To HCF comrades!

I'll keep this brief as we've been discussing "closure" for a while now & there really isn't anything new to report on the topic.

I've been at this forum daily for the past 11 months and it's time for a break. I'm exhausted mentally & emotionally and need to focus on other things for a while.

I decided against changing the name of HCF as it just didn't seem right - HCF is HCF, and not anything else.

While the forum could easily go on into the future, for now I think a break is needed for many reasons.

I haven't ruled out the possibility of reopening HCF (again) sometime but I am not putting a time frame on it, nor saying whether it will ever happen.

Thanks to everyone past and present who has posted here: >500,000 posts in less than a year is a pretty impressive effort for a small forum!

Special thanks to those who helped with moderation & those who contributed to covering the server costs.

HCF will remain open for viewing and if I ever reopen the forum for posting, you will all find out about it!

I sense the reality of time zone and it IS time for sleep, Murray. You have worked so hard. Let this go for CA and shut it down when you wake up tomorrow. I truly wonder if you realize what you have achieved here on this forum, but for whatever it may be worth...I have been on the internet for more years than I want to own up to. But, by the same token, if you add up all my posts on any of the other sites I have posted in totallity....they would not even touch the amount of posts I have done here.

And why did I post so much? Because in 1992, Bill said you are getting a two for one deal...I voted in 92 and 96 for the other half of the deal by default. I confess my passion for this intelligent woman we know as Hillary.

And as one in the 1980's who held the hands of those dying because of Reagan's refusal to financially support AIDS funding...until his buddy Rock Hudson died, I know first-hand the difference between the media candidate and the true worker.

Hillary is a worker...it is why Pittsburgh last St. Patrick's Day proudly held signs that said THIS IS CLINTON COUNTRY! It is why she won this chauvanistic state. Because for all the chauvanism, they will always back the one that has the back of the workers.

Hillary was not the candidate of the media-elite...she was the candidate of the workers.

I've been busy since yesterday with relatives flying in for a visit, so I haven't had much chance to be here. My daughter, son-in-law, and grandson just arrived this evening [they're living in New York], and I've spent my time with them. It's sad that tonight is the forum's last night, as I would've liked to spend more time commiserating with my fellow HCFers, but just don't have time now.

I'm so grateful to have had this forum...this haven...from the pro-Obama bias that was rampant in the MSM and just about everywhere online. When the HC site was overrun by bots, this forum's birth was an answer to a prayer.

Murray, you know I respect your decision to shut down, but you also know that I'm not happy about it. :( I wish you all the best. If/when you reopen HCF or start up a new site, I know I'll hear from you.

To my friends here--many of whom I've had the pleasure of getting to know in real life--it's been an honor knowing you. I'm glad we had a common interest and worked so hard to open the eyes of those blinded by the hype Mr Empty Suit undeservedly received. It had been a LONG time since I'd seen such passion, drive, and dedication to a cause as I saw here--when HCF was HCF. It was awesome, and I won't ever forget it.

Wishing all of you--even the pro-Obama folks!--the best this coming year and beyond. :D

I just wanted you (Muzza and the early HCF members) to know how much this forum has meant to me and how it helped me learn how to fight for what is right and just.

When I started here, I was a virgin to forum life. Below is my first thread I started and quite possibly my first post. I only got one response to this thread, but I did not lose my will. I just didn't know how to motivate any of the members yet....

So, I started this thread because I wanted this journalist to be hurt by the same words she used to hurt me/others.

It ended up to be a success and was the first of many micro/mini fund-Hill-raisers Ed and I started to raise donations. I could have kept going, but thankfully Murray knew when to stop the whipping of this journalist, and boy was she whipped!;)

Our efforts might not have been the final blow for this journalist, but since the election, she is no longer writing a collumn for the LVRJ. I like to think that it was our efforts that started the ball rolling for her ousting and would like to thank all of you that participated.

It was the beginning of a great time here for me and I will absolutely never forget what we all banded together to do and what our primary focus was...having Hillary Clinton's back at every turn!!
