Ms. Ferraro was, as usual, absolutely wonderful last night on Hannity and Colmes. Gerry is as flabbergasted as we are by Dean’s comment characterizing Republicans as the “White Party”. What has happened when the head of the DNC thinks it is ok to say things like this?

Geraldine’s emergence has become an interesting development in this alternately exciting and disgusting primary season. We are finally getting a chance to get know her better…and have discovered that she has the heart of a PUMA. She is a woman of the people — all the people — and she has been so impressive during this trying time for the party. It is becoming apparent who the real grown-ups are in the Democratic party, and it makes me proud that they are those great Americans that I have respected all along.

The Fox and the PUMA

It feels like Fox is morphing into the PUMA network. Lou Dobbs is the only thing worth watching on CNN anymore…maybe he’ll make a move to Fox too, after they have realized how large our demographic is. It’s great to see Clinton Democrats represented so well - and it is strange that Fox seems to be the only outlet really talking in depth about what has been going on in this election. MSNBC & CNN are nothing but hours upon hours of sweet bouquets to Obama. I haven’t watched MSNBC since February and CNN since March with the exception of Dobbs. Fox has been pretty even-handed in their reporting on McCain, they do lean a little, but they are not afraid to discuss his shortcomings. They have certainly been more ”fair and balanced” than their competitors.

Rupert Murdoch owns a nice bit of Fox and he knows a little about business. He is “investing” in the PUMAs for a very sound business reason. Even just focusing on the female PUMAs for now - women are a gigantic demographic, over half the population of the country, and have incredible buying power. Republicans, the traditional viewership for FOX News, revere capitalism, so of course they like us. We spend. Fox advertisers like us for the same reason. But this new openness to Hillary’s folks may represent more than just financial expediency. Cynical people might say it is just because Fox wants McCain elected. Athough probably true to a degree, Fox appears to have moved a little to the center. So have PUMAs — or maybe some of us have always been there.

PUMAs certainly have one thing in common with Republicans - we believe that the world is much too volatile right now to elect a presidential candidate with so little experience. Fox, to their credit, has recognized PUMAs as patriotic Americans involved in an honest conversation about moving the country forward without the partisan polarization that is has become the hallmark of our government today. Fox has been willing to help facilitate our discussion. I appreciate this, and hope they will continue to invite divergent viewpoints on the network to help us open communication channels between the parties. PUMAs are becoming a huge conduit for real CHANGE for the American people and thankfully we have a way to reach out to voters that don’t spend much time on the internet.

It’s time to Wake up America. Money and special interests are obstructing any attempts to help the citizens of this country improve the quality of their lives. We need to become informed and act. There is a ton of work to be done, and we can’t "delegate" it any more.

I can hardly believe I am saying this, but thank you Fox News. Now let’s reach across the aisle and face the challenges of this country. Wouldn’t that be a CHANGE?

This is a great post. I posted the following quote from Lou Dobb's webpage on the thread Jolene posted to vote on his site I thought that it really expresses how I feel and, I think, how a lot of people are feeling right now. I think it fits nicely in with your post.

America belongs to each of us, uncluttered and untainted by advertising images, media bias, and corporate greed. It is an America that is full of choices and one in which we take an active role in our community and in our nation. Unfortunately, I'm no longer sure that this is the America in which we live.

I saw Ferraro on a re-airing of H&C very late last night, she was great. She really didn't know what to say about Howie Dean's latest blurt, I think she knows he's insane.

I have to say that I am surprised that I like Fox so much. I am glued to that channel every night now (except when I watch Nancy Grace). They really do seem to be much more balanced and fair in general, compared to CNN, MSNBC, etc.

I think she would be perfect for US Attorney General. She is fair and honest and knows how to speak to the public.

Great Post and she is sticking to her guns. She is still deciding rather or not to back Obama. This is great.

It is a very weak sign to play the race card every time I am running out of arguments.

I'm absolutly sure that Ferraro will NOT vote for BHO in November!
No way!

I think it's true, FOX has moved center. There's no where else for it to go since even their own nominee is a moderate, not a far right conservative.

I think they are PUMA friendly because of four goals:

If Obama is the nominee, make sure McCain wins by being HRC friendly.
Make sure Obama isn't the nominee. If a Dem is going to win, I think they'd rather have HRC over Obama.
Make the current Democratic party and congress look like idiots.
Make the liberals realize how biased the liberal media really is.

They've accomplished the last two goals for sure.

I feel bad for all the downticket Dems who are taking a hit because the leadership is so incompitent. I still believe in the Democratic party, I will always be a Democrat, even if I make a protest vote this year. I much prefer its platform and values when it's not hijacked by these fools.

I am willing to bet that Gerry Ferraro is working on helping to make Plan A a reality. Just a guess! :)

They've hit the nail on the head. With everything that is going on right now in the world...instability, economic down turns, etc. we need a President who is ready on day one to LEAD.

But she's smart not to divulge her intentions, whatever they might be.

She is looking out for Hillary. She is one of the few women that stuck up for Hillary. She understands what it is like for Hillary.

That I would prefer watching Fox to any of the other news stations. I have come to respect them . It was not that long ago that I refused to watch fox. When I saw how Hillary was treated with respect when she was on was the turning point for me. Coming to the middle of the road a little more benifits everyone. I wish we could see more of it. :)

She is looking out for Hillary. She is one of the few women that stuck up for Hillary. She understands what it is like for Hillary.

I remember when I was a little girl and she had been nominated. I was not yet where I am today politically. My parents weren't opposed to any of it, but they had not explained feminist politcs...etc or the historical signifigance of what we were seeing.

So I was bewildered why there was so much public stuff over her. I was simply and quietly figuring that 'another woman' would be picked as VP next election.

It hadn't yet entered my mind that I lived in a world where I and other girls/ women were being restricted for who we were.
