The pirates' modus operandi is that they hold the crew, ship, and cargo harmlessly until a lot of money is paid to them. Phillips "heroic" actions put his crew and himself at risk. If he'd done nothing except acquiesce to the pirates' demands, there would have been no risk, just possible discomfort until the extortion money was paid. Instead he put himself and the Seals at grave risk.

Interesting that the crew and the ship owner didn't seem to mind Phillips' heroics. They haven't stopped singing his praises.

I guess this Daily Kos poster wants to be a pirate when he grows up???

Don't give this person the spotlight they are creating. Next, the navy will be blamed for the problems .....

These are the people who were constantly beat up on the playground in middle school. They didn't know how to handle bullies back then and still don't now.

Okay..just take away the ridiculousness of the post in general for a second. How in the hell does this person even know exactly what happened? Was he/she ON that lifeboat off the coast of Africa? Has this person served in the military or even have any knowledge of how the military, the Navy SEALS in particular, even work? I'm guessing no. So it sickens me that whoever this idiot is, thinks they can pass judgement on a situation like this.

Disgusting. I can't believe the Daily KOS even published it. On second thought, maybe I could. Ugh.

Once again, as a daughter of a US Navy Veteran, I'm offended, personally.

It seems the only ones that harm came to were the evil-doing pirates. I guess this person thinks it is okay to hold people and their belongings hostage until a vast amount of money is paid??? :-bd

If I'm correct daily kos doesn't decide what is published. It's all member content. They have their own writers but they also rely heavily on member content.

Extreme idiocy is all I can say! Debbie Downer type. The Captain saved his crew and lots of ransom money.

A fantastic bi-product of this is, the pirates are going to think twice when it comes to hijacking an American vessel now, that much is for sure.

I learned a long time ago not to read or even give this type of BS attention. Let's let it go. Stupid people are plenty on that site and nothing will ever change it.
