What kind of news/topics/issues/threads do you most wish to see at HCF?

For my part, in the main room, I have been focusing on news items about Hillary and also about Obama's presidency.

I am seeing a lot of threads posted by "CGP"

Feel free to post threads about issues/topics you find of interest! ;)

I need to start more threads. I am terrible about reading the news here and commenting on it.

I am all for diverse discussion about politics. World events as well as Hillary and obama.

I just finished a big project and am now working on my taxes, so haven't been able to do much more than comment here and there, but I've been wondering if we need more diversity. I was going to say controvery, but I don't mean fighting. I mean other points of view and perhaps more provocative questions directed to members to get discussions going.

I like the news, though. Wouldn't want to lose any of that.

Well, I am seeing a lot of threads posted by "CGP", too, and I think that's just fine! :) Sorry that I haven't been good about contributing articles, but I'm sure glad that you and others do. I can hardly keep up with reading and commenting on them! As for content, it seems to be a good mix already, with focus on Hillary's activities and other current events. I agree that offering somewhat provocative questions from time to time could produce some interesting discussions, but I don't wish to go back to controversy for controversy's sake. It's been quite pleasant here lately and that is a relief. I think that "getting along" begins at home and this "home on the net" can provide a starting point for those who wish to engage without insult, proving that there is such a thing as "common ground," and that it's worth striving for, on every level.

I like how this site aggregates all things political. I usually come here first to get a glimpse of the news items out there on the interwebs.

Mexico-related items seem to have a lot of newsworthy stats as of late.... stuff that should be brought to a wider audience.

Anything political whether it be social, fiscal related, or foreign policy. I personally have a passion for social issues, specifically how they are handled by the judicial branch of government.

I'll be posting articles that I find personally interesting and that I feel will stimulate discussion in the room. I don't think we'll ever see eye-to-eye on most issues but we can nod to each other from across the divide, be civil, polite and understand that people have different life experiences that have shaped their point of view.

Sounds fair & reasonable.
