I just sent an email out to all registered users of the forum notifying everyone that the forum has re-opened. This is the first time I have ever used the "mass email" feature of v-bulletin so I am not sure what to expect! Hopefully it worked! :o

If you are returning to the forum, check in here :)

Hi there! Great to see the forum back.

While I was a staunch opponent to Barack Obama - and still am - I really appreciated this forum and all the Hillary Clinton supporters who were so gracious to people of all political persuasions.

Since Hillary has agreed to serve as Barack's Secretary of State I will leave my thoughts/comments at appreciating all of you here who provided such great comments, thoughts, and sharing of news/information and ideas!

Good Wishes to All here!

Although I think Obama is bringing Socialism to America and I don't support that direction, I'll be sure to check in to see what HRC is up to! Thanks for opening the forum back up. I'm sure the conversations will be interesting.

Glad to be here with my HRC people! We need to stick together to try to keep the media in line and seriously push back on any sexist reporting they do on Hillary. Seems they STILL can't help themselves...most recently reporting on her outfit instead of the substance and significance of her current visit to Asia. I don't recall the Press ever commenting on what Colin Powell or any other male SOS was wearing on their trips abroad. I don't recall it because IT NEVER HAPPENED. So, let's push back on them and tell them to stick to substance!

I too received an email and would like to network with this forum in regards to some topics of political concern.

However, I would like some clarification about this sentence from the email:
Extremism of all types (be that anti-Hillary extremism, anti-Obama extremism, anti-Palin extremism etc) is not welcome.

Can I get some clarification as to what is meant by extremism?

Sarah Palin and her supporters threaten the very fiber of freedom, liberty and justice for all in this country, how can one discuss Palin without noting her extremism?

Hi to everyone! I'm so happy HillaryClintonForum is back!!! Thank you Murray!

My current state is such: I am so proud of Hillary as SOS (somethings never change!) and my feelings have softened for Obama. Once he chose Hillary as SOS and she accepted I felt I could "emotionally" join his team. Also, once the election was over, I was relieved that he won not McCain. I wrote in Hillary.

Anyways, glad to be back here! :):D:)

Whoa, lol, this last line sounds pretty extreme.

This is not an official response, of course. That will come from Murray, but I did have one thought. I'm certain you're aware that not everyone shares your views. Can you discuss Palin's alleged extremism without being extreme? That would work for me.

Meanwhile, welcome!

I think he means no extreme hatred and irrationality over a politician

Examples:

anti-Hillary extremism - rehashing 90's Clinton conspiracy theories, that she's calculating, cold-hearted, a closet Republican, etc.

anti-Obama extremism - Obama is the anti-Christ trying to turn the US into a socialist country for foreign control, etc.

anti-Palin extremism - Palin is a c***, a nutjob, dumbest woman on Earth, etc.

Hi, I hadn't checked in since early January, but decided to after reading CGP's email today. I have been busy getting my life back to normal after election season. I've been paying better attention to work and family life, (I know my husband appreciates that) and catching up on new music, movies, and I also took a vacation. I check out Just Say No Deal blog sites every once in a while, but I thought this site was shut down as read only. Thanks CGP for bringing it back up.

I agree with the neutral feelings on Pres. Obama, I am definitely not a supporter, but I am giving him the benefit of the doubt, and I do hope that his administration will help end this recession. Having said that, it is still important for us to tastefully debate about ideas, politicians, and policies because there are no clear or perfect answers to our problems. This will only help us learn from each other and better appreciate other points of view.

I normally don't post much, but I enjoy reading other people's post. There are a lot of intelligent writers on this blog and I welcome back everyone as well.

(I actually agree with you on Palin...except for the "her supporters" part, but yes she (Palin) is very extreme IMHO and I get very unhappy (putting it lightly) when I read about her policies and politics. However I do think that opinion would be considered "extreme" here. CGP can clarify)

so I was very happy to get the email announcing that it was back up. I do enjoy intelligent political discussion and have found that the "other side" is usually very well presented on this forum.

I'm extremely disillusioned with the Obama Presidency; I expected a shift toward socialism because that's just what he is...a socialist, but I never dreamed he would act so fast and so decisively.

Tabitha, now I'm curious. Generally speaking, I think of Obama as representative of the left, Hillary the middle and Palin, the right. If you don't like any of them, which politicans do you like?

I will always love and support HRC in whatever shes doing, but I accepted the new President 6 months ago. I don't hate him. I hope he helps our country in his endeavors.

I am not a confrontationalist. I dislike fighting. I had to duck out of the forum way before the problems because I felt "swallowed up" by so many strong opinions.

I'm in a wait and see mode on Obama, still not sure where he is going with this stimulus package. I think there's room for a lot of constructive criticism. Best wishes to everyone.................

Of course. And it's productive to critique the actions of politicians as ultimately they are accountable to the people they are representing.
