Marla Anderson wanted that Barack Obama picture.
So much so that Wyoming police say she walked into a Grove Avenue home Friday to take it.
She struggled with the owner, who called police for help.
Anderson lost and ended up in the Hamilton County jail – without the photo.
Officers arrested her getaway driver, 31-year-old Tamika Cornwell, of Colerain, about 10 hours after the crime.
She’s accused of being an accomplice to the burglary, tampering with evidence and putting her child in danger.
Her 3-year-old son was there when the women fought over the picture.
Anderson, 24, of Wyoming, is facing the same charges.
Both women are scheduled to appear in court Monday.
There are only 6 African American's in Wyoming and two of them had to make an ass out of their selves????HAHHAHAHAHHAHAHAHHAAHAHHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHA HA
When I think of all the politicians I like (not that many...) and celebrities (again, not than many or mostly DEAD...) I can't for the life of me think of one that would make me break into someone's home as shout, "This is a stick up hand over that picture..." This is the most hysterical thing I have ever heard! Arrested for trying to take a picture of O-bysmal away from somebody. I have one glued on my dart board they can have for nothing. (Really...I wore out about 20 pics of George W and I am already on pic 12 of Obama and pic 6 of his wife. You should try this...GREAT stress relief!!!) Poor, poor Wyoming...I was in Ireland when this happened so I missed it (we don't have "news" in Wyoming...we are usually too dull to do anything news worthy...)

Speaking of politicians you like and dislike, what did you think of Senator Simpson, if you care to comment? You don’t seem too shy ;)
I am from Wyoming and am somewhat ambivalent. I admired him on some issues but was also embarrassed by some of his press conferences.

He also used to be a lot more centerist but has become more conservative as time has gone by. He has done some good things for the State. Where from in Wyoming? I live outside Cowley, only about 15 miles inside the Wyo/Montana border, 50 miles east of Yellowstone and our ranch backs up to the Pryor Mts. and Big Horns. I resigned from the Democratic Party after 40 years and am now registered Independant (We used to joke that myself, my husband and my son brought the total of Dems in Wyoming up to 5!) Mostly Pubs and mostly Mormons as you well know.

Given that there may be 500 people in the state, this makes sense! LOL!
No,really, I think WY is the least populated state in the Union. I would be shocked if there were more than 20 there. Redneckville!
I dunno man, if I cruised by a house and saw a cool as hell pic of Rob Thomas on a wall....I may be tempted! :rotfl::rotfl:

As of the 2000 census there were about 3700 blacks living in Wyoming.

No shit? Wow, that kinda shocks me. But still, look at that in comparison to other states. It's like nil.

It was a lame attempt at humour...we virtually have no minority populations of any kind. Probably more hispanics than any other. I live near a town of 1800, no African Americans and a college town of 5,000, no African Americans. I know of one AA cowboy who works for one of the bigger ranches here. I have no idea why we don't have any???

They must be at Cheyenne and Casper...those are the two biggest towns (and have colleges) and yep...we only have 500,000 people, a figure that has remained the same through 5 Census.

Not many for a large state. Really, we have hardly any minoroty populations here. Now Mormons, farmers and rachers we got! Thank you Tao for the accurate number.

That was a slight exaggeration. There might be something close to 1% African Americans. I grew up on a ranch on near the Eastern foothills of the Big Horn Mountains and never saw an AA until our high school basketball team traveled to Cheyenne for a basketball game (we lost).
I understand there were some AA cowboys in Wyoming in earlier times but there were none around when I was growing up.

I grew up on a ranch on the other side of the Big Horns near Kaycee and went to high school in Buffalo. I have never been to Cowley. The nearest I have been is that we used to play basketball against Lovell and got our butts kicked by Greybull in a state football championship game one year.

I always like Buffalo. That side of Wyoming has a lot more trees but gets a lot more snow. We go all winter pratically with none (only get 11 inches of anything each year.)I have always voted but we are now leaving the country for good (that's how much I loath Obama...) Bought a house down on the Yucatan Peninsula in Mexico. I grew up on a working cattle ranch right in the corner of Mexico, California and Arizona. I was always bilingual. My Mom's family was from here. I grow Orchids (I have 200 indoors!) and I want to grow them outside (avid gardener...have a sun-dried tomato business and grow 200+ heirloom tomatoes) We also love to ocean fish. Going to read even more books, sit on the beach with a pitcher of Margaritas and forget how pissed off and bitter I am! We are traveling a lot also. Going to Egypt in September. I was a vet and am retired. Hubby owns his own business so can come and go as he pleases. We just sold the last 200 acres (kept a 10 acre parcel with the house and barn on it.) Have sold all of our cutting horses and our cows. I was an equine practitioner with a breeding business, breeding nearly 250 mares a year. I thought I would miss it more but I really don't. I still read everything that is going on in the business but that is the extent of my interest. For all others here, you should know Wyoming has had a budget SURPLUS every year for 12 years and we are talking millions. We have oil, natural gas and bentonite (mineral) and they make those companies pay dearly for doing business here. Also, Federal Government owns 75% of all the land in the state. We have grizzlies, Elk, buffalo, deer, moose and antelope. No State Income tax and lowest propery taxes in the country. We currently have the lowest unemployment rate in the Nation and our real estate values are holding steady, if not going up a little.

Don’t miss horses? I am kind of surprise. Growing up, some of my best friends were horses; Of course I was on a ranch out in the middle nowhere, so I didn’t have a huge selection. Sitting on a horse from sun up until sun down takes a little of the fun out of it, but I would still like to have a horse around even if I never rode it. My wife grew up in Casper and delivered newspaper on horseback when she was a kid.
I have been thinking of retiring in some place like Costa Rica or Belize, too much drug violence in Mexico for me. I don’t plan on ever fully retiring. I am a consultant and do a lot of computer modeling so I can work from about anywhere that has electricity and phone service.

Yep, we are keeping the house. My son is selling his place and moving in. I will still post 'tho probably not as often! We are supposed to leave in three weeks and be gone until August and then go for good next year. We are doing extensive remodeling on the house in Mexico (It is 4 blocks from the beach, 1/2 acre, two story house with a small pool and we paid 21,000! It needed a lot but the total renovation will only cost us about 7,000 as it is so cheap for labor and materials in Mexico. The house is from the colonial period, mid-1800's...original "pasta" tile floors, 16 foot ceilings... (everyone should look online...they are selling really cheap because the recession here and the losses many suffered to their 401K's and retirement accounts have slowed the buying by American's.) We are near the town of Merida...has a Sams Club, Sears and is about 33% Americans. Also, I have parrots and two Macaws and we are having a giant outdoor aviary built. I love 'em but they are messy dudes! Plus..they NEVER shut up! Our one Parrot is named Roberto and when you cover his cage he says..."Oh no, not the towel!" Plus lots of dirty words I taught him!!!

LMAO!! Dirty Bird! That is too cute, sounds like a great house. I think you will love it there. Jeffs parents have friends that live in Mazatlan 6 mos out of the year, and are considering a full on move. They swear they have all the same conveniences they have here and are much happier for those 6 mos they are down there.
Good luck and check in with us as often as you can. A getaway driver, too? This is priceless, but we need more information.
Were all those concerned acquainted with each other? How did the perpetrator know that such a photograph existed in that home? Was there something special, something unique about the photo? Was it perhaps, suitable for a National Enquirer expose? Had it been blessed by some Chicago area minister?
Did the putative owner do something to disqualify her as caretaker of such an icon? Had she expressed disappointment with recent events, perhaps?
We may laugh, but there might be something truly epic about this misadventure. I see a Made-for-TV movie in the near future.
