Legendary artist Sir Elton John will perform at a solo concert on behalf of Hillary Clinton's campaign on April 9, 2008 at Radio City Music Hall in New York. The event, called "Elton and Hillary: One Night Only," is Elton John's first public solo concert in New York City without his band since his solo concert at Madison Square Garden in October 2000.
"I'm not a politician but I believe in the work that Hillary Clinton does," said John. "I'm excited to support Hillary by performing at what will be a truly memorable night."

I would love to go, but it is kind of a drive for me down the NY State Thruway ;-).
I am hoping that he has some surprise guests...more Hillary supporters, like Madonna. *heavy sigh*

Hopefully, Hillary will stream this live on her campaign website - hey, even charge a small "admission" fee to view it. Good fundraising opportunity.
YAHOO! Go Sir Elton! We can feel the love!

Well, I've done my good deed for the day then,:D! If anyone has contact with the higher-ups in the campaign, maybe suggest that to them. I bet she could rake in a million + on that alone

Yes, this should be a huge concert. I suspect there may even be some Obama supporters in the crowd who just couldn't resist the temptation to see EJ in concert!! ;)
I am definitely going to try and get tickets.

fantastic news, really. as i'm blogging, i see the news on tv. if i were nearer NY, i'd surely go. i'm wondering if they could put the concert on pay-per-view tv, and raise some funds for the campaign? that way, we who live in other states could also watch--- and contribute at the same time. we could host "concert parties" at home!

Thank you! :) This is exactly what I wanted my avatar to convey: the feeling of tranquility and hope. This forum is such a refreshing break from the news sites, which seem to have been taken over by angry Obama supporters. I find it ironic that a politician who is supposed to be all about unity and hope inspires such aggressive, hateful, and downright vicious behavior in his followers. Well, I am getting off topic - just wanted to say that I am happy to have found this oasis of mutual respect and common sense!

What would you guys think about a pay per view event of the concert? Don't you think it would boost Hillary's fundraising for the event if it were offered on a live stream pay per view? I already contacted the campaign about the idea but if more people were interested maybe we can get them to do it. Let Hillary know if you would order pay per view.:)

Heard on the news that hillary may have a problem with Elton John raising money for her 'cause he is British. I am afraid they have a point sa four years ago, I trried to give money to the herry campaign and they refused because I aws not American. THIS IS WHY I AM NOW A PROUD AMERICAN!!!!:)

FEC Spokesman Confirms There Was Nothing Unlawful About Elton John Performance
Send to a Friend »
Recent news reports mistakenly suggest Hillary broke the law by allowing Elton John, a foreign national, to perform for her campaign.
Hillary’s campaign has complied with the law. Since 1987, the FEC has consistently held that foreign nationals may volunteer their time for campaigns on an uncompensated basis. Elton John is simply volunteering his uncompensated time to appear at the concert. This appearance is consistent with past FEC rulings.
Bob Biersack, FEC Spokesman confirmed that there was nothing unlawful about the Elton John performance:
"I did not intend to convey in my conversation with the Washington Times reporter that there is anything unlawful about Elton John performing in a concert to raise money for a US presidential candidate. The Advisory Opinion 2004-26 is clear in the circumstances of the request that foreign nationals may volunteer and may even solicit contributions from non-foreign nationals, provided they are not soliciting other foreign nationals."

SO NO MENTION OF THE CRAP THE NEWS KEEPS FEEDING US
The news is pro-obama and are just trying to counter the finance corruption charges by obama supporter Governor from Puerto Rico

first of all the money from the fundraiser is for hillary's campaign. he is donating his time only and not money. unless there are rules against donating your time i would like to know.

You don’t have to be an American to sing for someone!
It’s us that will give the money.
And isn’t Elton John American as well?

This is one of those BS again. Media is scared because this is one event that A LOT of people will go to and it will be a huge deal. They don’t know what to do with them selves since they make it so believable that “no one likes her”
I’m sure a lot of star power will be there as well.
God, I hate the media!

everyone-please understand this. the media once again has gotten to some of you. DON'T LISTEN TO THEM. DON'T LISTEN TO MORONS WHO MAKE TRASHY STATEMENTS, BECAUSE THEY WANT TO AGGRAVATE YOU. IF SOMEONE SAYS THEY ARE CHANGING THEIR VOTE BECAUSE THE NEWS COMES UP WITH BS , DON'T LET IT GET TO YOU. JUST REMEMBER ONE THING AND THAT IS HILLARY IS YOUR CHOICE FOR A REASON AND SHOULD NOT BE INFLUENCED BY ALL THE GARBAGE ON THE NEWS MEDIA.

The form is still up (click the image here). If it was illegal, she would not have it there. So, keep pushing it. It is a great cheap opportunity to see one of the best performers around!

I agree, BUT I am just afraid the news just turned a few people who would want to come to the concert for Hillary would not get tickets or come because they are afraid the money won't get to Hillary's campaign. HENCE, the medias is trying to attack Hillary at all cost. It is very very upsetting.
And then they say Hillary resorts to Tonya Harding tactics! This is Obama Nazi sabotaging well into action! As soon as the story goes on line let's give 'em a mouthful!
the concert is sold out. a friend of mine tried to buy tickets. it is already sold out. this is just one more "oh sh**t!" moment for the ob people.

I doubt there will be a problem as long as American citizens are the ones donating the money.
Hillary's camp needs to broadcast this concert on her website either in exchange for or in encouragement of donations. People are more likely to donate if they are receiving something in return, however small.

They should advertice all over online. At least it could bring people to the site. But the FOX was talking that and actually indirectly instigating to get Obama campaign to file a complain. They gave him advice what he needs to do and what the illegal part might be. (They are arguing that the FEC laws might say that as a foreigner you cannot donate directly or indirectly, and asking if giving his time to sing counts as an indirect donation. Everybody is working overtime (media:cnn, msnbc, abc, fox, nytimes, washingtonpost, DNC, pelosi, big democratic bosses, Obama, Obamanites but that should make us and HILLARY stronger and we should show them. And help to bring all Obama's garbage and lies to light
Please, people, get facts correct before reporting inflammatory news!

Maybe it is not too late to do pay for view.. I'll have to run over and plug a phone line back into my TV.
Some of us would not travel that far or want to fight the crowds, but hate to miss this and yes would pay to watch.
Since it is sold out that part should not be a problem.
