View Full Version : Breaking: Obama aids complain first debate does not favor Obama but McCain instead.

Power of Palin

Just heard it on the news. Obama's aids are saying the first debate in Oxford, Mississippi which is only on FOREIGN POLICY will not favor Obama and are lowering expectations of him because McCain should give him a major home court advantage because he is the highest ranking member of the Senate Armed Service Committee and is highly regarded in foreign policy expertise. Will Obamas camp protest bias was at hand if he doesn't live up to expectations with the public and does badly? It will be moderated by PBS's Jim Leher who is pretty tough on the issues.

Shouldn't the future president be able to hold his own ground against highest ranking member of the Senate Arms and Service Committee?

Sounds like the Obama camp is already making excuses. A tactical preemptive move to gain sympathy perhaps.

Just another aspect of the Obama campaign that paints him as a loser and out of his league.

I can't wait to laugh while McCain makes Obama look like a clueless dolt who speaks in overblown avoidances of questions full of "uh"s and then claims it to be "nuance". Obama is a pro at saying a whole lot without saying anything at all.

McCain is great at those short and sweet patriotic sound-bytes and always answers the questions succinctly and strongly.

I hope this debate tips the polls again.

Sounds like they're using McCain's Armed Services Committee as a lame excuse. Obama is also head of a committee that overseas NATO, among other things except, oops, Obama hasn't held a single meeting. I can hear him whining, "Hey, no fair! I've been running for president for 2 years! What do you want from me?"

The thing that wasn't fair was Obama getting away with getting all those goodies from the very people that caused the economic crisis.

McCain already won the first debate hands down (Saddleback), it's no wonder the Obama camp is on edges. These presidential debate can make you or break you:

I suppose Obama thinks all the debates should be written to favor him? I'm sorry but if you want to be the leader of the free world then you better be prepared.

If Obama can't even prepare for this debate then he is not ready to be President.

So did the Obama campaign just admit that Sen. McCain is more qualified when it comes to foreign policy? :o

Maybe they should hold the debate about having domestic terrorists as friends or how not to clean up the area of Chicago you represent. You know it's only fair to have the debate about something Obama is good at too.

THe Presidency is a FOREIGN POLICY JOB.

It is, but Obama has another idea on what foreign policy is. As a "citizen of the world", he sees as it as a chance to have lunch with foreign dignitaries and impressive them with his convoluted philosophies. The world is his Community and he is the Organizer-In-Chief.

I guess at 3am when the phone rings he will whine about it is not fair he has to answer the phone because FP doesn't favor him. Maybe MO will answer. At least she seems to have a "set". She would tell the other person F*** you and not whine.

Not that I am selling the Republicans, but Pallin would not whine about having the topic as the debate. She would actually study and not globe trot around saying " I am the one you have been waiting for".

I THOUGHT I READ THIS SOMEWHERE THAT IT OBAMA THAT DIDN'T WANT THE ECONOMY SESSION HELD 1st, and I thought Economy was supposed to be 1st--he got it moved!

This is all hype and strategy on BHO's part.... To look better by the 3rd debate.

Well it stands to reason that he would want to debate the topic he knows least about, first. He thinks that people will forget how badly he did (and most will) by election time. And most especially if he hits a homer in the next game. His ego probably has him believing that he will be the one doing the floor moping after that first little strike out.

The second debate is a town hall format where questions will
come from the audience. This is the format where McCain usually does
very well.

If BHO blows the first two debates, the third debate won't
matter so much.

B.O. camp is the one who changed it to the F.P. debate. The are just setting it up for friday when he does not do well.

Obama's camp DID fight to have the foreign policy debate first. It was originally supposed to be on the economy. They fought like hell to get it reversed simply because they KNOW he's going to do terribly on the foreign policy issue and they want the general public to forget how badly he does. Let's face it - yes, people are worried about the economy but we won't have an economy to worry about if Obama gets in there and starts spouting off his mouth to and about some of these rogue nations. Our country will be obiliterated. So, Obama certainly doesn't want to go into the general election with it absolutely fresh in people's minds that he doesn't have a clue about foreign policy. He wants the tragedy of that debate far from their minds as he spouts a bunch of shit about the economy and how wonderful he is and that he will fix everything in his first 5 days as president.

I don't think it will really matter what debate is held when. That's the magic of the internet and youtube, etc. Everything he says, everything he does on those nights will be captured on video and will spread like wildfire. McCain's camp will make sure if Obama so much as farts in the wrong direction that the American public knows about it.

Look, you can "bone up" on something all you want but it doesn't substitute for actual "been there, done that" knowledge. And Obama has a penchant for going off on tirades, spouting about stuff he thinks he knows but in the end it's proven he knows nothing. Obama was NOT an ace student in high school or college or law school. He barely got by so it's not like he's a genius who has a photographic memory and will be able to quickly absorb all of this. All they are doing by force feeding him this information is jumbling his brain up.

He will trip himself up - there's no doubt about it. And McCain will be there ready to pounce.

Bottom line is Obama can't debate - that's been proven. And a few days or even a few weeks of intensive prep isn't going to change that. A few old "one, two" punches from McCain will have Obama stuttering all over himself.

I think it was some time last fall or maybe summer he said this.I remember it because it was before my mom had gotten really sick and she was still paying attention to what was going on and rooting for Hill like crazy. She actually called me on the phone, she was utterly stunned when he said this, because he actually said the age he was when he lived in Indonesia.I answered the phone and she was just furious,"You will not believe what that Idiot said now"!!!!
I couldn't believe how angry she was,I had not paid any attention to him at that point,he creeped me out so bad I could not stand to watch him ever.
It was not long after that when my moms meds were upped to an unbelievable amount and she was unable to keep track of anything, let alone politics. It was hard for her because she knew what she was missing. She told me shortly before she died that she was very upset that she may not see Hillary take the Oath Of Office. She was really looking forward to that.:rolleyes::rolleyes:

I'll bet BHO will do an adequate job of trying to hold his own in these debates. McCain is no nonsense and to the point. BHO is a "what can I say to please the people" answer man. It has been an old worn out trait of his. On his supporters, it works, but for those on a fence and with intelligence find it offensive. McCain supporters know better.

Always remember, BHO is a coward. This whole campaign and media has tried to hide this important aspect of him--he cannot handle confrontation. McCain and his campaign are not fools.

i think the camp is building mccain up as this major foreign policy megapower so that when obama actually can answer a question because he was literally spoon fed the answer somehow, the camp can say, see, he was adequate and considering he is not the super power mccain is, that is quite good.

they are really pathetic, and they have missed one important point. what they are building mccain up to be is exactly what mccain is, a foreign policy megapower. and you cannot learn foreign policy from books. mccain is going to mop up with him. obama will go down bigtime, and then there will be no more debates. lol there's a pattern here. :D
