No- I think its the best Forum on the net. The news media comes in from time to time and I know the Clinton folk do. It's a place where we feel welcome and can share about Hillary and learn so much from others. Please keep an open mind. If you want something bad enough you just keep asking........... Murray we are asking.

When Murray first posed this last week, I would have said no. Now that I have seen his posts and understand more of his reasoning, I said yes. I think if he chooses to open something else, it will be better than what this has become. There are days when this is nothing but one big chat room where everyone is fighting. We have even seen with our own eyes that one member's sole purpose in posting here is to stir shit and harass the Obama people the MURRAY invited in to HIS forum. That alone makes this a hostile environment and I can see why he is over it.
We have had many good times here. We have laughed, we have cried, we have made both friends and enemies in some cases. We have met people with views that were opposite to ours that we either came to an understanding with, or just continued to oppose. We were given that choice and I thank Murray for allowing us to have that opportunity. This place has meant a lot to many of us. It was my political sanctuary after my mom died in March and I was so happy to find it. I made some wonderful friends that took me to another forum that I love just as much. I will always have fond memories of HCF, but I think it has passed it's due date.

at this point, I'm not thinking of it in terms of want or don't want. I'd like to see the existing forum stay up on the net--it's a great testament to the heart and commitment of everyday Americans, who stuck together through thick and thin against a tanked-up media, pooled their resources and research skills, and put their heads together and kept talking to provide each other and all the forum's readers with an important perspective--HERstory, yes, but also OURstory as Americans.
that said, I've come to have great respect for Murray, and if his gut is urging him toward a new purpose, I'm very very curious and looking forward to learning what that will be.
I guess, bottom line, I trust that whatever Murray has in mind, it'll be good :)

In my opinion, it is for Murray to decide. He contributes his time and effort to maintain this forum. I back his decision.

It doesn't matter if we vote yes or no, it's the super delegates who will decide the outcome;). btw, I voted no.

No, but I understand where Murray is coming from... and the provision to open and read and search is reasonable accomodation. For that I am grateful.
I intend to stay in touch via PM if it is left on.. I hope others will be around.
Friends, I know you all love this country as much as I do. My best wishes to all of you. Never forget....

Who the heck voted "yes", seriously?
Who the heck voted "yes", seriously?A couple of us admitted to it...and yes I am one of them.
Not because I hate it here....NEVER!! I just want it to be remembered for what it was. Leaving it as a memorial and viewing only site makes the most sense.
Why keep it open? Seriously? So all the bickering can continue and be the focus/on the front page of this forum?
Most everything being posted now about HRC are about the past and happier times...much of it is in the archives for all to view.
That is why I voted yes!

Well, that's sad. Because I feel like the few who have set out to cause trouble on this forum have now succeeded and ruined it for the rest of us.
Why keep it open? Because it's for HILLARY and she's on a whole new, exciting journey that I personally want to share in and share with you all. I'm just in disbelief that it's closing now when Hillary's embarking on such an incredible journey. Otherwise this is just the "Hillary Clinton Presidential Candidate Forum"
I completely understand why Murray is doing this and I support him. But I will never forgive those I feel have ruined this forum and have now gotten what they wanted. And I think you folks know who you are. Now that it's ending, I feel I have the right to voice my anger and not care. Thanks a lot, folks. Your anger and hatred for Obama has completely become a problem and now the rest of us are paying for it. I hope you guys are happy. This forum may be closing but I will never give into anger and resentment. Ever.

I understand that Murray needs to get on with his life. This site is expensive and very time consuming. he needs a new start and focus in 2009.

Why don't you join Pantsuit Politics (http://www.****************.net/index.php), where people are going to follow her new and exciting journey?

I'm on there, I just don't post enough, I liked the community here and didn't want to lose it.
NSTYLE77, I'm sorry this year wasn't great for you. I hope it's better next year.

No B, that's not the reason I am closing it. I would never allow a few troublemakers to lead me to close the forum - that's what the ban button is for!
It's more that I need a break from all of this and I don't want to hand the forum over to the universe.

I think you are correct in what this site is and was...a "Hillary Clinton Presidential Candidate Forum"...that is exactly what it is and should remain, IMO.
As far as community...The community, back in the day, was fantastic and many of us thought that as a group we could accomplish anything, and we did:D... but what community are you speaking of now? There really isn't an HRC community anymore except for a few people. Of course today we have many that haven't been here for a while, but that's only because it's closing. Many of them didn't even post here when HRC got the SoS position. So I guess I am a little confused as to why they would want to keep it open for posting.
I think starting fresh with new names and no ranks will make Murrays new site something to look forward to. If we want to reminisce about the way we were, at least this site will still be open to do so. And like Samkm said...if Murray can keep the PM's working, how great would that be?
Will miss the forum very much but understand. Thanks Murray for your dedication and for all the time and effort you have given! You are very much appreciated!!!
You are welcome.
Much credit, however, also goes to those members and moderators who helped keep the forum alive this long!

Even though many on here may condider me a Neanderthal in some of my views I have found many who consider the rightist slant and respect it if not accept it. This is how common goround is found, singing to the chior only leads to wrong headed decisions and idologies. We must examint the results of programs and when their fail reconsider other options.
