She may have let Tom Cruise jump all over her couch, but Oprah Winfrey says that Sarah Palin can't even sit on it.

At least not until after the presidential election, that is.

Responding to media reports first publicized on Matt Drudge's "The Drudge Report" claiming there was turmoil at Winfrey's Harpo Studios about whether to book the GOP vice presidential nominee on the popular talk show, Winfrey's camp said today that while she has nothing against Palin, the veep hopeful won't appear on the show anytime soon.

"The item in today's 'Drudge Report' is categorically untrue," Winfrey said in a written statement provided to ABCNews.com. "There has been absolutely no discussion about having Sarah Palin on my show.

"At the beginning of the presidential campaign, when I decided that I was going to take my first public stance in support of a candidate, I made the decision not to use my show as a platform for any of the candidates," Winfrey wrote.

"I agree that Sarah Palin would be a fantastic interview, and I would love to have her on after the campaign is over."

But Winfrey, who publicly endorsed Democratic presidential nominee Barack Obama in May 2008, is being widely criticized by some fans of the show who say she's being unfair and biased.

"She's being two-faced," said Dr. Cindy Grossman-Green, a pediatrician and Oprah fan from outside Philadelphia. "She initially had Obama on her show, but now that she's decided [to support him], she won't have any other political candidates on."

Grossman-Green is referring to the two times Obama appeared on Winfrey's show prior to announcing his plans to run for the presidency, once in January 2005 and, more recently, in October 2006.

Some Winfrey fans say that Obama's appearance on the show at all -- regardless of the timing and his political aspirations during his visits -- are irrelevant and that Winfrey's decision to blacklist Palin from her show could very well backfire.

Good, let it backfire! I hope the McCain campaign moves quickly to get Sarah on some of the other shows; Ellen, The View, etc. Watch their ratings go up, while O's go down. Watch Sarah's popularity with women go up from these shows. Watch the McCain/Palin poll numbers go up.

Many, many women feel the media has been unfair. Half of all females in Survey USA's latest poll think the media are favoring Obama.

If Oprah snubs Sarah, she will suffer enormous consequences. Her dilemma is that if she has Sarah on and lets her talk, her guy Obama will lose votes. And if she tries to put Sarah on the spot, she could lose fans in droves.

How will that audience react to a freeze-out of Palin? Many want to see Palin speak to their issues, and might assume that the most successful woman in American entertainment would welcome the opportunity to make that introduction. Instead of making a business decision to do so, though, Winfrey has apparently made a political calculation that Palin will outshine the man she supports for President.

Obviously, someone is afraid of what will happen when Palin meets the American people through the media. From what I see, it’s not John McCain or Sarah Palin who fears it.

Oh yes, The View! I wanna see Sarah Palin rip Joy Behar and Whoopi Goldberg to shreds!

Oprah's the only one who doesn't want to interview Palin. Every other talk show host would love to have her on their show. It would be record breaking ratings that command bigger bucks from advertisers.

I don't think Palin should go there.
Oprah wouldn't make a fair interview. She would try to hit her with this smear stuff.

I am very diappointed in the fact that Oprah chooses not to put Palin on.

The problem for Oprah is her audience IS Palins. The majority are middle class white women. Mothers who work out of home and share the same everyday burdens as Palin. There is no way for her audience not to identify with her.

Palin is going to come across as Martha Stewart with a hunting rifle. A modern day woman who is successful at doing what men have always said could not be done. Having it all. A successful marriage, a happy family, and a challenging career. Someone who fired the Governor's chef and still manages to put dinner on the table. Probably something she shot herself ;)

I think Joy Behar has a bigger problem with Sarah Palin than Whoopie Goldberg. Apparently, Whoopies daughter had a baby at 15 and kept the baby.

YouTube - VIEW on Sarah Palin Parenting & Teen Pregnancy. Totally left out adoption as ption for anyone!

That's a point I didn't think about.
You are right.

Well then ... GO PALIN. :D

Last night's Gretawire poll said it all.

97% of all those who voted (I think it was like 34,00 or something!) said they thought Oprah was lying about why she wouldn't have Palin on the show.

That shows that no one believes a word she's saying.

Let her keep talking -- no one is listening.
