you Can Vote For More Than 1!
Vote For Your Top 3!
Great poll. And might just have to move this one to the main room for more exposure!
Yes, voters - you can select 3 options, not just one.
My 3:
- universal health care
- improving US relations abroad
- immigration

However you would like to position this is acceptable to me. Another poll that I will probably post in the next day or two is what attributes do we love about Hillary.
We need polls that generate positive excitement and bring us back to the real reasons that we are supporting our candidates!

Great idea. You are completely correct! Look forward to your polls. We need to be moving in the direction you suggest rather than wasting valuable energy and passion critiquing the opposition - as much as the latter does need to happen, it takes away from our energy and passion for discussing more positive and constructive matters.

It was hard to pick only 3! They're all so important. Interestingly, Hillary seems to be the only candidate who is well-versed on all of them.;)

How about a poll as to the best methods we as supporters can make sure Hillary wins this nomination.

That would be great! You also could post that as a service announcement.
If you want me to set up the poll, just think about the breakdown of the possible choices and you can either send me the breakdown in a PM (and we can discuss it and then I can post it) or you can post it yourself.
When you post a poll, you have to create a new thread. Write something in the post box and then select "creating a post" in the button at the very bottom of your new posting window (it will informally ask you how many poll questions you need...you only get 15 max). Once you hit submit, you will be taken to a new window where you can create your poll. If you figure out that you only need 5 questions, you can change the amount before you submit the poll. You can choose if we only get one choice or multiple choices.

Universal health care is my #2 pick and the mortgage crisis is my #3 pick. My number one pick is not on the list, violence against women.
In the US, on the average, more than three women are murdered by their husbands or boyfriends every day (more than 100 per month, more than 1,200 per year).
In the US, 4 million American women experience a serious assault by a partner during an average 12-month period.
Check out the numbers here, especially for pregnant women:
http://www.ndvh.org/educate/abuse_in_america.html
These numbers are horrendous and everyone should be outraged. This is such an ignored issue because women are not valued in this sexist society. You have seen in this presidential campaign how acceptable sexism is in the mainstream media, and it is also acceptable in mainstream society. This acceptable sexist mindset is what is at the core of violence against women.
Hillary has worked hard on this issue. Barack Obama and John McCain don't even mention this issue on their websites.

I agree with others - it was really hard to pick three! There are others that are very important to me that I couldn't choose.
But there is no question that Hillary has more experience and better plans for all of these issues - and I'm willing to bet they aren't borrowed from other people, unlike someone we know !

My three most impotant are:
1. Universal Healthcare
2. Economy
3. Education
As a new educator, I can't wait to get rid of NCLB and get kids graduating from high school again. Have you seen the news on the graduation rates. I knew this from my studies. I also had to take my son out of school due to the problems.
How do you make one of those polls anyway? Not too tech savvy.

-Economy
-Immigration
- Middle East relations
Living in a border state and having close ties to Minnesota I see a lot of our economic problems and immigration as being closely related. Even in my home town of 20,000 and one industry, Americans have lost what were once good paying and highly desirable jobs with great benefits, to illegals. Since the illegals moved in, the community has lost it's clean crisp small town America atmosphere. There are drugs everywhere; the town is dirty, the beautiful shops on main street are closed and hand lettered signs in Spanish advertise hispanic restaurants and food stores.
In Arizona, it's been over the top for a long time and that is one of my main problems with McCain. 12 million illegals in this country and the Yuma Agriculture industry still complains that they don't have enough labor to pick lettuce. That's because MEXICANS don't want that job either! It pays $19per hr (DES statistics) and Mexicans pick lettuce for about 2 days until they can land a construction job. They've put so many Americans out of work! Identity theft and car theft are the two biggest crimes in Arizona. 83% of the arrest warrants for murder are for illegals. It's even higher in Los Angeles. It may be true that the prison population is comprised of about the same percentage of illegals as society is, BUT, the statistics that aren't discussed by MSM is that 96% of the crimes committed by illegals are violent crimes. Arizona has a policy of early release for illegals if they will go back to their home country. If they are caught in the U S again, they have to complete their original sentence, PLUS. Only 4 % of illegals are eligible for this program because it does not extend to those who committed violent crimes.
Middle East relations are important for all of the obvious reasons...
Health care, which seems to be at the top of most lists here is something I'd rather not see happen. I've lived in other countries that have universal health care and I know what a disaster it is. People die before they can get treatment. I have friends in England and Canada who routinely come to the U S and pay our outrageous prices for care because they can't get it at home. I have a closer family member with cancer and because it's a rare cancer, experimental medicine is the only thing available to her. Her sister in England sent her here because it was simply not somthing she could get there and as it is, she is still surviving after 15 months.. when she was given 4 months to live.
I'd much rather see the end of frivolous law suits and the end of insurance companies dictating to doctors, see corporate entities provide insurance benefits again for employees and see medical costs decline, making insurance affordable.
