I had the opportunity to travel with my husband for two weeks in Beijing, China in April, 1994 – and again in May, 1995. It was a life-altering experience for me to see the plight of women and children in that country.
I will never forget watching Hillary give her speech to the UN Conference on Women in Beijing in 1995. Watching how she had to fight the State Department and even the President in order to be allowed to go, I was so proud of her – and still am. I have known since the day she gave that speech that, if I ever had the opportunity to vote for Hillary Clinton – for any office, I would do so.

WE need a mover and a shaker, not the good speech maker! She's got more brains then the other two candidates combined!:)

she really cares what happens to this country and around the world. She will do everything she can to make things better. I read an article a few days ago where an Iraqi civilian was being interviewed by a reporter. When asked if he had any thoughts about the USA's election and the candidates he said "America could do worse in electing a women president". That really says a lot. They must have a lot of respect for our Hillary:)

Being president one can make incredible changes in the world. Here in the USA we have a problem with violence against women and children.
Perhaps, if for the first time in our country's history girls and boys, in their classrooms see the photograph of the president and she is female maybe this will change our perceptions of each other and ourselves.
Girls will be able to really aspire to be president because they will see a reflection of themselves in HRC.
Boys will look and see a strong woman, like their mothers and sisters, who they will respect.
The shift in our perception will be tremendous.

Well I hope I don' get blown off the site again by the adm for my remarks in this post. It will such wasted and time consuming writing.
I am a single mom divorced from a man who continually made me feel I was at fault. I am sure at least a few women identify with this. In each and every argument he will not give up until he somehow convinces me I was completely wrong and that I should completely be convinced that he was right and I was wrong apologize if it took all night. It became a pattern. He turns the table and I find myself apologizing and crying. then came his consoling.. Like that's Ok you're still good enough to keep.
I just didn't know what happened to the years when I was a business propriotor, making my own money, and running my own life. My self esteem was gone, gone. I questionned myself if what ever I did was worth anything. I was nothing! I bluffed people making them believe I knew anything all these years. But I tried to hang on to a little self worth.
Stage two Violence. the punishement for hanging to my self worth.
Stage three there is no stage three. That would be Nicole Brown.
She was hurt twice in life and in death!
I am alive today thanks the years of therapy to regain my self esteem. but the therapist who helped me through this was a male. thank god I had the sense to change therapist.
The female conclusion was and to my grave I will never forget her phrase: "Some women trigger the male's violent side."Of course I am not saying that female therapists are bad counselors No! But this one was She was easily manipulated.
I was very lucky to have a professional who knew his job well.
Our country is full of strong and hard working women, full of good guys and full of men and women who love each other and repect each other.
I am a firm believer of marriage therapy. Everything can be surmounted except violence. Because there will not be a stage three.
What brought these feeling back was when I heard Geraldine Ferraro's reactions to accusation she firmly believed were false. She stood her grounds. and I admire her for it and wished I had the tenth of her strengh!
As I was listening to her I had goose bumps. I felt like every women who was wrongly accused. She is in the public eye and cannot show her emotions and neither can Hillary.
SO THESE TEARS ARE FOR YOU LADIES

I too was proud of Geraldine. Unfortunately the media "soundbited" most of what she said.
I'm a nurse and see such huge problems up close every day with our health care system. Hillary by far has the best plan and is most knowledgeable about health care. If we can't get health care straightened out in this country SOON we are in big trouble. There are a million other reasons to vote for Hillary but health care is my priority this year.

;)Hi there, I am so glad I found this forum. I am a 46 y/o physician, married with three children and a mom who means the world to me. I was born in Peru and immigrated to the States at the age of 17. I lost my dad as a child and it has been my mother since all the way. It takes a family and a village to raise a child, but it takes special women with guts, brains, discipline, knowledge, experience to make great things happen. I credit my mother with who I am today. She helped me realize the American Dream and I learned from her that nothing is impossible.
When I hear Hillary talk about "giving every American the opportunity for them to rise to their God giving potential" she is speaking about a message that is very important and familiar to me. We need a President who can fulfill and deliver on this promise of opportunity. Opportunities for better health, better education, better jobs, better environment, better life for us and our children . Of the candidates running for the most important job in our land, I can not think of anyone but Hillary Clinton.

I am a 55 year old professional, I have felt a kinship to Hillary since the early 90s. I have never quite understood the hillary haters. But, I did acknowledged it's existance. I am in a profession where being strong and opinionated is not revered. I have struggled all my professional career to overcome the rest of my profession's adversion to my personality. So, I empathize with what has happened to Hillary and continues to happen to Hillary. This lightening rod phenomena, as some call it, or Hillary's "polarizing" character, is nothing to do with Hillary herself, it is simply a lifetime of peoples rejection of a strong and opinionated woman. I have had the exact same criticism of me. I will tell you that when these same colleagues want professional advice or want to get something done and done well, they call on me. And that my interernet friends, is the essence of Hillary, and why I support Hillary Clinton. In the end when you want something done or fixed, call on the strong and optinionated woman amongst us.

Loyal citizen. Really cares about bringing soldiers back home. She has not used even the programs she has sponsored if it means compromising the security and safe return of soldiers.
Holds herself responsible and accountable for her words, promises and works hard.
Did you know that it was her work in Arkansas (education reform and policy change with grassroots work) that actually was Bill's best accomplishment in office there.. and the stepping stone for Bill?
Did she not know the word hope is magical? She did. That was Bill's mantra... but her's is even more powerful. We have a real messy set of problems.. and she has REAL SOLUTIONS... AND DEMONSTRATED CAPABILITY TO DELIVER.. and she has done that TIME AND TIME AGAIN!!
The country DESPARATELY NEEDS HILLARY!
THINK!!! Ask questions... Dont go by feel good feeling.. Look at the realities of the individual candidates and question every promise.. ask for specifics.
HILLARY HAS ANSWERS. SHE KNOWS HER ANSWERS INSIDE OUT.. because they came from listening and from hard work.. She did the work herself to put the plans together.. She OWNS her promise and holds herself ACCOUNTABLE. Now, THAT'S A LEADER!!

You asked for one reason I would vote for Hillary. It would be impossible for me to list just one. I have admired Hillary since she first came on the scene as the wife of the presidential candidate. I admired her all through the years she was First Lady. I always said if any woman could be president, Hillary would! I also said if she ever did run, I would campaign for her!
The day she announced her candidacy, I signed up as a volunteer and contributed. I've been volunteering ever since doing everything a volunteer can do. I've had the honor and privilege to have met/seen in person Hillary 9 times. She is the most warm, funny, caring lady! The more I see her, the more I hear her speak, the more I "feel" her heart and the more I truly love her!
She has the perfect blend of toughness and strength which is so needed in a good president, but yet she has a big warm heart full of compassion!! Hillary is a brilliant woman and she has spent her entire adult life working to help people. I truly believe that is the reason she wants to be president - to help people each and every day!
Each day as I campaign for Hillary and make phone calls for hours at a time on her behalf, I also pray that she will be our next president! As I always say, Hillary is the most qualified, experienced and intelligent candidate and the fact she is a woman, is just icing on the cake!!!
I live in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn, New York and I am a 55 year old woman.

I support Hillary because of her dedication to this country and to finding solid solutions to our problems. Her dedication, strength, and character are evidenced by her ability to withstand the unfair attacks and lies told about her by the Obama campaign; by her ability to remain strong with the sexist, ignorant media trying to chip away at her while placing Obama on a pedestal, and by the grace she has demonstrated under enormous pressure. She has got the strength we need to repair our country, as well as the wisdom and experience.

If, Americans will loose this opportunity they will loose much much more than just a candidate.
Hillary is a phenomena, an ideology, a unique mind set which is the reflection of every American household, which reflects every man and woman next door.
And that's the reason all of us relate with Hillary so very well that all of us are standing beside her as if all of us will be the President of America.
Yes, Hillary is every other American citizen who deserves Better economy, better job, better health care and God(Al mighty) has given us this golden opportunity to stand by Hillary and help her win the white house for all of us.

I love this reason a woman that wrote to a paper called The Democratic Daily had to say as to why she wasn't going to give up on Hillary!!! I love it, this is my heart!!! Unfortunatley they are not my words, and I will bet bo wont claim these words to be his no matter how eloquent!!! I got this off of Hillary's website today!!!
I’m not ready to give up. Hillary is not a quitter and I don’t intend to be one either. Everywhere I look it seems like someone is saying why Hillary cannot win. “The math” isn’t there (remember Karl Rove’s “the math”?). There will be riots if she’s the nominee. Al Gore will come in and save the day by nominating Obama at the convention. That Hillary is going to get abucted by aliens from Trafalmadore and have to give up on the race.
I’ll let you all in on a little theory I have: The Obama campaign and their supporters in the liberal blogosphere/MSM are scared–really, really scared–that Obama is going to get trounced in the next month or two and that Hillary will get the nomination. They are going out of their way to imply over and over that Hillary needs to drop out now to save the Party. Heck, they are trying to pretend they are going disenfranchise and/or ignore over 2,000,000 Democratic voters to make it seem less likely she can win.
Excuse me, but I’m not falling for it. There’s no way the Democratic Party survives without counting voters in FL and MI, so unless the DNC wants to be in their last year, I think its silly to think they won’t be counted. We still have PA, where Hillary is running strong. She is making gains in North Carolina. She is dominating West Virginia. She is on the rise nationally and Obama is falling. Yet they are still trying to force Hillary out of this before people’s votes are counted. Everyone needs to have a “cup of tea” or a glass of wine and calm down. Let’s let the voters have their say. I’m not afraid of that.
Hillary is in it to win it and I’m sticking with her. This party is just getting started, baby!
I love it. There was a video you could play of Pink "Better get this party started" it was great go check it out!!! It was under blog!!!

Because Hillary is the best WOMAN for the job!
Hillary Clinton
www.hillaryclinton.com
The bolded Divided We Fail principle is listed first, then the statement we identified for the candidate. In some cases, we may not have identified a statement for the corresponding principle.
We believe all Americans should have access to affordable health care, including prescription drugs, and these costs should not burden future generations.
Hillary's American Health Choices Plan covers all Americans and improves health care by lowering costs and improving quality… It puts the consumer in the driver's seat by offering more choices and lowering costs. If you're one of the tens of million Americans without coverage or if you don't like the coverage you have, you will have a choice of plans…and that coverage will be affordable…if you like the plan you have, you can keep it.
Affordable: … The plan provides tax credits for working families to help them cover their costs.
Available: … The insurance companies can't deny you coverage if you have a pre-existing condition.
Reliable: It's portable. If you change or lose your job, you keep your health care.
(Campaign website, October 4, 2007, http://www.hillaryclinton.com/feature/healthcareplan/)
We believe wellness and prevention efforts, including changes in personal behavior such as diet and exercise, should be top national priorities.
"My plan also has a prevention initiative, requiring the insurance industry and public programs like Medicare and Medicaid to promote wellness as well as treat illness and provide every American with comprehensive preventive care." (Universal Health Care Speech, September 17, 2007) "Senator Clinton would make it a condition of doing business with the Federal government that health plans would coordinate public spending on prevention across federal programs in the Department of Health and Human Services to maximize high-priority prevention. A public-private collaboration would ensure that prevention reaches beyond the health care system and into schools, workplace, supermarkets and communities through free provision of preventive benefits. It would enlist a new prevention workforce including pharmacists, church leaders and others..."
http://www.hillaryclinton.com/files/pdf/healthcarecosts.pdf
We believe Americans should have choices when it comes to long-term care - allowing them to maintain their independence at home or in their communities with expanded and affordable financing options.
"My mother lives with us as well. And we see it every single day. I was pleased to pass a life span respite act that will begin to provide more support for people who do provide this caregiving. If we were to see our caregivers stop tomorrow and say they could no longer bear the financial, emotional cost of caregiving, that would be a $300 billion cost to replace what is done out of love and out of family and other relationships. So I think it's important that when we have universal healthcare, we know that people will have health care, but we also need to do more for respite care [and] long-term care tax credits..."
(The Democrats on Health Care and Financial Security, AARP-Iowa Public Television forum, Davenport, Iowa, September 20, 2007)
We believe our children and grandchildren should have an adequate quality of life when they retire. Social Security must be strengthened without burdening future generations.
"With respect to Social Security, I have a plan. It's called start with fiscal responsibility. That's what we were doing in the 1990s, and we had Social Security on a much better path than it is today because of the irresponsible spending policies of George Bush and the Republican Congress. If there are some of the long-term challenges that we need to address, let's do it in the context of having fiscal responsibility, and then let's put together a bipartisan commission and look at how we're going to deal with these long-term challenges. I am not going to balance Social Security on the backs of seniors and hardworking middle-class Americans."
(MSNBC Debate, October 30, 2007) http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/21562193/
We believe workers should be provided with financial incentives to save, should have access to effective retirement plans, and should be able to keep working and contributing to society regardless of age.
"I'm announcing my plan today to provide every single American with an easy, automatic opportunity to save for future through an account I'm calling an American Retirement Account. These accounts will take the best of the 401(k) plans and make them available to every working family…To give a strong incentive for saving, my plan will offer working and middle-class families generous matching tax cuts. For families making up to $60,000 a year, the government will match dollar for dollar the first $1,000 you save. For families making between $60,000 and $100,000, the plan will provide a 50 percent match…That means tens of millions of middle-class families will be eligible for matching tax cuts of up to $500 and $1,000 to help them build a nest egg."
(Campaign website, October 9, 2007, http://www.hillaryclinton.com/news/speech/view/?id=3640)
We believe Americans of all ages should have access to tools to help manage their finances, and save for the future and better, easy to understand information to help them increase their financial literacy and manage their money wisely.
"The New Savers Act lays out a series of practical and relatively low cost steps we can implement to help Americans start saving more and create wealth for their kid's education, for the purchase of a home and for their retirement," said Senator Clinton. The Secretaries of the Treasury Department and the Department of Health and Human Services are instructed to undertake a number of programs and strategies to promote access to wealth building financial services. Efforts will focus on encouraging the use of electronic payments, linking benefits cards to savings products, and providing the resources, incentives, training and assistance to connect individuals to a variety of wealth building financial products and services.

Hillary should be our nominee because she can win against John McCain. She can get the most electoral votes. She has the best positions on the issues most Americans care the most about.
Hillary would not only elevate women in this country but all countries. The most important and meaningful way to promote peace in the world would be to improve attitudes towards women. Help women and you help children. Help children and you help our future.
Golda Meir, once the president of Israel, said, "We will have peace with the Arabs when they love their children more than they hate us". That's some wonderful wisdom and insight. If Israel, Germany, Britain and lots of other countries can have a successful woman as president, so can the United States of America. It's about time.

From the very beginning; as I have stated many times;
Obama's campaign started with his coined phrase, "I voted against the war since day one, She voted for the war"
And, If only people could read the truth this plainly,
Senator Obama was NOT a US Senator in 2002, he did not have a vote! He became a Senator in 2004, Period!

I believe that Hillary Clinton should be the next President because she has worked harder and longer than anyone else, with more obstacles, more barriers, more enemies, more vicious attacks against her than anyone else, and yet still she fights and still she prevails.
I believe that Hillary Clinton will be the next President because the Silent Majority has more power than the media. Because the vaunted Youth Vote will go the way of all the other predicted Youth Votes. Because the Obama Thugs who wrested caucus votes away from Typical Human Beings will be busy watching the NFL and the WWF and Jackass in November. Because reasonable people across the country will have the scales fall from their eyes, and the drugs leached from their systems, and will see Obama for what he is and McCain for what he is and Clinton for what she is.

The US needs a person who will fight for what is right, even when that isn't the easy choice. Hillary has shown time and time again that she will do what she thinks is right regardless of the pressures she gets to do what everyone else thinks is right.

I could list more than one reason and information to back up my reasoning...

The main reason? When Hillary speaks about any issue or problem this country is facing, she demonstrates a sublime understanding of the problem and her suggested solutions are well thought out and responsive to the concerns of the average American. In other words, she has empathy in addition to wisdom. (I think I'll print this out and use it in my phone calls; as I am often asked that very question by the undecideds).

I have voted for Hillary in Texas because she enabled me to get a public school education.
Her door-to-door canvassing provided Congress with the stats it needed to pass Special Education into law.
Were it not for her, I and other people with disabilities would have been locked away in a state institution, denied the chance to graduate from college and then graduate school.
For all of his posturing, the so-called 'civil rights attorney' running against her cannot claim this accomplishment.
Hillary Clinton is change I can believe in.

Something positive...
Hilary has been a public servant for many years, she dedicated herself at an early age without pay. She has climbed many mountains and fought many battles to get to where she is, she has let nothing stop her. She is a go getter, she doesn't sit back and hope and wish, she delivers...maybe tiny pieces at a time but she works her way towards her goal. The woman is UNBREAKABLE, nothing can stop her. I will proudly give her my name, she has earned it.

in re: Santacruzen's p.s.
"P.S. I would never want her job. She is daring to go where Angels Dread!"
Exactly! I remember her fight for Universal Healthcare during Bill's administration. She was set upon by the attack dogs of the A.M.A. and the drug companies and I have never been so proud of any person in public life as I was in her persevering in the midst of such a hurtful battle.
The fact that she is willing to take up that fight again, based on all that she learned the first time around is more than enough reason to do anything it takes to get her elected. She is for the people, plain and simple.:)
Because there isn't one topic that she can't address, substantively and off the cuff, when asked. Because she has her sh*t so together that I'll be able to sleep peacefully at night, not having to worry about the neophyte at the helm...in perilous times.

I believe today, what I believed on January 20, 2007... A Hillary Rodham Clinton Administration will repair the damage to our reputation around the world.
This is the most important issue to me!

Although not off the scale by any measure, her IQ is slated at 140. Combined with common sense, it's IMHO an unbeatable combination of a problem solving genius with a human emotion factor. Not to mention that she's a woman, so she must work harder to accomplish less. This makes her an opponent that most would not want to go up against.

She's a great listener and problem solver. She rolls up her sleeves and get to work rather than just talking about the problems!

STRONG AND MENTALLY READY This is important because George Bush seemed to lose it after 9/11 and I do not think Obama can handle the responsibilities.

Hillary has a depth and range of knowledge of issues that are important to our country. She has reasoned, sound positions on issues from foreign policy and defense to health care, the economy and education. She is genuine -- what you see is what you get. She has unfailing strength and tenacity.
