I tried, but I usually can't find the one I want.
For example, I wanted to find all the threads with nice youtube fan videos for Hillary. Couldn't find them. Took too much time to search. So I gave up.

That's a good example. Previously all Hillary videos where in one subforum/category of their own.

I do with regards to the primary.

I don't. I try to keep up with the current threads, but honestly, I don't always get around to reading some of them, either, and if the thread starts to degenerate as the result of a disagreement, I usually stop reading at that point. I might skim down to see if the discussion gets back on topic, but that's about it.

To find the links to articles or text to articles and research documenting the primaries and GE's day to day details. The "as it happened" information that can't be easily googled.

I view them sometimes... mostly to look up old information that I find relevant now... not really to reflect on old memories; they're too painful. :(

Agree. I've gone back for information, but some of it opens old wounds and I get angry all over again at the injustices. I'm trying to see that anger as the impetus to change things for the better, not to get stuck in it and churn.

We may not visit those threads often now... but they may prove to be useful come the mid-term elections and 2012 GE. Plus, with all the video etc, it's just nice to have for historical accountability.
My only issue, is that YouTube videos could be wiped out. It would be nice if several folks had archives that couldn't just be deleted. ;)

All of Hillary's official videos (both from her time as Senator & her presidential campaign) have been removed from youtube or made private. :(

Only when someone responds in them or I'm looking for something.

I rarely go back. Some of them embarrass the hell outta me, and why should I when we have had people insist in dredging them up to flame you or embarrass you?

I like to have the ability to access some of the old research. In the end, the research became so intense and specialized that some topics I missed while I focused on the caucus and ACORN research. Some of my backup documentation was destroyed by someone very non-PUMA friendly.

Yes, I think it's important that people have access to the posts they have made over time. As such, most of the historical content of this forum is fully accessible - it just might some time searching/digging to find individual threads of interest as there are >40,000 of them!

I do sometimes, if I'm bored. It's fun to look back.

If I may a short story....
I used to work in a bolt factory running an annealing machine. The bolts would come out of an oil bath and drop into a pan lined with old newspapers. I always found it...enlightening to read what was the hot news of the day and what the pundits said was going to happen from (say) 5-6 years earlier, amazing how often they got it wrong.
Example from the last election where so many of the talking heads guaranteed us that the election was goingto be between Hilary Clinton and Rudy Giuliani. Needless to say they were just a bit off on that one!
