More covert sexism from the Obama camp!
An original member of Barack Obama’s finance committee said Friday that Sarah Palin is putting her career above her family by accepting the nomination as John McCain’s running mate.
Howard Gutman made the argument on “The Laura Ingraham Show,” telling the radio host that the Alaska governor should focus her energy on her unwed, pregnant teenage daughter.
“If my daughter had just come home at 17 years old and said, ‘Mom, Dad, I’m pregnant, we have a family problem,’ I wouldn’t say, ‘You know what we’re going to do? We’re going to take this private family problem … I’m going to go on the international stage and broadcast it to the world’,” he said.
Gutman later added: “If you take a daughter who’s got this emotional strife and subject her to the most intense scrutiny of the world at this time in her life, I think you’ve put your career above your family.”
The Obama campaign couldn’t be reached immediately for comment, but Gutnam’s statements contrast starkly with the campaign’s declaration this week that Palin’s family is off limits for criticism. It isn’t clear what role, if any, Gutman still has in the campaign.
ABC News reported that the Obama camp issued a statement saying Gutman’s comments don’t reflect the campaign’s views.
Earlier in the week, Obama said anyone spreading rumors about Palin’s daughter’s pregnancy would be fired.
“I think people’s families are off limits, and people’s children are especially off limits,” Obama said. “This shouldn’t be part of our politics.”
Gutman called the teenage pregnancy a “pressure cooker” for the Palins, and also suggested her son’s Down syndrome should factor in to her decision.
“The proper attack is not that a woman shouldn’t run for vice president with five kids, it’s that a parent, when they have a family in need, a Down’s baby who needs them — a father or mother,” he said.
He said his argument had nothing to do with Palin being a woman.
“This wasn’t a working mother issue, this was a parent issue,” he said

Her husband is a stay-at-home Dad. So that takes care of this "arguement." They are really stupid to keep up these sexist attacks.

Is Howard Gutman currently part of Obamas team? If he is, didn't Obama say that he would fire anyone on his staff that didn't leave Sarah Palins family out of this campaign?

This is all Obama's plan to bleed the McCain campaign by a million cuts. It's a multi-pronged attack on the McCain campaign with what seems to be 10 rumors a day which most certainly originate at the Obama campaign, though they are disseminated by his cronies at the Daily Kos, MSNBC, and Huffington Post. These are so called "former staff members" who are now being sent out as surrogates disguised as objective observers of the campaign.
Do you think it is a coincidence that this particular surrogate gave this interview on FOX of all stations? They know that FOX has a high Republican viewership and the Obama camp thinks they can exploit this via covert sexism and reach some of the family values voters.

Well, well, well - look who Howard Gutman is - defense attorney for Bill Ayers' Weather Underground killers, springing domestic terrorist Susan Rosenberg from prison back in 2001.
So, who is Howard Gutman, Obama's pointman on perfect parenthood? Mastermind of the "proper attack" on Gov. Sarah Palin?
Possibly one of the biggest, bloodiest scalps McCain could tack to the wall:
Official member of Barack Obama's campaign. You know, one of those folks eligible for something Obama calls "firing" should they attack a candidate's family --- properly or otherwise.
Only one of 35 bundlers to raise over $500,000 for Obama, on par with Hollywood moguls Daivd Geffen and Jeffrey Katzenberg
Not only a registered lobbyist, but Lobbyist of the Year (2006)
Not only Lobbyist of the Year, but he played a lobbyist (himself) on HBO's K Street
Did I mention he likes to lobby?
And that Obama does not?
“I am in this race to tell the corporate lobbyists that their days of setting the agenda in Washington are over. I have done more than any other candidate in this race to take on lobbyists — and won. They have not funded my campaign, they will not run my White House, and they will not drown out the voices of the American people when I am president.”
— Barack Obama, Speech in Des Moines, IA, November 10, 2007
And last but not least, defense attorney for Bill Ayers' Weather Underground killers, springing domestic terrorist Susan Rosenberg from prison.
Like I said before, he can give Obama the finger over his "off limits" Palin family smear because Howard Gutman OWNS Barack Obama.

I guess we still live in the dark ages and GOD FORBID if a woman has a career and the dad stays at home to take care of the family. Gov. Palin is lucky to have such a caring and supportive husband.
What about the millions of families that both parents have to work?
What about the families that are single parent homes?
Am I a bad mom because I go to work to put food on my families table? Am I a bad mom because I work to improve the lives of the sick?
Should I be worried now that the Department of Human Services are going to come knocking on my door to take my kids away because I have a career?
I think these type of comments from Obama's campaign are going to come back to haunt them!

Obama is way too much......
Michelle was a lawyer at least until 2001. I don't believe she has ever stopped working, but has been steadily working at a career. She makes around $300,000. Don't think she was a stay-at-home Mom, ever!
So, who was taking care of Malia and Sasha, Michelle and Obama's children? We know it wasn't Obama.
So, he is trying to go after the male voters, but it's been about 20 years at least that men know they cannot support their families on their paycheck alone. Women have been working way too long for this stupid rhetoric of Obamas.
Both parents have had to work in order to support their families and have a home, etc. for a very long time.
Where has Obama been living? Did he forget about Michelle and her career?
Every argument that Obama and his staff come up with is totally useless!!!

Left a comment...
So Gutman was a lawyer for the Ayers gang. Quite interesting...
I should think Obama would want to keep this man in the background. For Gutman to draw attention to himself with sexist remarks is ridiculous.

I cannot believe this! I am outraged! I am a stay-at-home mom (right now), but I believe that every woman has the right to make these personal decisions without being criticized!!! It is Gov. Palin's decision alone, and if a man can have a career AND a family, then SO CAN A WOMAN!!!!!!!!!!
When will this stop?
