Just sent my email to Senators Clinton and Schumer.

While I think criminal prosecution would be extreme, I do think that the Senate should vote to censure Obama.

I sent the e-mails but I do not expect the Democratic controlled Congress to act on this nor do I expect the MSM to cover it. What we need to do is forward this information to all the military families around the country and abroad to force the subject out in the open. We should also send it to the Vets for Freedom organization and the troops in Iraq that will be receiving absentee ballots shortly.

Done. Generic e-mail to 2 Democrats and a Republican in California. :/

I don't think Congress will even touch it unless the media wakes up (unlikely). The best hope is for Fox News to start repeating the story ad nauseum for so long that the other channels actually have to touch the story.

Pelosi is guilty of the same thing. In 2007 when she went to "talk" with Assad of Syria in defiance of President Bush's wishes. He refused talks with Syria while they held such strong terrorist ties. Pelosi showing up was the same undermining. Her way of telling Assad that she thought Bush was wrong for not talking to him.

Right or wrong (and I think it is absolutely right to deny talks with known terrorist supporters), the POTUS deserves a certain degree of respect and has the reasonable expectation under the Constitution that his wishes be followed in matters of diplomacy.

I feel what Obama did is unconscionable as an American citizen, but unforgivable as an elected representative of this country.

It's really got nothing to do with respect for the President. The problem is that negotiating with foreign countries is a highly complex undertaking, especially when we're talking about countries like Syria, which are state sponsors of terrorism, or Iraq, where a low-level shooting war has been in progress for over 5 years now.

The US will put pressure on one side here, throw some carrots there, back off, move in ... this is a delicate dance. It doesn't help at all when free lancers are out there telling people they don't need to negotiate with this President because they'll get a better deal if they just stall until after the election.

Plus, even the idea of a "loyal opposition" is something that dictators simply can't understand. If some Syrian flunky was out contradicting Assad, we all know what would happen to him, and it wouldn't be an email campaign.

Sen. Clinton's office sent out a response to my email calling for an investigation into Logan Act violations by Obama. Did anyone else receive an email in response?

Dear XXX XXXXXX:

Thank you for writing about possible violations of the Logan Act. The thoughts and concerns of my New York constituents are very important to me. I thank you for taking the time to share them with me. Please know that as I participate in discussions on the issues before the United States Senate, your thoughts and the opinions of all who write are given careful consideration.

Thank you again for taking the time to write. Please check my website http://clinton.senate.gov for updates on the issues being considered by the Senate.

Sincerely,

Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton
