MSNBC > Not Fair and Biased. Audio of the interview at the link.
Today on our NARN show, Mitch Berg and I interviewed Doug, a volunteer driver who worked for the Republican National Convention Committee in St. Paul. His customers included the Washington Post, MS-NBC, and some of the McCain campaign. According to Doug, this allowed him to peer behind the scenes in both media and politics, and he saw some very interesting things:
* According to Doug, MS-NBC apparently took no chances on questions from the crowd. Rather than get caught with a question that might make Republicans look good, their producer pre-screened questioners, and Chris Matthews pretended it was random.
* Republicans were good tippers. MS-NBC stiffed the drivers.
* Media people talked in the cars about how effective the Republican convention turned out to be, while publicly saying something else entirely.
Compare this to MS-NBC’s promotion of their coverage before it started:
“MSNBC is dedicated to bringing its viewers the most comprehensive coverage of the Republican National Convention,” said executive producer Tammy Haddad. “We are building upon our successful DNC coverage by giving people a chance to walk up and give their opinions of events as they are happening.”
As long as those opinions send a tingle through Matthews’ leg, that is.

Not surprised. They've been in the tank for Obama since the begining. MSNBC has been the WORST!! They've abandoned any pretense of fairness. I'd be surprised if they showed the RNC speeches whole and didn't comment throughout like they it was Rocky Horror!
No surprises. At all.
CNN & MSNBC are simply extensions - albeit massive extensions - of the Obama campaign.

I agree, they are bad. Although I don't watch CNN any more either.

And we the public, those who get their news from sources other than the networks, are left shaking our heads. Not just at the disgust of the bias, but because there's little we can do about it on a grand scale.

CNN is still following the philosophy set by its founder TED TUNER,and we all know what a radical left nutcase he is.

What also speaks volumes is the Republican tips vs the MSM tips. They really are uncharitable b*stards.

There has NEVER been any fairness, from the time the TV was invented it's just as liberal then as it is now.
Many of you just noticed because you saw the machine attack YOUR candidate.

I have been wondering about this. I kind of agree. But I'm at least as upset this year than I was back in 2000 and 2004 over what I think were questionable vote totals in the presidential election.
On the conservative side, I really don't think they played any favorites BEFORE the republican nominee was elected. If anything, Romney would have been the favorite because he was spending a LOT of money on advertising. John McCain was at 1% approval back in October of 07 yet he was "allowed" to compete without any undue influence from Fox. I doubt Fox considered McCain their number one pick.
Whereas with MSNBC, CNN, Time, Newsweek, and Huffington Post, they became "the decider" as to who would be the democratic nominee. I am not certain how often this has happened in the past. I recall in 2000 that John McCain got blindsided with lying ads by the Bush Administration in South Carolina, but that wasn't really the media doing it, was the Bush people doing it.
It is important to realize that once both political sides pick their candidate, the news channels may favor either a conservative or liberal point of view, but when the news channels actually dictate who is going to be either parties nominee, that is when alarm bells should go off.
This year, those alarm bells are ringing so loudly I'm still up at 3am.

On the contrary, there is everything we can do. And on a grand scale. We just can't do it with a splash.
We do it by speaking the truth. We do it one-on-one, for the most part. Slowly, momentum builds, and we get noticed. Persecution ensues. People are ridiculed, then lose their jobs, then lose their property, their health and finally their lives. And then, Bozo's empire falls.
Sorry if it sounds melodramatic. That's just the way these things go.

The biggest reason a network can continue to consistently lie - most of the public doesn't take the time to really prepare to vote.
Whether they are too busy, other priorities, whatever.
So even when a group like MSNBC gets caught, or when it becomes painfully obvious they are biased, most of the voters don't get the message. Or don't even understand the message.
The election process would work better for all of us, if members of both parties & independents, were more aggressive at talking, analyzing and sharing information.
The internet and forums like this have offered a better way forward. I hope the dialog grows and grows.
