Prayers for socal4hillary

She just sent me this email:

I won't go into detail right now, but I wanted you to know that I have a tumor and will need brain surgery to remove it. It's looking like the first or second week of April, but that may change depending on more test results. They're going to remove the vestibular nerve on the right side, and since that's part of the balance mechanism it's going to take some time post-op to relearn how to balance; the left side has to learn how to compensate. I'll also PROBABLY lose all hearing in my right ear.

Please light a candle for her. She was a member of my PUMA team when I was state chair for Citizens for McCain and a wonderful contributer to this forum and to PUMA.

Not that all brain surgery is the same, but my father had brain surgery in 2006. It wasn't for cancer but to reroute some lines to avoid a possible aneurysm in the future.

My point is siimply that our medical industry KICKS SERIOUS BUTT, so she should feel very confident that she will come out of this just fine. The biggest problem is getting a proper diagnosis, and she is past that. The surgeons themselves are true-life heroes.

Stay strong. Just know that our surgeons today are beyond amazing. My father's brain surgery was scheduled for a few hours like yours. I recall all my family being in the waiting room and it went much faster than scheduled. The surgery is just some small footnote in his continuing life, and I have absolutely no doubt it will be even better for you. That success was 3 years ago. TaoOfBill was in diapers.

So far I haven't heard anything from her ex. He was supposed to give me a call when she was in post-op so I could post how it went.

Like all these things, surgeries can be delayed, don't start on time for various reasons, or last longer etc.

So let's keep positive thoughts for her! Will post as soon as I hear anything!
