Well, you're right Ferraro. We're not coming back and the lousy Democratic Party deserves whatever it gets. I can't stand the sight of a single Democrat at this point and I'll be damned if I vote for a single one either.

They cut her off too - when she was just about to talk about how she was interviewed when she was the VP candidate and they treated her differently because she was a woman.

I just had two men at another message board in Massachusetts comment to me:

"Oh, you are one of them...those PUMA's."

I said I want to be, but the Obamanuts says I cannot be one because I am a Republican. So I just give the PUMA's AND McCain my money.

Of course they want her to shut up. She speaks of a reality they do not want to see. However, shutting her up will not change that reality.

Colmes: "Is it cynical to believe that women are going to be peeled away from having supported Hillary Clinton, upset that she's not on the ticket, and thus for Republican, for McCain?"

Geraldine: "I think the PUMA people, the people who were the original ones who said you know we're there, our party has let Hillary down, they really resent the way that Hillary was treated by the press and by the Obama campaign. Those are the people who will never come back. And, by the party in particular, who say will 'I don't care about anything the thing I care about how are women treated on this level and you didn't treat women right' those people will, and I have heard from a lot of them, those people will vote for McCain, if they can't vote for McCain, they'll write-in Hillary's name, if they can't write in Hillary's name, what they'll do is they'll just stay off the line."

I agree, that was an absurd thing to say.

If Michelle Obama is considered gorgeous then Sarah Palin is the Goddess of Beauty herself! .... TRUE beauty ... inside and out!

Btw, has anyone estimated how many PUMAs there actually are out there?

She got that exactly right. We will have a better idea of our effect on November 4. I think they will be polling for us in the exits because that is going to be the number one question on everyone's mind that night (well other than who wins McCain or Obama) - how many Hillary supporters and Pumas voted for McCain Palin?

I won't vote for another Dem either. I wrote the Dem candidate in my state, who endorsed Obama early on. Told him that as much as I hated the idea of voting for the Repub candidate, it was preferrable to voting for someone who could not tell that HRC was so much more qualified than BO. I also sent the Repub candidate a donation, along with a letter that I would be voting for him because as a PUMA, I couldn't vote for anyone who endorsed Obama. I'll bet the aides in his office fell off their chairs when they opened that letter. I'm usually the one writing to criticize him for supporting all of Bush's crazy ideas.

Wait... never going back?

I thought y'all were going to return to the Dem party after BHO's trouncing and take it back with a vengeance. You're gonna get rid of Dean, Brazille etc, right? Luckily you have the Clintons with which to rebuild the foundation. C'mon people, we need two strong parties. I would love to think that your talent would be added to our side for good but for the tangible good of the whole we need that balancing bilateral symmetry.

Let's continue to work together by opposing each other.

Excellent Point. If BHO loses, I don't think we'll have much trouble taking back our party. If the election goes the other way, I see little chance of anything good coming from the Dems. Honestly, the fact that so many of them either were bullied into throwing out the principles we've worked for all these years, out the Obama window -or - that they were just plain bamboozled into believing in his crap - is solid proof that the party that I was so proud of does not exist anymore.

Well I try to never say never because I usually eat my words. I will say however that I will never again be the blind Democrat I was for so many years. I refuse to be led where I know better than to follow. If Hillary should run, I will vote for her. If not, then I will vote for whomever I think will do the best job, no matter which party they represent.

After seeing all the sexism in the democratic party including Obama's speech saying equal pay for equal work for women when he pays his own staff women 30% less too, I will never again vote for any male candidate who will not support the female candidate.

I'm from NJ so that means I will be voting for McCain and for Dick Zimmer against Lautenberg who never supported Hillary. I wrote to Lautenberg early on several times and ultimately got a reply saying he hasn't endorsed. Then I find out he accepted campaing money from Obama.

I always liked Geraldine but I must say I am sick of these people coming out in support of obama. I guess I could never be a politician because I would just stay off the air until after the election.

I also plan on voting Republican right down the line. I am not happy with my reps here in NY, they were for Hillary but didn't do much to support her when she was being attacked. I've had it with the Democratic party. In the future I'll vote for the person and issues not the party.

What constitutes the current Dem party and the DNC needs to be destroyed if it is to ever return as a party with any kind of credibilty.

Spagpusher
09-20-2008, 10:25 AM
I left the Dem party years ago because it went hard left and I am just more centered than that .... it was no longer a party I felt comfortable in. I really thought Hillary would be the turning point for me this time around - that she could bring me home. And yet, I see that not only did this not happen, but that my old Dem party is worse than it was when I left them years ago.

The extremes have taken over - and until they clean them out of there and get back to the basics of the party - I will never return and will vote against them at every chance. The only Dem getting my vote this year is our local run for Sheriff. Outside of that - it's all R's for me.

Sometimes you just have to accept the fact that things have changed all around you and that you no longer fit in. The question you have to ask yourself is do you really want to change yourself that much in order to fit in ... or would you be better off finding a place that better suits your needs and desires? The answer to me was simple: I wanted to be true to myself.

For some of us, PUMA began years ago. It's taken the foul treatment of Hillary for the rest of the gang to catch up. This party will never be united again in it's orgional state until it returns to it's orgional state.

Right now, McCain serves the PUMA's cause the best. Simply, it's a vote against Obama and the DNC. We may not agree with him, but he is the means to the end.

Personally, I was so disgusted over what happened that I changed my party affiliation to Libertarian, so this is one PUMA member that the Democrats lost for good.

If have HAD to return to get the job done I would be a stealth Democrat - working from the inside to destroy it so it could be rebuilt. But at the moment I am too ashamed of the Democratic Party to ever be a member of it again.

I too am ashamed to have my name registered with this *democratic* party.

The democrats seem to believe that I support bo. I keep mailing back their "send me money" envelopes, with a note saying McCain/Palin, back, and I
am hoping that if bo loses, there will be a big shakedown ridding the party of these crooks. If they don't return the party to the original values, I will change my registration after the GE.

I am not one of these "left socialists"; I am a moderate, and I was so glad the republicans are running a moderate. :)

I can not say whether I will EVER return to the Dem party. I have lost faith in it. I have nothing in common with the party as it stands right now. It has changed too much and I too do not fit in. And I too must be true to myself as spagpusher said in their post. I do not TRUST the dem party so I stay Independent untill I see the house has been cleaned. At this time, I feel suckerpunched by my party.

Why do I get the distinct feeling that when others talk of PUMA's it's always sort of assumed the PUMA's are women. There are PUMA men too, I'm sure and the 18 million votes were not all from women.

If you look at some of the anti PUMA arguments they are pretty much sexist too. BO's comment I am confident I will get her votes if I'm the nominee. It's not clear she would get the votes I got if she were the nominee. if you read between the lines is sexist: Men confident, women not so much.

Yes, if we are successfull in defeating Obama, and beat him to the point of his not ever resurrecting again in politics..that is all well and good. However, if Hillary is to have her chance again in 2012, those individuals who jumped to Obama and went againt her need to be taken out as well, and replaced with moderates. Otherwise, those individuals will again be around when Hillary can try for POTUS in 2012.

But it isn't just because of the way they treated Hillary - bad as it was (very bad). It is also about the way they treated and still are treating Barry Soetoro a/k/a Obama - the ridiculous amount of love and downright avoidance of any of the issues surrounding his current associates and past associates and his.... well, you know the routine.....

I would like to hear somebody just bring that up. If Obama was legit it wouldn't be so bad but he isn't.
