My message to the White bleeding heart liberals

Do not even try to think you know what it is like being black, that you can relate to their historical plight. Don't even try to go there. I am sick and tired of all these white upper middle class people who put on this mantle of blackness and walk around on some personal crusade.

You are not black never were black and never will be black and that singular fact means you will never know even in the slightest what it is like. This notion that you have in your head is nothing but some inner self doubt about your own identity some emptiness that people usually fill with something else. It is a lie and does no one any service.

Many times it is done because for one reason or another they have been ignored or rejected by their own families or associations so they don a persona to try to fit in somewhere else. But all the way in the backs of their minds they have the comfort of knowing that :Hey I'm still white so if I screw up too bad I have that to fall back on" and they use it as a mental insurance policy.

These people usually end up doing more harm than good to those they profess to help, because since they are white they know that they can get away with more outrageous acts than someone of color, and in the end guess who gets the blame? The AA community.

To these people I say GET A LIFE of your own, stop pretending you are something you re not, just to satisfy some selfish emotional need. People who are true supporters of the AA community both Black and white, say that the AA like anyone else can not rely or expect the government or any one person to fix things within the community. That it is up to each individual person to take a stand in their neighborhoods and their homes to bring about change.

True supporters of the AA community say that you like everyone else has to roll up your sleeves and work, to demand better teachers in schools, to volunteer in your communities and work together to make this country better. They never promise to do it for you, they never promise that they even can do it for you. They say you have to do it yourselves but I'll help if you want. The bleeding heart liberals are the first ones who point out your weaknesses, they tell you over and over how bad off you are, how you need their help. They spend much of their time demoralizing you, so when they offer to give you a hand they make it sound like they are heaven sent saviors.

Then they go about screwing the AA community over for their own personal agenda and if lucky they throw a few scraps to the masses, and move on to their next crusade. And if they screw up and leave carnage in their wake, no worry because the white community won't ever throw them out. So long as the AA community lets it's self be lead around by the nose, by bleeding heart liberals of both colors, they will never achieve true change.

They will always fall pray to the pseudo-sympathetic talk of how oppressed they are and how they are in need of help in that fight. Obama is a AA who knows this game very well, he knows what buttons to push to allow the Bleeding heart liberals entry into the AA community. Who better to flim flam the AA community than a slick talking guy, who in reality has no more in common with the average African American than some rich white guy. Obama uses he color in the most despicable way, he is white when amongst whites and Black amongst AA's. which should clue a lot of people in to the fact he is only on one side, his own.

There were only two candidates out there that did not bring race into the picture. That was Hillary Clinton and John McCain. They never used it to defend them selves nor to make a point. Although race was used against them viciously.

John McCain never tried to BS the AA community that he knows what it's like to be in their position, he never claimed that. He knows that it would be a lie. But he does know what would help everyone in this country and is non preducial in his message, because what helps poeple in this country helps all of us and not just one ethnic group or another.
McCain says to all Americans that it is you who will have to change this country for the better, I'll take care of Washington so you don't have to but the rest is pretty much up to us. And that is the way it should be. He'll be there to help, but AA's, Hispanics, Asians, and Whites will have to do the really hard work.

I am however educated and know when unjustice is done to people, and the AA community has had more than it's fair share. But reminding them day in and day out achieves nothing and just builds hatred. And bleeding heart liberals just love to point out the misery of other people. they live for a chance to put you down just to lift you up. My family and I are color blind, I was taught and we taught our kids to judge people on what was inside not by any external influence. We can't give up on self-reliance. We can't cave in and say "it's too hard" and just let the government decide everything for us. Freedom is about being responsible for our own lives. There is so much dignity in hard work. Our grandparents seemed to understand this.

I worry that because we're in economic turmoil (at least the headlines tell us we are) that people will throw up their hands and want to "experiment with socialism."

And the white liberals feel such pride in Obama. They focus on his race, while ignoring his lack of character.

Sad isn't it, but so true, they usually the first ones to say amongst freinds about how the neighborhood is going down. They are the first ones to start up community boards to make sure that things don't get out of hand. Who hire guards for thier gated communities that harrass the poor black carpenter who accidentally got lost and was found driving around the neighborhood.

Yup and they are the very same ones who would never ever imagine of sending thier kids to public schools or ever move to a school district that has more than a few AA kids in it of families of same social standing.

yes White Liberals do not know what it is like to be AA nor do they know what it is like to be poor. It's funny that everyone says that AA's are so oppressed and yes we are but if those liberals want to help with that oppression why do they not challange the police about brutility which is rampant in AA communities. Why don't they challange the school officials who insist that your child is guilty simply because he is dark skinned and male. Why don't they challange the teacher who assumes because your tall 12 year old is a black male then he must be a rapist.

And what the AA community needs to see and think about after these white bleeding heart liberals clear their conscience via this election is this - they will be looking at the AA community for perpetual payback.

Any pretense of most white bleeeding heart liberals voting for BO for any other reason then to satisfy some personal emotional need (such as white guilt) is a big mistake. These votes will not be for "the content of character not the color of the skin", but rather for "color of the skin regardless of the content of character."

And once the day is over, these same white liberals will being signaling for years to the AA community "you owe me". Isn't the AA community tired of this viscious cycle?

As a disabled person, this message echoes to me.

Most everyone is ignorant of their own able privilege. That is fine by me. Just human nature. I accept and try and work with people, don't take ignorance personally, and try to not to be a burden at my job.

The people that truly earn my wrath aren't the "able" people who take it for granted.

There are a large number of people who are endowed so much privilege that they know that they don't have to do anything and they will be OK. Typically wealthy, white, etc. Instead of being grateful, and building on it with a good education and being a productive employer that creates jobs, their guilt is so overwhelming that they cannot accept the gifts of privilege that they have been given us, and try and insert themselves among us as activists.

They pretend to live modestly (in my opinion, 99% of the stress of poverty comes from worrying about how to pay bills, rent, basically survive etc--not worrying that you don't have enough material wealth!), they love to talk trash about their family, their hometown, how they went to Ecuador and taught to third world kids, BLAH BLAH BLAH.

There are a *lot* of people like that. The motivation is so clearly not helping "us". It's their own salvation.

You can always spot them: they try to speak FOR us, instead of speaking TO us.

Oh I agree whole heartedly. For many of these people it is about making them feel better about themselves, wholly selfish reasons. This way they can go back home at night to their $750,000 homes and feel justified in having so much more than the poor wretch's they help.

In certain social circles than many never see it is considered a badge of courage with it's proper bragging rights. These people will sit around at thier country clubs bragging to each other about all the good they have done, no how about another round of margaritas. I've been to such patting on the back sessions so I've seen this with my own eyes.

What is never allowed to escape is that these people allways lend assistance when it is convenient to them, strangely it is never allowed to interfere with their own lives and heaven forbid if it ever spills over into their personal social circles.

These people are a step higher in the social food chain than the people in my first post but the motives are little changed. It is more about justigying their own life styles than anything else. But you should see what happens when some savy inner city organizer or group discover these sort of people and take advantage of that inner insecurity, and are found out.

Then BAM the first thing these bleeding hearts do is run to thier lawyers and to the courts about how they were misled and taken advantage of. How dare they not appreciate all that I have done.

The reasons you stated are precisely why I am very leery of white bleeding heart liberals. I detest their "I feel your pain, you poor unfortunate soul" mindset so much. It's very patronizing. I neither want nor need any pity or charity. All I ask is that the path to my dreams is not roadblocked (in other words, stay out of my way).

The fact that McCain is not making grand promises to AAs and other POCs is a bonus, in my opinion. It shows that he is not a BSer. From what I gather, McCain's message appeals to all Americans, regardless of race.

Such a good point! Why does no one look at Obama's record of helping AAs? He hasn't! Hillary and Bill have been far stronger advocates--and now they're racists too.
