Yeah, I loved that too, but for me it was the New Hampshire win. Hands down. I can still feel the surge that went through me. I don't want to say orgasmic, but close, lol.

For me, it was before we figured out that the DNC was never going to let win.

me, too. I'll never forget NH. I was still watching MSNBC and so depressed about the poll numbers I fell asleep after dinner. When I woke up a couple hours later my husband said "Guess what? She's WINNING".

I'd never actually seen that video. It was great to see how much the crowd supported here there.

There were many highlights but some quick ones that come to mind:

- the "comeback" in NH
- the triple win in TX, OH & RI (great night!)
- the win in PA (I was at the victory party!)
- the win in Puerto Rico (I was at that victory party as well!)
- and some of the "heated" moments: the "change you can xerox" line (TX), the "celestial choirs" lines (RI) and "shame on you Barack Obama" (OH) ;)

That was one of the worst days of my life. Why won't anyone just let FL vote? I mean, seriously...

That was the single largest crowd for Pittsburgh's St. Patrick's Day parade ever. This year's didn't even come close.

Because that wasn't part of the DNC's "game plan." FLA would have upset that plan.

And all the Obama followers hear think we are all stark raving mad. I don't care what anyone tells me, "The FIX" was in and NOTHING was going to stop the DNC from nominating Obama...nothing.

It was & is very entertaining! (on a serious note, you can really hear the frustration in Hillary's voice).

I am sure that both Hillary & Obama could crack a smile at that one, a year on.

i told hillary at a chili parlor earlier that day in cincy ohio to take obama's saying Yes We Can and say Yes We Will because you are a doer and WILL get things done as president. i told her you got to say Yes We Will. she said OK and did at the next rally for a few days thereafter

YouTube - Hillary Clinton says "Yes we will!"

That's because they are too young to remember the 2004 convention and wonder why a STATE Senator from IL was given a prime-time speaking slot...didn't understand it then...but, God, I understand it now.

and in the NYtimes article Bill Clinton talks of a black preacher in TX who hugged him and said basically playing the race card on him was in the plan to win and just politics. this entire thing was planned to bring down the clintons whether more voters wanted her to win or not, she was not to be president

Democracy died the day of the DNC rules committee. Anyone who thinks that was a great day for this country, needs to get the heck out. Seriously. I cried my eyes out that day. It was horrible. They silenced the voice of the people. They took delegates from one candidate and gave them to a candidate who wasn't even on the ballot. It was an ultimate joke. Anyway, bygones.

For me, it was the PA Primary, if only because I was right smack dab in the middle of everything and I campaigned for Hillary for those entire 8 weeks leading up to it. Being on the bleachers behind her in Philly the night she won, was one of the most incredible nights and I was overwhelmed with emotion when they made the final announcement. It was the culmination of a 16 year journey I'd been on that had just completely come full circle for me and I couldn't believe I was there. Plus, all my hard work had paid off even if it was only temporary.

I think my second favorite was New Hampshire though. Because everyone had written her off at that point, only a few weeks into the primary and the media was so in Obama's pocket. I'll never forget FOX and MSNBC calling it for her but CNN refused. They were waiting for one of the small towns to come in when she had clearly won. They just did not want to call it for her. It was so ridiculous.

Amy- Good point. I hated when they said "Obama did such a great job bringing down the Clinton Machine" like destroying people's credibility is something to be proud of. I guess Ken Starr would have been proud last year. The big bad monster was destroyed. Yay! The EEEVVVVIIILLLL Clintons, who have done such damage to this country were defeated. Give me a break, folks.

The happiest day for me was in February 2008 - when I decided to become committed to her campaign. I was elected a delegate for her to vote for her in Denver - that was a great day.

Let's all make a commitment that these days will come again - and we will all be there for her to carry her into victory as our first female President - and undoubtedly our best President ever.

That whole thing was a mess. It is bullshit that Iowa and NH get the first primaries every single time and we shouldn't have been punished for calling them out on it. I hope we go out of order next primaries too if Iowa and NH are first again. Screw em...

I doubt they would go through the same mess twice.

I agree that the mess with FL and MI sucked. They should never have been penalized in the first place. That said, I was completely against using the tallies from the votes that took place in MI and FL. How can you say that's a legitimate count when the states were told beforehand their votes wouldn't count. Who knows if it would have been different. A revote would have been A-OK with me, as would no penalty in the first place, but just using the numbers that were there makes absolutely no sense to me.

Its not a "screw em" situation Tao. In NH we have a law that dictates when our primary is. Other states dictate it. It is really a "screw me" situation. To be honest, I can easily defend our first in the nation status - you won't find a more diligent or intellegent electorate anywhere. Of course, I am biased but I truly believe that. I have met nearly every candidate since 1992 and I didn't need to try that hard. It takes more than money to win NH. I think Hillary and Bill proved that.

Iowa is another matter with its caucus.

That rules commitee meeting was one of the reasons I paid more attention here at HCF. While I think the outcome was the correct one (Wyoming Dem, put that gun down!!!:p) how it was made was wrong. THe back door meeting should have never occured. The discussion should have been in the open and the wierd accounting proceedure was..well...odd.

What was a dicey situation turned ugly. Doing it behind closed doors just made it worse.

That day, I really didn't like Hillary at all (Alright, everyone put your guns down! :D) but because of it I came here and I gain a respect for her that I now hold. I bet there are a few of us that have that scenario. There is always some good from the bad.

I truly hope we see Obama/Clinton 2012. For cripes sake get rid of Biden! I would not have even thought this without this forum.

If it matters, in that primary, I voted for McCain. Pre GOP clinching McCain was great. GE McCain....not so much.

LMAO! Alcee, this post cracked me up. And yes, Pre clinching GOP McCain was great. Actually if 2000 McCain had been 2008 McCain, he'd be President right now. I have no doubt. But whatever McCain was showing up, I voted for him anyway.

I don't doubt NH is an intelligent state. A lot of new england states have a high education rate. But that's not the point. Other states deserve just as much say. And your state's law does not get to dictate when my state has it's primary.

I'm not going to sit here and say Michigan deserves to be first everytime. But it should be cycled around. There is no reason for NH and Iowa to be first everytime. You are giving an obscene amount of power to two states who quite frankly didn't have major issues in their backyard.
Michigan and Florida were two of the hardest hit states by the recession. Michigan in particular has been in a recession for years now. This was our year to be listened to and we were afraid if we had stayed in our place we would have been another flyby state. (Turned out to be a much closer race than we imagined)

States that have much more to lose than Iowa and NH are getting passed by the candidates because they aren't important. By the time our primary comes the election is long decided. That's not fair!

I don't care what you think about your electorate. You can't hog the spot light from states who could really use some chatting time with the candidates.

The happiest time of the campaign for me was when she gave her speech in Columbus, Ohio after winning OH and knowing I played a part in her winning it. And after her winning the PA primary and being told that she had just raised over 10 million dollars in less than 24 hours, the look of gratitude on her face was really something to see.
