Hello all,

The administrator and mods are always working hard to make sure that this board complies with a certain standard of conduct, decorum and respect. If your post has been edited, deleted or merged by the administrator or moderators, you may respectfully pm the person you wish to address about your concern. ALL duplicate threads will be merged. In the best interest of having an ongoing conversation about the topic, it makes more sense to have it all in one thread. If you see that your comment or thread has been edited, deleted or merged, before you pm a mod, read the threads below. These actions were most likely taken because they do not comply with the information within the threads below.

Above all have a great time posting, but respect each other, the administrator and the mods.

Happy Posting,
Starr

BUMPING WITH A REQUEST:

Please - try not to post duplicate threads/stories. Post in the one that already exists. We are very busy with all the new members and traffic, and it is getting difficult to keep up with all the threads we need to merge because the topic or article is already posted.

Thanks.

[kidding!]Ok, I see you all ganging up on me! You hate me because I'm a nincompoop. Well, nincompoops have feelings too! I'm oppressed! Yeah, yeah, that's the ticket. I got some news for you people with extra buttons: we nincompoops are a world majority! That's right! If we could do anything right, we'd all revolt and give you people with better sense a stern talking to! I have demands... I can't remember them... but I have 'em! I'm pretty sure they haven't been met! Failure to capitulate will result in the horrible consequence of me making mean faces at you! Oh yeah, I remember one of my demands: I demand an NFL subforum! Hillary could play football, she's tough, right? She can probably throw a football better'n Bill! I'll put her on my Fantasy Football team! Where you at Muzz? You've been ducking me on this sensitive issue. Power to the nincompoops!!! Woooohoooooooo[/kidding!]

You folks do a bang-up job here. Please don't take me behind the woodshed. But can you put "topic merged" on threads that repeat other existing ones? Keep it up for a few minutes? There are so many threads and people do put similar topics up all the time. It's hard to know simply by thread title that it is going to be merged. I believe I've gotten all the rules down (the hardest of which is to always try to apply the polite title to the opponent). But I come to the forum and then am gone for a long time. When I come back and there's an interesting thread, I hop on. (Before I start a new thread I always look to see if the topic's already being done). I suppose it's just bad timing that I've been working on posts while merging has been going on. Anyway, the work you all do here is amazing.

There have also been some very funny threads that have disappeared altogether. Is there a command you can put on that would say the thread has been deleted? Then I wouldn't have to try and see if it has been moved somewhere else.

Thanks.

When I find a topic on the internet that I think might be worth posting on this forum I try and scan to the bottom of page one on this forum to see if someone else has already started the topic. Sometimes I get sidetracked and only get 2/3's of the way down because as I check I see a couple of different topics I want to respond to.

Now I have to try and remember which topic I want to respond to while checking to see if the topic I want to start has already been started by someone else.

I recall on an automotive forum that as I typed in a new topic title, similar topic titles would appear beneath the one I was composing. I found that useful as I could make a quick decision as to whether to continue with my "new" topic or simply add to an existing one.

Omy gosh Alessandro - I have that same problem of getting sidetracked! I thought I was the only one! lol!

I like this idea about the topic titles, that sounds like something I need.
