Individuals arrested at the Democratic National Convention will be processed at an industrial warehouse with chain-link cells topped by razor wire, a facility some have compared to the U.S. prison at Guantanamo Bay.
Groups planning marches, concerts and other events during the Aug. 25-28 convention dub the center "Gitmo on the Platte," for the nearby South Platte River.
The Denver sheriff's office, which operates city and county jails, insists anyone taken to the center will be there only a few hours while they're fingerprinted, issued a court date and released after posting bail. Others will be transferred to facilities designed for longer detentions.
"It's just ridiculous, the thing looks like a dog pound," said Mark Cohen of the protest group Recreate-68 Alliance. "Even if you only put dogs in there, people will be complaining about it. I think you ought to have the Red Cross and Amnesty International come take a look at this thing."
This looks more and more Hitler-style by the minute. Please be careful in Denver Pumas.

Thanks, Starr. I really hope I don't end up in one of the aforementioned jail cells. I may have to call one of my ex boyfriend cops to help me out on the logistics of safety in Denver. Have to say, I don't like the sound of, "razor-wire".

No problem. Yeah the "razor-wire" didn't sound to good to me either. It sounds like it's going to be a witch hunt for Hillary supporters. So please everyone travel in groups and make sure someone knows where you are at all times. I hate to be paranoid but I love you guys and gals and I don't have bail money for 18 million people.

You know why they're taking pains to use all this incarceration lingo, don't you? To intimidate you from exercising your freedom of speech. They can't control you, and that scares the hell out of them. Good! Think of Harriet Christian sounding off outside the Rules Committee hearing. Can you imagine their response to a thousand Harriets turned loose on Denver?
It's easy for me to say, since I can't be there; but if anyone is arrested for reasonable exercise of their Constitutional rights, the negative P.R. for Obama, the DNC and the City of Denver will be more than the harm they inflict on you.
Make no mistake: this is war, and there are casualties in war. Thank heaven it probably won't involve bloodshed; but remember the India of Gandhi, where, on one occasion, hundreds of men, women and children were shot and killed by British troops while attending a peaceful public speech on non-violent resistance. That wasn't all that long ago.
Just think: if enough people are arrested - not for true misbehavior, but for reasonable exercise of their Constitutional freedoms - it won't stay swept under the carpet. It will get out, with video. And it won't make sense to Joe and Martha Citizen, who haven't been paying real close attention up to now; and they will ask themselves, "What's wrong with this guy, and what's wrong with the DNC and the cops?"
What a bonanza for the cause of freedom, and all for the price of a bit of jail time: a medal of honor you will wear on your soul.

Hear Hear! Jail ain't nothing but a thang.......
I was born in the wrong decade, I swear. Cops don't scare me, and never have. Anarchy is looking better and better....."A theoretical social state in which there is no governing person or body of persons, but each individual has absolute liberty (without the implication of disorder)."

First of all, we do NOT need to "recreate 1968", thank you very much. We already have our own share of issues to deal with, and we now have the wisdom of all those folks that were involved "way back when" a social revolution created masses of people interested in their government.
Here's a few tips:
1- Avoid getting arrested, unless it's part of a PLAN with your group, and you already have bail money set aside. This is the responsible social-activist way to do this. (If you just shoot your mouth off, nobody will listen to the message.) The group should have a lawyer at the ready.
2- If you do get arrested, don't resist and don't mouth off. Try to be in with other folks that you know (and can serve as witnesses). And, pray that you have not been drinking, etc. You will be processed and eventually released on bail. (You'll just miss out on the party until you are.)
I will try to find a link that lists constructive suggestions on this issue.
But remember: What is your intent? What is the reason that you are there? How is that best accomplished? Stay in focus - a demonstration is not a venue to act out.

The more the DNC, Obama camp try to intimidate Hillary supporters or anyone opposing or questioning Obama or the dnc, the more people will show up in Denver and be a part of the march. Intimidation is not acceptable and should not be tolerated. The oppression, abuse, and intimidation that has been a part of the Obama campaign is going to be met with resistance, and should people continue to be threatened, intimidated, to try and make people fall in line with the party, you're going to see so many people vote Republican, the Dems are not going to know what hit them. If Hillary is not given the proper resepct that any candidate should and has been given, then expect more people from all parties voting McCain and opposing any intimidation. This is not Germany and these type of warnings, threats in the media aimed at anyone who has any quesitons about Obama, are going to have a very negative affect on the dnc and Obama. The DNC, the Dem convention is starting to have shades of Hitler.
Hitler used razor and or chicken wire to intimidate and keep people prisoner:

Good point. Video would definitely get this out to the public. In this age of you-tube, you would think they would have more sense than this.

I just heard a fox talking head say that perhaps it is the fault of the protester if he gets himself arrested and they would get what they deserve for disrupting the convention.. I guess he doesnt know about that little clause in the constiution which gives us the right to peaceful assembly, without fear of arrest... did I just wake up from a nightmare in some other country????????

Will it be like one of the re-education camps in "Red Dawn?" Only they'll have a loudspeaker going 24/7, playing Obama's speeches.
Hey, if you get locked up, just yell "Wolverines!" :D They'll get the point!
Seriously, I hope that happens to no one! You all be safe!

Make sure you have your medical I.D. bracelets if you wear one.
And the name of a good lawyer. Expect lots of lawsuits.
Also, everyone bring your cameras, cell phones and get anything suspiscious, police abuse if possible on camera. Have people watching your back.
Stay in numbers so that you have witnesses in the event anything does happen.
Report any police abuse immediately.
Make certain you have all important phone numbers with you bring a book, or program them into your phone - phone numbers of family numbers, friends, clergy, lawyers, and people you trust - as well as phone numbers of others you know from the convention.
Make certain your phone is charged.
Find the media, people you can trust in Denver who would be most likely to report the truth. Find these people ahead of time, do some research. Make certain you have email addresses of some of the media. Have the address of internet cafe's, libraries, etc.

Ok all you Senator Clinton supporters. You better behave and not make much noise in dissent when we allow Senator Obama to win. We have an agenda to carry out. If you don't behave you all will be put into the "DOG POUND."

You know, this scares the living hell out of me for our people. I absolutely cannot imagine the potential chaos that might occur there. I know our people will be civil, patriotic, and exhibit excellent behavior. It's the other groups that I fear. There are the really radical, way out there groups that probably won't bother you really. But, I'm worried about the Bots. They are the most vile, hateful group of people and they are PISSED that we haven't fallen in line. I just hope and pray that everyone is prepared and has everything they need in case of an emergency.
Please everyone who is going - please be careful. I wish I could be there but just cannot do it for a variety of reasons. But, I will be there in spirit and every single person who goes there to support Hillary will be in my prayers!

Seriously,
There is no reason to be afraid. I'm not. I have never felt so strong about a cause as I feel now. I'm not looking for a fight with anyone. We all have our opinions, beliefs, reasons for going. If I cannot express those beliefs without fear of retribution, then there is no reason to live here.
Could I encounter violence? Sure. But, I will not retaliate. I will not get sucked in. Violence has never solved a thing. And it never will. We must find equal ground as a people in this country and I hope that no matter the outcome in Denver, we are smart enough to realize that this country is an expeirment in co-habitation.
This will be an uncertian historic moment. I fully expect Barack to be the nominee, to the detriment of the Democratic Party. This is what happens when parties (dictators) don't listen to the will of the people. They fail.
Am I anxious? You bet. As is every single person going there. I hope to talk to many, many people from across our country. I'm so looking forward to it.
