Let's bitch about Obama's overuse of the teleprompter!!!

What is he basing his measure of safety upon? Iranian missile tests? North Korean nuclear tests? The unraveling of Afghanistan and Pakistan? This is about as clever as the "creating or saving 3 million jobs" crap the Administration keeps spewing. How does one really determine if a job was saved? They don't keep figures on that because you can't. You know, 4 months into GWB's first term, one could also have said that this country was safer under Bush than Clinton. After all, under Clinton we had the first WTC bombing, then Oklahoma City, then the African Embassy bombings, then the USS Cole. And when it comes to keeping this country safe, I'd rather put my trust in the person who was the Secretary of Defense over the one who was a community organizer.

Even Biden is making joke of Mr. Teleprompter.

After the wind blows down the teleprompter of Vice President Biden at the Air Force Academy graduation he joked "what am I going to tell the President when I tell him his teleprompter is broken? What will he do then?"

Actually, it's Obama that needs to get over the teleprompter. If he decides to debate Ahdeminjad (like he suggested) will it look bad if Obama uses a teleprompter and Ahdeminjad doesn't?

You know what it looks like when you attack the teleprompter over and over? It looks like you have no valid qualms with Obama. It looks like the only thing you can find to complain about is largely inconsequential. I might disagree with others on this board about the effect his policies will have on this country, but at least it's a freaking policy debate.

The teleprompter hang up is stupid. Bottom line.

<CENSORED> it. Let's make this a teleprompter thread.

If Bush's biggest problem as president was his overuse of teleprompters, we'd be in a lot better shape as a country right now.

A question: Why are the self-professed liberals on this forum--okay, some of them, not all--telling the rest of us what we can and can't post about?

If you don't want to read about Obama's teleprompter, then ignore that post or that thread. Or PM CGP and possibly he will ban that person for daring to mention the word teleprompter, but let's not gang up on members and ridicule them because they're posting what we consider to be old news.

Let's be good liberals, okay??? :D :D :D

My only real problem was that this thread had nothing to do with the teleprompter. Spang changed the original post after lanney took the thread off track. They can post whatever their hearts desire, I have no power to delete their posts or anything and I wouldn't do so even if I did. But since I also have the right to post what I want I'm going to tell them that I think that their constant harping on this issue makes them look ridiculous when they could be engaging in conversations on issues they have with Obama's policies.

If you look back, I never told them they couldn't post about the teleprompter, just that I thought it was stupid! :)

And don't worry, I won't be the spelling police. But I do have OCD about grammar and spelling and the spelling of Ahmadinejad was so off track that I simply couldn't help myself! :)

Because I started this thread with an article that had nothing to do with Obama's use of the teleprompter and by the 3rd post this thread had been derailed into a teleprompter thread, so I removed the article and retitled the thread. That's all.

Me too on the OCD. I WISH it made me good at grammar and spelling. I'm just hopelessly compulsive at things that do me no good whatsoever, lol.

And yes, everybody has the right to express themselves about the stupidity of others' posts, lol, unless CGP doesn't consider that civil. I just noticed what looked like an effort to outlaw posts on teleprompters. It's happened before on other topics.

Okay, I came in late and didn't catch the sequence of things. But most threads are going to go off-topic, right? We can't always stop and retitle threads.

Do you swear this wasn't an attempt to intimidate someone out of posting about teleprompters? Hmmmm ....? Raise your right hand.

Maybe we should have police on this forum. I can be the Playground Police, although I would definitely need reinforcements! Mack can be the Spelling & Grammar Police.

The whole idea behind me posting the article in the first place, was to discuss the article. It wasn't happening in this thread so I moved it to a new one.

And I was even nice and didn't post some of the crazy things she's written! Like the gems below:

At some point the American public will realize that gays are taking over and that there is no freedom of speech for heterosexuals or Christians.

Gays represent a small percentage of the population, but they are powerful church leaders, politicians, judges, and movie executives. For the most part they are white males who have sexed themselves out on perverted sex and they are never satisfied. They will keep pushing for more and more sexual freedom (which include sex with children) in search of sexual gratification until they lead America to destruction unless they are stopped.

Gays accepted the fact that they were born gay, suffered sexual abuse or their parents wanted a child of the opposite sex. In the cause of sexual abuse, some children got through the painful experience by giving into the feelings that were forced through years of abuse and think that they are gay.

And this one's funny because she clearly doesn't realize that Miss California retained her title:
Miss California was striped of her title as Miss California when she was asked her views on same sex marriages and she stated that in her view marriage was between a man and a woman. The newspapers reported the truth at first. They changed the story and said that she lost the title because she had brest implants.

Or her views on Prop 8:
GOD’S mercy is not everlasting. That is why there is death and hell. Californians will vote Yes on Proposition 8 to establish marriage between a man and woman or they will go down for their wickedness. In November voters all over the United States should demand that its political leaders reconfirm that the United State is a GOD fearing country or it will move closer to becoming a Third World Country. GOD will bring this country to its knees via natural disasters that will turn into financial disasters. From the presidential to local candidates, every politician who stands with and for gay marriage must be defeated in November. And then Americans must make it clear that the president and governors who nominate gay sympathizers to judgeships will be defeated in the next election.
