I hadn't read a Bible passage or did any target practice in years before BHO made this assinine remark. Now I'M reading the Bible again and taking target practice on the weekends with my kids. We also thought about it and joined the NRA after he made this remark.
Way to go Barack Obama!

Michael W. Umm.... Okay, this may sound over-cautious but I"m concerned about the photo of the rifle range target practice you put up. I think it could be used quite easily against PUMA by the Media and Obama. They can purposely misconstrue it to mean something else entirely. And as a PUMA I've already been called a "racist" and every misogynistic name out there--I don't want them adding assassin onto it.

Diane, you are right in your thinking. We must be careful of how we title our threads and what kind of pics we post. You never know who is watching us and that could be fodder for some twisted bot.We know what he means, but someone else could certainly twist that all around.

Isn't it sad that we sensible, sane people have to tip toe around the twisted, troublemaker follower's.

My 9 year old son made that target after hearing BHO's comments. He wanted to know what was wrong with guns and Bibles and religion. I couldn't really think of what to tell him was wrong with any of it. So I got out a Bible and told him what I knew about it. Then I got out a rifle and taught him about that too. I told him it was a tool like any other and it's use depended on who was using it and how and why.
After a few weeks I taught him the basics of responsible gun handeling and under my supervision I taught him the basics of marksmanship. Within a week he was doing really well.
If someone out there is afraid of a 9 year old boy that lives on a farm with a 1960s Sears and Roebuck single shot .22 rifle that has taken an interest in reading the Bible (and Thomas Paine) I feel sorry for them.
Here in rural KY the newspapers are full of articles about teens and guns. Not drive by shootings or gang related violence but young kids winning trap and skeet contests or harvesting thier first turkey or deer.
I doubt my son will grow up to be an assassin or a soldier ( he wants to be a physicians assistant or a pharmacist), but if the powers that be here ask, I'll delete the photo and the related posts. Maybe I should have posted a photo of his first targets that were more reminicent of Dick Cheney's prowess?
He's a smart kid and wanted to know about the 2nd Amendment and The Bill Of Rights. What was I supposed to tell him? That The Consitution is just some old out dated ideas written by some ignorant guys 200 years ago?

Hey that's unfair. You can't judge a guy just because he was (?) is associated with a radical racist church for over twenty years or is good friends with guys like Ayers or Rezko.
"You're known by the company you keep" is just an old wives tale isn't it?
Everyone falls asleep sometimes in church, maybe BHO just dozed off during the G -D America portions of those sermons?
Maybe downsizing the military and missle programs is a good idea. Telling the entire world your plan probably isn't.

Join the NRA! You get little goodies like a hat and a sticker and a pin and monthly magazine. But more importantly you get lobby support for your right to legally keep and own firearms.
Criminals will always have guns. Join the NRA or get a sign that says " we don't have any guns in this house. so just come on in!"

He needs to do more than that with how big of a drop he has had in the polls. He needs to start reminding people much earlier- many of them will not care anymore by then because they are convinced Obama can save the economy.

You can legally purchase a semi-auto only AR-15 which looks exactly the same although it is not automatic. Legal in virtually all "free states". Not sure about CA specific laws.
I practice for military qual on a civilian range with an AR-15. They literally are identical except M-16/M-4 has 3 option selector lever (safe, semi, burst) and AR-15 only has 2 (safe, semi).

Or you can pay the $200 ATF tax and own a genuine M-16 and set it on Rock & Roll if that's what floats your boat.

Charlie I got battle fatigue myself. I'll be glad when it's all over. Will it ever be over? It would appear we are on the verge of a world wide depression.
So what is really important in life? I mean truely important? For me it's food and shelter. Stuff like television and automobiles and maybe even the internet is just a luxury.

How could anyone hurt a poor fish???
j/k
I like to eat fish a lot, just haven't taken the time to go in years.
I think in the future skills like fishing and hunting and gardening could be a whole lot more valuable than a Masters in Business Administration.
Ya, BHO I'M a bitter old hick clinging to my fishin' pole and my Bible. Come try and take ether one and I'll snag you with a #4 treble hook and give you a tug on some 10 pound test line... .

I'M the same way about power tools. I'M loathe to run my chain saw and I won't allow a circular saw in my home, even if it's unplugged and the blade stored seperately.
Seriously, I was never taught much about thier use and the shop teacher at my high school had three fingers.
I suggest you invest in a quality bottle of Champagne and get it chilled up and open it for BHO's concession speech. That's my plan.
I use a cloth napkin over the cork after carefully unwrapping the wire. Then gently twist the cork off the bottle while keeping a firm hold on the cork thru the cloth napkin.
If the unthinkable happens I'M going to lay the Champagne away and throw the meanest bitterest Bourbon Whiskey drunk imaginable. That's my plan, and I'M sticking to it.

Hunting isn't very plesant. But it is a skill that could save your life.....
Being a lifelong hunter and the son of a hunter it really is a pleasant thing. I was always taught not to put the emphasis on the kill but of the pleasure of being alone in the woods and the fun and art of the stalk.
When I'M fortunate enough to actually harvest an animal, I thank G-d and then treat the animal with respect. I try to not waste any of it. People that don't hunt just think you walk out and shoot something. They don't realize that game are very wary and have much superior hearing, vision and sense of smell than humans and can run at high speed.
More often than not, I don't get anything but some exercise.
I'M glad to hear from you, I think I'M going to spend a little more time fishing now, another skill that could save your life.
