He said Hillary didn't want to be VP. But she would have done it, if BHO asked because it would be her duty.
Talked about voting gender and race.

Well perhaps Bill Clinton should come out with some home truths about Obama... time somebody spoke up who will be listened to - and don't tell me Bill Clinton doesn't have the information. All this is going to backfire on Hillary's 2012 if the truth on obama doesn't come out now. The latest basically saying McCain will cut the seniors pensions in half is downright disgraceful and not true. Time for genuine democrats to speak up on democracy and the American Way... it will be lost otherwise under an obama regime.

Whoppie said everyone is blaming him for the economy today.
He said things were pretty good under him. Talking about banking that I don't understand.
The whole thing started with mortgage crisis. Earlier Whoopie said something very profound. She said if the government wants the American people to bail out these financial institutions--cut everyone's mortgage in half!!
I don't care for Whoopie, but I thought that was a great idea.

He is so damn handsome... whew!
I said he thinks BHO will win. Dem registrations are up and the American people are fed up with the economy.
However, he and Walters said a year ago, Walters asked him who would be the Rep nominee and he said McCain. The gals asked "why" and he said because he is the only one that COULD win. He said some very complementary things about McCain. BC said JM helped him with very difficult problems regarding Viet Nam and McCain was invaluable with advice.
They didn't ask his thoughts about Palin. He said we don't have to say bad things about either candidate. And, he thought each candidate were good for the country.

You're right!
But this world needs justice and even if McCain wins it won't mean justice won!

Obama isn't ready to be President; McCain is ready but I know Hillary would have been the best!
And Bill knows that! Sorry for my words but even if I want McCain wins I am not happy!

Just the fact that Bill had nothing bad to say about McCain and litterally said he would be a good president is good enough for me.
Bill and Hill are both pulling for McCain, and EVERYONE NOW KNOWS IT!
If they weren't Bill would have gone all out on McCain.
Given that Bill is a Democrat and he gave almost equal praise to both candidates, that was pretty much an endorsement of McCain.

I just saw The View. Although Bill Clinton said he thought that Obama would win because of the economic situation we have today. He also said that the debates are important and may change things. He said that either Obama or McCain could be President. As the leading Democrat and former President, I think he said what he had to say about Obama winning. But he also said what he liked about McCain, how Mccain had helped in with Vietnam, and that the debates may have a major impact onthe election. He said that each one of us have to decide who we want as President. He left the door open!
As always he demonstrated confidence, intelligence, judgement, honesty, articulation, and all the abilities that will honor him as one of the best President's in U S history.

It's my feeling that the Clintons don't want Obama to win. This would seriously hurt Hillary's chances in 2012. So, he's being crafty with his support for the Democratic ticket.

Clinton has worked with McCain and probably feels comfortable with him. Bill Clinton doesn't say bad things about people who have helped him in the past. McCain has Bill's respect and Obama has a "D" behind his name He is right. Whoever does well in the debates is going to win the presidency. A good portion of the electorate is "willing to change their mind" So the debates are going to be the decider.

Watched it. President Clinton was very careful in his choice of words and not once did I hear anything to imply he wanted Obama to win. He probably thinks it's his "duty" to campaign for him.
Has there ever been anyone with more charisma than Bill Clinton?

I am so sick of that tired line . I think bo is a socialist and I do not agree with a thing he says. My being a democrat does not automatically mean I agree with their selected candidate. My best interest is voting for McCain and I am sick of the bo people pushing their agenda. I do not agree with them.

I didn't watch the View but I saw a clip on Fox. The View asked Bill if Palin was experienced. Fox said that Bill got around answering the question. I heard him answer it loud and clear!!!
View: Is Palin experienced enough to be VP?
Clinton: When I ran for President I didn't have international experience. My area was economy....
If that wasn't an endorsement for Palin and her foreign policy experience (or lack of it) then I don't know what is!!!!

I think we should all email Elizabeth and thank her for being objective and decent. Remember she backed Hillary against Obama during the primaries when all of them were in the tank for Obama. Elizabeth is a Republican but she has an open mind and is intelligent enough to see the differences and is probably horrified at the latest SNL etc.
Isn't that kind of thing illegal anyway...? Can't they be sued for defamation of character? Wonder how Todd Palin is going to react - he is tough and I don't think he will sit back - though I doubt he watches SNL.

The biggest tell all was this statement:
#1
4:00 "I would not have been in THIS race if Hillary had not run."
--------I read: whatever he is doing is obligatory.
8:29 - He also brought up X-candidate instead of Y.
#3
2:15 - Really likes and admires McCain. Americans will admire McCain bec he has given something in life that the rest of us cannot match.

Just listening to him on that couch with those self-important women reminded me how smart, gracious, and connected to REAL AMERICANS the Clintons are...
He never gave a raving endorsement of Obama and if anything hinted that Hillary really didn't want to be on that losing ticket! He said wonderful things about McCain...
He rightly addressed the unconscious sexism that exists far-and-wide in our country and how it is unfair to candidates like Hillary and Sarah Palin. He said we have been better about becoming aware of our racial prejudices, but not so much in regard to sexist attitudes. I agreed with everything he said -- except that the Democrats will win in November. (He admitted though that he said that because he is "a loyal Democrat." LOL!)

I absolutely agree. This is the closest he could come to an endorsement without stirring up all sorts of trouble for Hillary. Did you see how hard Joy was pushing to get him to say something good about Obama or bad about the McCain/Palin ticket? I loved it that he wouldn't do either.

Thanks for posting the whole interview, Meggles.
I think President Clinton seemed very low key - except when he spoke about the plans to fix the economy and about his global initiative. He seemed to get really excited talking about those topics.
He seemed to say Obama would win because he is a Dem and not because he was the better candidate. I agree with the other posts that suggest that it was hardly a glowing endorsement. He did comment that people vote for their own reasons.
I really admire President Clinton and know I would admire the second President Clinton just as much.

So Bill just confirmed that HRC was never vetted...
Yes. She was giving statements that she was interested, but Obama was too unable to overcome his arrogance and ego to ask her. That would have been a winning ticket for certain. Still, I'm glad he didn't ask her.

I just watched this. I came home, hit the gym, showered, made myself a yummy salad and poured myself a glass of wine and relaxed in front of the TV. I loved this interview. He didn't really endorse anybody and I don't think he thinks Obama will win.
I know most people find it boring, but I loved hearing him explain the mortgage and economic crisis. I really have been trying to understand it and between him and my dad, I've got it covered. :D But I could listen to Bill explain it for hours.
And he did the tongue in cheek thing. I wish he would stop. It drives me nuts. (Not in a bad way..);)
