It is only the biggest financial crisis in 100 years....
I dont think he has anything much to add, except what he can do by phone.
McCain does. So, McCain steps up to the plate and becomes the bipartisan leader.
This is why Pres.Bush acknowledged McCain when he mentioned Bipartisanship and he did not turn his head towards Obama.

I was watching Obama on TV and he holds his head funny so that he looks like it's leaning sideways. I find it disconcerting. Does anyone else see this or have I just gotten to where I dislike him so much that I even think his head angle is strange.......

well--as an empty suit probably he doesn't contribute much by being there. And heaven knows he needs his practice time for the debate.
On the other hand--McCain is desperately needed--there will be no bill passed without him.
Who looks like a senior senator--ready to take over the Presidency?
and how much is Obama hurting himself by admitting that his input isn't really that important.

That's called ego displacement syndrome.
When the ego kicks in, normal people are able to
diffuse the head bulging but folks with this problem
inflate so fast they are unable to adjust. Sometimes
one side of the brain inflates more than the other and
it causes this leaning effect until equalibrium is formed.
I don't know who is more dangerous - he or his army of worshipping fools.

On one side Obama is saying this is biggest crisis after Great depression and on other hand he is saying "Call me when you need me".
On other hand these same liberals made fun of Bush reading 6th grade books to kid.
Country don't need Obama, no leadership at all.

I also find it funny that Obama did not want to play politics with this...but who is the one on TV tonight playing politics...Obama and his henchmen, especially Chris Dodd, who is trying to slam McCain.
Let people know who really is playing politics with this issue..I don't see McCain on TV bashing Obama.

Good to know that he'll just phone it in as Pres. Or, you know, e-mail it in, text it in, or appear via satellite. Maybe he can just move to the 57th state and run the country from there.

Obama doesn't have to work on the problem.. Hillary is there so he knows that she will take care of things as well as other smart folks.
The Republicans are not on board of what to do if anything. Thus McCain is actually needed more from that standpoint than Obama.
However, it doesn't matter who gets elected..the next president will be stuck with whatever they decide now and whatever good or bad comes from it.
This bailout may not even work. They know what will happen if they do nothing. It isn't clear what will happen if they do something.

I'm hearing frustration that the Dems. can't do what they want.

Donald, you've made a good point. BHO is a senator first, not a presidential candidate. He should be there representing the people and the needs of this country. Not complaining about some damn debate.
But, BHO is suppose to be studding up on foreign policy matters, instead he's stuck at the WH. No wonder he's so pissed. He needs his time to study!!!
Very good point.

Obviously, he can't handle several things at once. He's taking 3 days to practice for the debate. Aside from his appearance in DC, what else has he done? If you respond by phone, no one can see the teleprompter or your advisor whispering the answers in your ear. BTW, if the debate goes forward, let's check BO's ears for earbuds.

I recently asked our 9yr old if she'd like to be President of the United States one day. She said no. According to her the President never does anything and she's afraid she'd be bored. Her understanding of the role of the President is really the same as Obama's understanding of what the job is all about.
Obama believes that the President is basically a figurehead who is surrounded by people much smarter then he is who do all the work for him. That's why Obama doesn't feel the need to be in Washington. He forgets that he's a Senator and we're paying him to work this crap out! It's his job!
His most excellent adventure in Europe back in July shed some light on Obama's idea of what his presidency would be like. He's going to be sure to refresh himself with plenty of vacations and he'll set aside large blocks of time each day just to think without interruption. A mic picked up Obama's conversation with Tory Leader David Cameron:
July 26, 2008 8:40 AM
At British Parliament today, Sen. Barack Obama, D-Illinois, met with Tory Leader David Cameron.
Seemingly unaware of an enormous fuzzy boom mike held by ABC News' Eric Kerchner, the two chatted casually -- and privately.
"You should be on the beach," Cameron told Obama. "You need a break. Well, you need to be able to keep your head together."
"You've got to refresh yourself," agreed Obama.
"Do you have a break at all?" asked Cameron.
"I have not," said Obama. "I am going to take a week in August. But I agree with you that somebody, somebody who had worked in the White House who -- not Clinton himself, but somebody who had been close to the process -- said that, should we be successful, that actually the most important thing you need to do is to have big chunks of time during the day when all you're doing is thinking. And the biggest mistake that a lot of these folks make is just feeling as if you have to be -- "
"These guys just chalk your diary up," said Cameron, referring to a packed schedule.
"Right," Obama said. "In 15 minute increments …"
"We call it the dentist's waiting room," Cameron said. "You have to scrap that because you've got to have time."
"And, well, and you start making mistakes," Obama said, "or you lose the big picture. Or you lose a sense of, I think you lose a feel-- "
"Your feeling," interrupted Cameron. "And that is exactly what politics is all about. The judgment you bring to make decisions."
"That's exactly right," Obama said. "And the truth is that we've got a bunch of smart people, I think, who know ten times more than we do about the specifics of the topics. And so if what you're trying to do is micromanage and solve everything then you end up being a dilettante but you have to have enough knowledge to make good judgments about the choices that are presented to you."
