is awful, next only to McCain's), voting 'present' too many times (controversial? abstain! talk flip-flop), and took committee chair role on Afghanistan and not holding a single substantial hearing for 15+ months?
Any person without significant accomplishmnets cannot rise to leadership. There are three prior stages before leadership: Learning, Proving expertise and garnering credibility, Becoming a coach and multiplying ones impact. These are stages that he has not completed. Instead, he tried to get on the coat-tails of other leaders with their words.. borrowed, unacknowledged words. It was impactful because of all the historic implications.... both positively inspirational to some and activating old hatred to others!* IRRESPONSIBLE!* Worse, he has done the single most dispicable thing of undoing the work of so many leaders in so short a time..
If he*got there (and I cant imagine a path there anymore!), it would have been incredibly difficult because he has no support system developed from the earlier stages.
Instead now he has to figure out how to use words to keep the momentum when his shady/unholy/unpatriotic support system has been both questioned and can no longer openly support him. Barack may not recognize what is the honorable thing to do.. His party leadership is going to have to help him get there. There is no need for him to continue his quest anymore.
He is DONE!** ENOUGH!!*** ENOUGH ALREADY!!** WE DONT WANT TO SEE HIS FACE ANYMORE!!!
DNC Leaders, take note.. You can no longer put forth Barack Obama regardless of whatever his middlename is/is not!
He cannot recover from this utter failure to demonstrate principals and any genuine core..*America can see thru this one!
AMERICA WILL NOT BE HOODWINKED!!** STEP DOWN!!** DNC, DEMAND THAT HE STEP DOWN!!!
WE ARE DONE WITH BARACK!
AMERICA WILL NOT BE HOODWINKED!!**
All true! Been saying it for about 2 months now!
