View Full Version : FORUM MAINTENANCE: Donations to CGP Forum to Cover Monthly Costs!
As you all know, it's a tough economy and Common Ground Politics is not immune from its effects!!
In the future, there will be ads added to the forum to help cover costs but revenue from such ads is typically very limited on a small site.
There is also the option for anyone to make a donation if they wish to via the paypal donation button. I don't want the button to be too obtrusive, and yet it needs to be in a prominent place for it to serve any purpose. I will play around with positioning and see what works best.
As has always been the case, donations are purely voluntary and private.

Thanks! Is it possible to have an option so that those who donate a certain amount can be ad free?

Yes, over time I will work out more options and have a better system in place to accomodate these kinds of variations.

Murray, I would help but I was laid off last week.
Again. :(

Sorry to hear that. You need to provide an update in the "are you concerned about your job?" thread! :(

I'd love to donate, but I need to know what's happening, job-wise. I've been twisting in the wind for three months now. I would brush up on my waitressing skills, but I've never been a waitress. Actually, I think they're called servers now.
I want to be the next Dr. Ruth!

Who is Dr. Ruth?!
She's a sex therapist--and a woman of a certain age. Actually, I think she's probably well into her seventies now.
I guess I'd have to be a young Dr. Ruth. It's the one job where I might face age discrimination in reverse, lol.

Just a friendly reminder!!! The forum makes very little from the ads that are running and CGP pays all the remaining costs, which are considerable, himself!!!
Let's help him out. Anything you can spare would be appreciated. $5? $10? Great! It all helps to defray the monthly costs.
