the last line of the report caught my ear. Dems were told to hold these town halls to drum up support. So, this means these town halls are organized by the Dems? Then why all the fuss if the opposition organizes to attend these meetings?

Seriously, I feel sorry for Obama at this point. He is getting a taste of what Hillary went through in the 1990's.

This is the most PERSONAL of issues for Americans.

And she tried bringing about reforms at a time when American society was even far less open to "change" on this issue than it is now. So it really must have been hellish.

Exactly. The meetings are no less 'manufactured' than some of the opposition. Pot, meet Kettle.

Thank you. That was very inspiring. She didn't flinch, despite those boos. And no teleprompters either. She spoke with such passion and strength. So very impressive. Wish I could have been there to help cheer over those boos!

Her fight for healthcare "back in the day" was what made me a supporter of her for life. She was brave, courageous, intelligent, so damn well-informed on the subject and took a ton of hits from the media pundits...

History has a way of repeating itself...and we the people are once again the losers.

Most Dems are working overtime to sell the plan and progressive groups are paying for help with the sales job. They can try and Republicans and other interested groups are entitled to do likewise in opposition. The public has a right to decide yes or no. But as soon as the polls start showing that the answer from the majority is coming back as no, the Democratic leadership starts crying fowl. If they can't make the case the legislation needs to be fixed or redone. I don't see how insulting the majority will help the Democratic cause in upcoming elections.
