View Full Version : What Will (Do) You Tell The Pollsters When They Call

Here is my personal point of view. I have been out here (internet) politically posting, like most of you, for over a year. In that time, I have experienced sexual filth thrown at me, intimidation tactics, and outright threats. I am sure some of you have had that also. I know when I search about Obots reactions to this forum, that Murray is tops on the 'bash list' (Sorry Murray).

Pollsters can be from anywhere, media, independent companies, campaigns, and even Obots who have access to Obamas huge list of registered Democrats (thanks to DNC). I know this because I was a GOTV pollster myself, and no one thoroughly vetted me. I could have been a deranged convict. LOL Seriously, these canvassers are not canvassed!

If the pollster has my phone number, they have my address. It is a simple reverse lookup on my search engines.

I watch the news and look at the Internet blog news everyday. I know that people's cars are getting 'baseball batted', houses are getting vandalized, items are being stolen, and a few people have even been punched all by enraged, 'over the top' Obots.

Because of that, there is no bumper sticker on my car. I do not have a sign in my yard for McCain/Palin. I will not discuss my voting choice with strangers. Call me paranoid, but I am not a strong person and I don't own a gun (and don't want to).

What do you think I am going to say if a 'pollster' calls me to ask me who I will be voting for??? Three guesses. Keep in mind:

I like my home.
I like my car.
I like my kitties.
I think my face looks acceptable and really don't want it rearrangedWelllllllll ?????? Call me paranoid if you like, but I will say:

Of course I am voting for Mr. Obama.:eek:

Any lady, especially seniors who live alone, will most likely answer that way.

My Mom, who is a democrat voting McCain, smartly tells them all that she is voting Obama. Thank God. I love my Mom too. I want to keep her safe.

Expect the polls to be skewed, but whatever you do - Stay Safe this election season!

No calls here yet. Probably say I'm a Hillary Clinton Democrat for McCain and oops, the arugula delivery van is here, gotta go, and hang up.

We have had this discussion here before, but it bears repeating. How many people do you think feel the way lanesharon does??? Seriously? I think more than we would even believe are lying when they answer that call.If I lived in a larger metro area, you bet your ass I would say Obama!!
I can totally understand this train of thought and I suspect there are hundreds of thousands who are doing this!

That response is great because it is giving BO the numbers he wants but in reality you will be voting McCain. I want him to be "shocked" when the actual numbers on November 4th aren't for him!!! Would love to see his face first time he realizes he is not the winner!!!!!!!!! I will definitely turn on CNN to see Anderson Cooper's shock as well. Haven't watched CNN since February 5th - Cooper was shocked when Hillary won CA (my former homestate!) Utter disbelief on his part.

I am sorry but I cannot and will not be afraid to speak. We have already lost this Country if we are afraid. Somethings are worth dying for and speaking how you feel is one of them. I say McCain/Palin and dare them to mess with me. Course I also tell them that I have a gun under my bed and I am itching to kill a crazy obot too. I have a McCain/Palin sign in my window and those campaign people know what will happen to them if they mess with my property again. Some of them still have the bruises from the Primary.

My mom was polled by gallup and then just a couple of weeks ago she was polled by rass. polls

she lied both times and said she is voting for BO

we are immigrants to this country, asians, and after being called racists to our faces by BO supporters (very sad, since we has experienced racism b/c of her thick accent when we intially arrived to this country), she fears for her safety, so she lies, and frankly so would I if I was being polled.

It doesn't matter what you tell people who call, and it isn't any of their business anyway. It's what happens in that voting booth that matters.

Thank You for disclosing this. Racism takes many forms, for many ethnic groups. I remember as a young kid growing up in the 'Irish' neighborhood. We were considered pretty low class and it was tough. Lots of ethnic slurs.

You know, every year in my area the young Hispanic kids march. Last year I really wanted to go. But, a good friend of my warned me that I could get hurt. I used to march in the 60's so I felt I could to it. But, Mom got sick and that was that.

This year, I am moving everything off my calendar and going. We have to support each other. And, I really want to support these kids. They were great, non-violent, but persistent, marchers.

But, we also get to have the freedom to vote our conscience, not someone else's guilt.

They can't call me unless it is on my cell phone. I had the phone and satellite shut off to save costs. (I have two teen-aged kids on one income.)

lanesharon, I agree and do the exact same thing, for the exact same reasons.

People can tell me that I am silly, a coward, ect, but for me, I cannot deal with the abuse, which I experienced back during the primary. I call it being safe.

They won't be following me into the voting booth. This is why we should ignore polls.

I think I read somewhere that this year the undecideds in polls are 2-3 times larger than in other years.

I can't help but think undecided is a code word for PUMA or someone who doesn't want to get threatened.

I never answer the phone unless I recognize the person's caller id, so I've not spoken to any pollsters. I think a lot of McCain supporters are doing (er, that is NOT doing) the same thing.

Glad to see this topic posted. I was thinking it would be interesting to push a national campaign to "Lie to the Pollsters." Probably too late for this election cycle, but it would make things interesting.

My logic would be that the MSM deceives the public on a regular basis, so we should turn the tables on them. Also, the polls have been so wrong in the past that it really wouldn't be all that different. It would be at a minimum, entertaining to watch the pollsters try to figure out who is lying and who is really stating their true intentions.

Almost everyone hates the polls anyway, so why not do what we can to minimze the perceived importance of them? Probably a crazy idea, but thought I'd throw it out there.
