I am an African American man. My wife is white and we have a nice family. I am totally disgusted with his voting record and use of race. On the bright side we have a wonderful candidate in Hillary Clinton. She will make wonderful changes to this country. We need to get that tape to the media! Go Hillary Go..

Thank you, Supra.

Yes, Hillary is a fantastic candidate! We are beyond blessed to have someone so fantastic at this time when our struggling country needs great leadership. We must not let this moment be squandered. We need her too much. What is going on in this election is a travesty and scary for our whole country and our brave soldiers abroad!!

So glad you are part of the forum.

As you are an African American, I want to know if you find the issue of race in this primary as awful as we do? I hate to make blanket statements, but everyone I have ever met who is backing Senator Clinton , has never to my knowledge made Senator Obama's race an issue of any kind. I volunteered for a lot of rallys and protests back in the late 60's so have always considered myself to be a staunch supporter of equality. It is not Obama's race I have a problem with; it's his politics and shady dealings that I have read about extensively. I personally feel I am being made to appear to be a bigot for not backing Senator Obama (had an Obama supporter say it to my face.) I want to ad that I grew up on the MExican border on a ranch. My best friend in the world since I was 6 years was African American and left this world with cancer just a few months ago. I was Godmother to her children. My 2 grandchildren are of mixed parentage. I never considered in any shape or form that I might be a bigot and I refuse to think it now. Before everything got so ugly in this race, and before so many aspects of Senator Obama's life & career became public, I told everyone that the only problem I had with Senator Obama was his lack of experience and that I thought in a few years, he would be a great candidate. I Really wish I could say that now but sadly, I cannot.

Because most of us on this blog are probably cranky, aging feminist, caucasian chics who think we know everything and are "liberal" "aware" and think we are "happening" maybe we really need to hear your perspective?

This is powerful. Supra, thank you for posting it and welcome to the Forum. I wish Hillary's campaign could use it. I wish SOMEONE could use it. They'll be blasted, of course, but geez, it needs to be done.

This is frustrating. There is so much material out there but no way to get it to the tens of millions of voters.

Obama has strategically done many things to target race in this campaign.

1. Using Hillary Clinton comments on Lyndon B. Johnson against her.
2. Using Bill Clinton's comments on Jesse Jackson against him and hillary.
3. He skips The Tavis Smiley State of The Black Union forum, and Senator Clinton speaks and participates
4. Attends Reverend Wrights church for 20 years and then politically when he has to distances himself from the man and church. ( we are not stupid)
5. Obama has only sponsored and passed 16 bills, Hillary Clinton 54 bills, he has almost no legislative experience!
6. Any economic plan he has he simply copies from Senator Clinton
7. I am an Economics and Government teacher by profession through simple deductive reasoning you can accurately say his whole campaign is about race. He encites the emotions of blacks, while at the same time tapping into the guilt of whites. By doing this he effectively takes the campaign away from issues where Senator Clinton is superior and paints her as the racist. I think if your not paying attention you can easily miss what he's doing..
