Hello everyone.

We are doing a second round of commercial production at the Our Country Deserves Better PAC and we wanted to do a web-ad that chronicles a litany of Obama's gaffes.

We want to be able to put together a spot that's longer than :30 seconds or :60 seconds (and hence the reason we don't envision putting it on television).

I know there's Obama's 57 state reference. I know he at one point said he'd make a good Commander Of Chief, instead of Commander in Chief.

What other gaffes come to your mind? If there is already a thread that has all this information please direct me to it.

I appreciate everyone's input!

- Joe

All of this proves how OUT OF TOUCH Obama is with the culture of this country. Seriously!

Even I who am no longer a football fan know who the Nittany Lions are.

He grew up far away from this country and even when he eventually came here he was from a different culture and mindset of marxist entrenched Hawaiian university culture.

All of his geographical gaffes, etc. POINT THIS OUT DRAMATICALLY!

I don't know how many of these are on the other threads, but here are a couple I have.

1.Obama announces he's in St Louis when he was actually in Kansas City
2.Obama just welcomed Joe Biden as the next President
3.Obama statement to Georgia; takes 3 attempts to get response right
4.Obama asked Iowans" Anybody gone into Whole Foods lately and see what they charge for arugula?"
5.Obama says: "It’s always a bad practice to say 'always' or 'never'"
6."Let me be absolutely clear,Israel is a strong friend of Israel's"
7..“The objective of this trip was to have substantive discussions with people like President Karzai or Prime Minister Maliki or President Sarkozy or others who I expect to be dealing with over the next 8 to 10 years.
8.Last May, he claimed that Kansas tornadoes killed a whopping 10,000 people: “In case you missed it, this week, there was a tragedy in Kansas. Ten thousand people died — an entire town destroyed.” The actual death toll: 12.
9.“Over the last 15 months, we’ve traveled to every corner of the United States. I’ve now been in 57 states? I think one left to go.”
10.In front of a roaring Sioux Falls, South Dakota audience, Obama exulted: “Thank you Sioux City…I said it wrong. I’ve been in Iowa for too long. I’m sorry.”
11.Explaining why he was trailing Hillary Clinton in Kentucky, Obama again botched basic geography: “Sen. Clinton, I think, is much better known, coming from a nearby state of Arkansas. So it’s not surprising that she would have an advantage in some of those states in the middle.” On what map is Arkansas closer to Kentucky than Illinois?
12.Last March, on the anniversary of the Bloody Sunday march in Selma, Alabama, he claimed his parents united as a direct result of the civil rights movement: “There was something stirring across the country because of what happened in Selma, Alabama, because some folks are willing to march across a bridge. So they got together and Barack Obama Jr. was born.” Obama was born in 1961. The Selma march took place in 1965. His spokesman, Bill Burton, later explained that Obama was “speaking metaphorically about the civil rights movement as a whole.”
13.“We only have a certain number of them and if they are all in Iraq, then it’s harder for us to use them in Afghanistan.” The real reason it’s “harder for us to use them” in Afghanistan: Iraqis speak Arabic or Kurdish. The Afghanis speak Pashto, Farsi, or other non-Arabic languages.
14.Oregon, Obama pleaded ignorance of the decades-old, multi-billion-dollar massive Hanford nuclear waste clean-up:
“Here’s something that you will rarely hear from a politician, and that is that I’m not familiar with the Hanford, uuuuhh, site, so I don’t know exactly what’s going on there. (Applause.) Now, having said that, I promise you I’ll learn about it by the time I leave here on the ride back to the airport.”
I assume on that ride, a staffer reminded him that he’s voted on at least one defense authorization bill that addressed the “costs, schedules, and technical issues” dealing with the nation’s most contaminated nuclear waste site.
15.Obama told a Portland crowd over the weekend that Iran doesn’t “pose a serious threat to us”–cluelessly arguing that “tiny countries” with small defense budgets can’t do us harm– and then promptly flip-flopped the next day, claiming, “I’ve made it clear for years that the threat from Iran is grave.”
16.Obama told the Orlando Sentinel that he would meet with Chavez and “one of the obvious high priorities in my talks with President Hugo Chavez would be the fermentation of anti-American sentiment in Latin America, his support of FARC in Colombia and other issues he would want to talk about.”
Next day:
“We will shine a light on any support for the FARC that comes from neighboring governments,” he said in a speech in Miami. “This behavior must be exposed to international condemnation, regional isolation, and - if need be - strong sanctions. It must not stand.”
17.Obama told Larry King on CNN — asked about that anti-Hillary Rodham Clinton YouTube ad, a doctored version of a spot created for Apple computers — “We don’t have the technical capacity to create something like that.”
18.He made a speech in the aftermath of the Virginia Tech tragedy that was not only inappropriate but downright painful to listen to. He compared that tragedy to every liberal cause you can think of: abortion, Iraq, verbal violence, and my personal favorite the violence of losing one’s job to outsourcing. short of shocking. Imagine if your loved was killed in the tragedy and Barack Obama is comparing that pain to the pain of losing your job
19."And it’s not surprising then they get bitter, they cling to guns or religion or antipathy to people who aren’t like them or anti-immigrant sentiment or anti-trade sentiment as a way to explain their frustrations."
20.Obama referred to the ‘president’ of Canada. Canada has a prime minister, not a president.
21.Johnstown, Pennsylvania. Barrack told the crowd that he didn’t want his daughters to be “punished with a baby” if they made a mistake, of a sexual nature.
22.Barack made this solemn pledge to the people of Oregon: [H]e will continue his leadership in protecting national treasures like the Great Lakes from threats such as industrial pollution, water diversion, and invasive species.
Oregon to Barack: the Great Lakes are not in Oregon!
23.“How’s it going, Sunshine? Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you everybody. It’s good to be in Sunshine!” But then he said it again, and again — “When we are unified sunshine, nobody can stop us!” — and it became clear: Obama thought he was in Sunshine, Fla. But he was not. He was in Sunrise,
24.GG:
Do you still attend Trinity?
OBAMA:
Yep. Every week. 11 oclock service.
Ever been there? Good service.
Also later:
OBAMA:
Obviously as an African American politician rooted in the African American community, I spend a lot of time in the black church. I have no qualms in those settings in participating fully in those services and celebrating my God in that wonderful community that is the black church.
I thought he didn't know what was going on in his church?

Thank you everyone!

A) I very much appreciate you taking the time to point me in the right direction.

B) I told my colleagues, "let's ask the Hillary Clinton forum, they've been dealing with Obama for months on end and if anyone is an encyclopedia on this stuff, it's these folks."

You came through. Thanks!

Obama has had more gaffes in the past 8 months, than Bush has had in 8 years. Here are just a few: 57 states, 10,000 people were killed, the bomb that fell on Pearl Harbor, Breathalyzer for asthma patients, I'm in St. Louis, sweetie, I see a lot of you today (dead people), just let me eat my waffle right now, and he when he gets names and places wrong, he blames it on being too tired.

Last year there was a tornado - he went to the town and said 10,000 people had died.

In his speech last week he said he'd pay for all those goodies by sitting down and going through the federal budget line by line and veto different items.
Sounds great - except it's illegal. Line item veto was ruled unconstitutional (he did not offer any other plan but this)

There's the breathalyzer/inhaler gaffe.

There's the uncle at Auschwitz gaffe.

There's the gaffe abouth his parents allegedly meeting at some famous civil rights event

While in europe he claimed he did some work on some committe that he never did.

There are the various opposing positions he took on undivided/divided Jerusalem.

He lied about why he was opposed to the Born Alive Infant's protection Act - later an audio tape contradicted his claim.

There's the creepy "punish" with a baby statement.

He is still claiming McCain defined the wealthy as those making more than $5 million. Everyone knows McCain was joking.

He is still claiming McCain questions his patriotism. McCain has questioned his priorities and his judgement.

I know there's more but my memory is failing me.

Here's a great one people often overlook:

In a Meet The Press appearance with Tim Russert, he accidentally described gay people as "people we don't like". LOL

MAJOR GAFFE!

Sorry, just watched it again and he said "people we don't like" not "people we hate". He was talking about gay marriage and gay rights.

here's the clip. (He says it at the end of the clip):

How about when he wanted the UN Security Council to issue a resolution against Russia for invading Georgia--ignoring the fact that Russia has veto power on the council and it just wasn't too likely they'd condemn themselves?

I'd say that was more than a gaffe. Total ignorance perhaps.
