If Hillary does not get the nomination i am changing my party registration to independant! Just wondered if any of you will do the same?

I certainly won't consider myself a Democrat anymore.

I will switch to Independent, especially if MI and FL are disinfranchised. It's funny this poll came up because I'd been thinking about how not only will I vote for McCain but I'm so disgusted, I plan on leaving the party shortly after the convention if Obama comes out the nominee.

So I can vote out every sorry SOB in this Party! NC usually has closed Primaries, so I intend to vote out every incumbent I can.

I shall not consider myself a Democrat though.

I'm not registered to a party (it's not required in Washington State). But, I will follow Hillary wherever she goes. The Democratic Party is the right one....even though they are classified left. They are generally what is better for the people of the nation, rather than problem creators.

I registered as an Independant when I was first old enough in 2004.
I live in PA and switched to Democrat to be able to vote.

My intention is to switch back to an Independant regardless.

I'm already an independent. I have policies in which I disagree with Hillary, but I can't deny the FACT that she is best suited to run this country. I can't support anyone else.

I am never going to look at politics the same after this election. If Hillary is not elected I will most likely become an Independent. Lou Dobbs will be the first I will let know.

I left the Democratic Party in 2004 when they chose Kerry. So I don't have to leave. And I think if you do feel the party represents you in most ways maybe you don't have to leave.

The question is, will you tow the party line come november and vote for Obama if he gets the nomination?

I'm writing in Hillary Clinton on my ballot come november, whether she's the nominee or not.

SunnyInCal

That's just it. Those in PA supporting Hillary, don't vote for Senator Casey next time.

This is the reality. Are we ready to fight for our country or are we going to keep just accepting what these parties give us and keep choosing the lesser of two evils?

I will NEVER vote for someone I think will make be REGRET I voted Democratic! The Republicans will skin bo alive and will expose who he really is. bo is an academy award celebrity candidate. He is being groomed to win an oscar...the White House. Ugh..

There's no reason not to switch. I'm a registered independent and it hasn't stopped me from supporting Hillary. But I will say if the Dems hadn't allowed indies to vote Dem in the primary, I would not have been able to vote for Hillary. That could be a problem, depending on the state.

You have to be registered Dem to vote here in PA.

I was not allowed to vote in the dem primary in calif because I'm in the green party. So I am writing in Hillary Clinton on my general election ballot. I will vote for her. Since they didn't let me do it in the primary, I will do it in the general.

I think that in 2012 the Independant party will be large enough to be an actual entity and will not be as hard to be part of the process like it is now. Remember this thread when this comes to happen in 2012!

I am an independant that, due to my states concept of forcing us to declare a party affiliation, have become a Democrat this season. Depending on how this nomination goes I may stay a Democrat....well at least for the 4 years Hillary is president.

I'm already an independent leaning democrat but I will not vote for Obama under any circumstances.

I agree with McCain on more than I disagree with him and I think he may be a closet pro choice person which is a pretty big issue for me. But at this point not a make or break one.

PA_Voter
03-29-2008, 04:34 AM
I really consider myself an Independent but since PA has a Closed Primary System, Independents are very limited and I feel like I'd be throwing my vote away in the Primary. I back Senator Clinton whole-heartedly but I will not put my vote into the hands of Senator Obama. Although he's a great speaker with a teleprompter, when you read between the lines--the ones that didn't come from Senator Clinton in the first place, it's amazing that people don't get what he's really saying. I don't trust him for 5 minutes, which is about the amount of time it takes him to rephrase his position depending upon who his audience is. He's a very scary candidate and I have more faith in McCain leading our country than I do in Obama. I still feel that something's going to drop on Obama as the Rezko trial continues. I think Obama will eventually be linked to politics "The Chicago Way", more will be disclosured on Rev. Wright, he'll be linked to Mr. Auchi and a variety of middle-eastern characters. No, No, No... Can't vote for Obama.... Can't do it now and won't do it in November!

The Democratic Party is ruining themselves and the DNC might get a wake-up call if people stop donating directly to the DNC!

NO WAY!!! Not Now!!!!

Several letters asking for DNC donations have come my way. I swear I get an email every other day from Howard Dean. UGH! Anyway, my reaction has been EVERYTIME.........
MR. Dean, I will not donate to the DNC until you decide that we as democrats deserve a fair election. Which means you need to back off HRC and the idea that she should quit. You and the DNC need to stop trying to shove Mr. "O" down our Democratic throats. I'm sorry but there are more of us out here that are not swallowing it. And believe it or not we are not blind nor stupid either.
Until HRC becomes the Democratic nominee I will continue to send all my donations HRC's way and not to the DNC. Only then will I donate to the DNC and if she is not the nominee then you will have no reason to ask for MY help as I will re-registering as an INDEPENDANT!!!

STANDING STRONG IN MY CONVICTION TO VOTE FOR THE BEST CANDIDATE

I don't have to be registered either way, but I have always voted Democratic. But know this: I will NEVER support Obama, and after what the Democratic party and the MSM has done to Hillary, I will never refer to myself as a democrat again.

I've learned a lot about politics throughout this primary season. And I don't like what I've learned.

My vote in the general election, is committed to Hillary Clinton. Her name will be on MY ballot!

this is MY party and dammit I'm not gonna let the Obamatrons drive me OUT of my party but if I smell much more RAT guts coming from the likes of Dean and Pelosi I surely will consider changing BACK to Indie. I just came BACK to D in 2000. sigh.

I just can't see all of Hillary's endorsers just rolling over and giving it up to BO with all this crap coming out lately. He's already TOAST in the GE. Only FOOLS can't see that by now!

I have been voting 35 years and I have never voted Republican. I have been a strong supporter of the Democrats, even when things weren't so good. But no more, not after the way Hillary has been treated.
I believe that all of us who are still Democrats, if BO gets the nomination, need to take one day and go register Independent. We need to notify the press that we are all doing this. We need the Democrats to know that we just don't go along to get along. We need them to know that the Hillary supporters will not be invisible in November and that we will make our presence heard in the voting booth.

I think we should just keep truckin" and be patient.

Our expectations are different today. I don't know why. No one want a convention. They want a coronation. FDR was not selected as the presidential candidate until the 4th ballot at the convention.

I encourage everyone to write to Governor Phil Bredesen of TN. He wants a SD primary after the primaries are over to rush the nomination. He is an uncommitted SD, but sounding more like Dean and Pelosi every day. Hillary Clinton won in Tennessee and I think there would be rioting in the streets in TN if Obama got the nomination. Bredesen needs to be bombarded with mail and support the voters of TN in their choice for Hillary Clinton.

Please see my thread on Write to Governor Bredesen of TN. My letter is posted there.
