OK...I can't believe I'm doing this. I'm going to be 58 this month, and I need to lose weight...about 35 pounds. I've done the weight watchers thing and that worked once, but alas, nothing permanent. SO....

To have a healthy 58th year, I'm going to pledge $10 to the campaign for every pound that I lose. Now, that might not seem like incentive, but I want Hillary to win so badly and there's not a whole lot that I can do. So, I'm going to do something good for myself while supporting Hillary.

I'll keep you posted... 35 pounds = $350 buckaroos...

Oh, and I promise not to take back $10 for every pound I gain.

I can't believe I just "outed" myself as overweight...:o

Good idea...I'm 6' 1" and weigh like 165 (male) so I'd waste away if I did this..but...we'll all support you and everyone else who joins in on this idea!

Sign me up! April can be a "Strive to be your Best" month. We know Hillary is working hard to be the best Democratic Nominee, so we should too.

I think we need to brainstorm on ideas to do come collective fund raising for Hillary. I know that the Country Singers in TN were supposed to have a high dollar fund raiser today for Hillary. I wonder if we can think of organizing other big fund raising events to really get the Clinton Camp back up to par to compete.

The Elton John event will help. I would like to see us organize big fund raisers like the Rockefeller Cntr. Protest and get big $$$ too. What about Hollywood and country singers?

Anyone have any idea?

Maybe a poetry reading by Maya Angelou?? That would garner big bucks as well as AA women taking a second look. I know she was invited to speak at our protest rally but she was teaching and she doesn't fly. Did you know she is 80 yr. old?? Shocking huh??

i posted my idea 3 weeks ago and asked Murray to put it on the front page but nothing.
my idea is host a debate watch party April 16.
go to www.hillaryclinton.com
click Take Action tab
plan event
when you create your event, ask that guests donate 5-10 dollars when they RSVP
It would be great if Murry kept a list of the house parties hosted by us members on the front page. if you could not host, you could select one to attend

That's a good idea, where does she live? I think the debate watch is great too, let's keep thinking, sharing and organizing. I know I've gotten messages on emails here, but I don't know how to do that. I think we need to do that to get Murray's attention to make a sticky about fund raising ideas. Then really do what those guys did for the protest. Call and organize.

What about a cross country bowl-a-thon for Hillary, especially after that comment today?

Maybe we could get people to sponsor us or get some Pro bowlers involved?

So far we have:
1. Debate watch (parties across the country?)
2. Poetry slam. (I know a poetry professor here, he does poetry slams)
3. Bowl-a-thon (cross country)

If we could figure out how to get the poetry reading to be broadcast over a webcam.

I wonder if we could get bowling lanes to sponsor an event with special pricing and making the money a donation for Hillary. Let's keep exploring the ideas and how they can make money.

I tried to get the other thread of fund raising ideas over here to look at these.

How can we get some of these things moving? The Bowl-A-Thon would be great to engage University Students and the white men for the voter base.
